Well, it's been a while since I posted on here. But I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried Kiss my face moisture soap ( Olive and aloe ) it's a hand soap but can be used on the face. The last two nights I've used it.... and, have had pretty good results. I was using Dr. Bronner's tea tree soap.... which I love but, I was starting to get a little dried out because of the winter weather. So, starting using this soap for now..... till it gets warmer and my skin becomes more oily.
But I was just curious has anyone else had good or bad results with this soap??

I noticed that there are already a lot of oily skin topics on this forum, but none of them seem to quite help... so here's another one.

I have an amazingly oily face. Like, far worse than anyone else I've ever seen. The oil gets so bad that it actually gets into my eyes and impairs my vision about 7 hours after washing my face. Right now it's about 12 hours since my last wash; you could use my face to oil a frying pan, and I'm having trouble seeing my monitor screen. When pictures are taken of my face, the light shines off of it so much that it looks like its glowing.
I've tried oil blotting sheets - there's just too much oil for one sheet to get. I can't wash my face more than twice per day, as I'm afraid that would over-irritate my skin. I'm not sure what's causing the oilyness, although I suspect it might be the moisturizer I'm using. However, I've tried switching between moisturizers, and changing seems to have no effect. If I don't use moisturizer, my skin comes off in flakes (due to benzoyl peroxide use) so not using any isn't really an option.
What can I do to keep the excessive oil out of my eyes and off of my face, so that I can start living normally again? :/

Am I the only one that Jojoba Oil doesn't seem to be working for? I've been using it since the beginning of the year in the AM and PM and it still hasn't regulated or helped my oil at all.

I've read on here about the wonders of jojoba oil. Some recommend mixing it with your favorite moisturizer. This seems inconvenient and messy. Doesn't any manufacturer make a non-comedogenic jojoba moisturizer already? And I don't mean a company that puts one drop of jojoba oil in a gallon of emollient and then labels it jojoba moisturizer. If there are none on the market, how do the members on here mix up their own and what concentrations do they use? Do you mix it on the fly or do you pour so much moisturizer in a bottle then add the oil and shake it up?

Try this face mask instead mix all together INTO A PASTE and apply either to whole face or just where you have spots.
Multani Mitti (Fullers earth)
a pinch of haldi
drop of tea tree oil
all mixed in rose water
optional
lemon juice
Sandalwood powder (is a cooling dressing in inflammatory and eruptive skin diseases such as erysipelas, an inflammatory disease of the face and prurigo, an itchy eruption.)
Neem powder or oil. (It works as an antifungal, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory agent. It is effective in treating eczema, ringworm, boils, chronic ulcers, eruptions of smallpox, syphilitic sores and acne.)
this mixture helps dry out the spots, DO NOT use if you have dry skin! unless you add in Honey or Jojoba wax (oil) as the Multani mitti abosrobs the oil from the skin, it make your skin feel dry and tight.
this really help calm my spots last year after i had a really bad break out i went from no spots to a full face break out and nothing seemed to be working. I tried A SIMPLE mixture first of multani mitti and rose water this really helped i started adding in extra such as the tea tree oil and sandalwood powder with neem powder. You can find the right combination for your self and see what works with changing the ingredients.
I read up on multani mitti a lot and its benefits on acne. It is rich in minerals and when applied to the skin in the form of a paste, it helps improve circulation; it hardens slowly as it dries, and absorbing the dead cells on the top of the skin and dries up any excess oil. The mineral ingredient in fuller’s earth giving the absorbent action is the hydrated aluminium silicate. Grease of the skin, coats the particles of aluminium silicate and is lifted away from the skin when the mask is removed. It is therefore unsuitable for a dry skin but is excellent for an oily skin.
You can get all of the ingredients in powder form online and from Indian shops! (I used the powder versions also made enough to last a week for the first week did it every night then reduced it to three - four times a week as it can be very drying) but really helped doesnt work for ever and make sure you use a good facial cream after or even jojoba oil. It did help control the spots i had and helped with the sacring also. I added Tea Tree oil and neem powder for the antiseptic point and the sandlewood for the cooling effect it had on my skin. Lemon juice for the scaring and rose water to mix it has it gives it a nice smell.
Multani mitti was one of the earliest substances to ever be used as a beauty mask. It consists of a lime-rich clay from the far northwestern region of India to which is added rice bran and milk. Although it is an effective clay for improving the facial complexion, it is also used to draw toxins from the skin of the entire body. Scientifically, it has been shown to be bacteriostatic against gram positive bacteria; it can even be administered internally in cases of poisoning to decrease the absorption of the harmful substance. For a really interesting non-medical use of multani mitti read this short article. (http://www.niam.com/corp-web/facebdypacks.htm)
There are many masks that can be used with fullers earth it just trial and error and what works for you. I have medium brown inidan skin and found that adding yougurt or curd didnt help me. My sister found that with the lemon it stung to much so she uses it with out the lemon.

I just got by bottle of Acnetix with Free bottle of Pore Minimizer (EXTRA BONUS!)
I tried it that night. My first impressions:
1) pretty easy application
2) you can feel the mild exfoliant (walnut and redmond clay)
3) washes off pretty good
4) SKIN FEELS VERY SMOOTH AND CLEAN
5) First acnetix application: hope?
I repeated the application steps for morning and night, and to my astonishment, acnetix works pretty darn fast. My cheek acne (the worse part) has gone from about 8 zits to 2 in 3 days. My forehead (tons of small acne) is totally gone.
I haven't tried the pore minimizer yet, but ACNETIX works!

I decided to follow the pretty crazy-sounding idea of cutting off with acne products and let your skin be....
and it worked! My skin finally started clearing!!!
But then a relative of mine, through the goodness of her heart, whipped out about $75 to buy me some product that supposedly was "like magic".
:/ I couldn't not use it 'cause it would make her sad... (plus, she's really stingy and cheap. She'll save a penny whenever she can)
Then I exploded, broke out, arjdafksjfkla;sjfkl...
I'm gonna go back on the no-chemicals regimen, but my face is SO DRY after a shower!!!
Do you think it's okay to use baby lotion on your face? D;
All the lotions and moisturizers I have right now have salic acid or BP...
I sound retarded...I know...
sorry for the noob-ish question :[ Should I? D;

I've just sort of accepted it, but now that i've found acne.org I wanted to ask a question. What exactly is the scaly skin under my eyes? It looks like pores filled with oil so I thought it could've been from my oily skin. They're in a cluster under each eye that looks like scales.
Anyone else had this problem or know about it? Please?!?

I think I have pretty oily skin. Every time I finish taking a shower or washing my face, my face seems pretty oily within two hours. In some mirrors I look pretty OK, but whenever I'm outside and I look inside car windows or mirrors, the sun seems to reflect off my face! And then I touch my cheek w/ my wrist and see oil has transported off my face onto my wrist! It's sooo annoying.
Anyone else feel me on this?

I like to sleep on my side, mostly the right side and thats where I get the most pimples. I believe thats because when my face is smothered in the pillow, its all nice and warm there, there is no ventilation and the bacteria breed rapidly. I change my pillow cases fequently but I still get these cheek pimples. So I tried sleeping on my back yesterday. It was really hard and I am feeling very tired now b/c I didnt get a good night's sleep. I would like to hear from people who successfully switched to sleeping on their back and how they did it?

hey guys. I'm new but i have a question. i usually use Dove Beauty Body Wash for my skin and proactiv for my face. but i noticed that after i started using bar soap when my Dove ran out, acne started to appear around the chest area. because of this, i went back to the Dove Beauty Body and my chest went back to being clear. I had mild/moderate acne on my face even after months with proactiv, so i switched to using Clean and Clear Deep Cleanser and applying Neutragena Rapid Clear Face Lotion which uses Salicylic Acid for the past couple of days. it actually did get a little better than when i was using proactiv, but i can't help to wonder what would happen if i washed my face with the Dove beauty Body wash. Does anyone know if it would actually help clear up?
THanks for reading my post and for the help, and sorry if this is in the wrong spot, im still new to this.

I have a lot of small moles on the right side of my face which might even be worse than acne itself. Is there a way I could prevent from getting more moles in the future? Would sunscreen help in this case?

BASIC OVERVIEWBasically, our skin naturally, was structured for it to be able to control and maintain itself, just like how our body produces certain amount of hormones and etc to maintain homeostasis. It produces the optimum amount of moisture, and etc... Naturally, it's not flawful and acne prone. (There are exceptions however, just like some people are born without limbs, some people are born with a skin very prone to acne. Now, of course I took this into consideration so I wrote down on my first post who I believe would benefit the most from this (ie: people who have no acne anywhere else except their face))
Now, the problem with some of us is that we use SO much medications, chemicals, and etc at our mild or even low moderate acne that eventually and overtime, the chemicals contained on these products (BP included) destroy our skin structures. In analogy, it's just like bombarding a city to eliminate all the bad guys, but at the same time, killing innocent ones.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCEI am an acne sufferer. WAS an acne sufferer. I followed my research and experimented in my own skin. After a year, my results were excellent.
Here are mini updates I wrote in my journals regarding my condition:
UPDATES AND PROGRESS (Descending Order)QUOTE
1/11/06 UPDATE: Well... what can I say - I'm clear. Been clear for many months. I can officially say that my skin has finally recovered from all these chemical damages done from commercial products such as Pro-Activ, Murad, BP, and etc... I don't care about my skin anymore. I don't take care of it, don't look at it, and even go against my diet advices. Why? Because I never get BAD BREAKOUTS anymore, even when after eating boxes and boxes of chocolates, pizza, and spicy stuff. I'm glad I started this. It's been a struggle waiting paitiently and faithfully, but my God, it was worth it.
QUOTE
7/16/05 UPDATE: (what I wrote in my last post in this thread) I just want to bump this article for one last time. Every since I've been following my theory religiously, I keep getting better and better results. Now, which has been many many many months since I've started my product, my face is entirely different. Because my skin has REGENERATED AND REPLACED my old one that I had when I first wrote this thread, it is now completely new skin, undamaged and untouched by SKIN DAMAGING medication and products. Results? My own skin's natural defenses and structure keeps me from having acne. I am now, 99% clear! 99% only, because I have two which after many months of being clear, appeared. They're both fading now though.
EVEN MY REDMARKS FROM THE MOST RECENT PIMPLES now disappear QUICKLY (just weeks!), instead of waiting for 6 or so months! I don't know why, but it's probably because of my new and undamaged skin which can now properly repair itself.
QUOTE
3/24/05 UPDATE: It has been 5 to 6 months since I have started my regimen. For the first 3 months, I was getting results, but I still have acne (small ones). My acne never became worse since the third month. The next month, I have been improving, but slowly. I however, could not get past 3 BIG acnes. Everytime those 3 BIG acnes disappear, new ones appear. It was annoying. Every surface of my face is clear from acne though, but full of redmarks, which are worse than acne. At that point, my face responds to my DIET sensitively. Everytime I eat more than 3 pizza slices, I break out BIG TIME, but usually, small ones accompanied by a BIG ONE. In the past month, 5 months after this regimen, BIG acne has been reduced, and appear randomly in numbers, but never getting past 3. Sometimes, I get only one, then it would disappear, then the next week, two, then disappear. However, every other surface of my face is clear. Now, I don't have any BIG ONES, just one left, and even though it has been there for a while, I don't grow anymore acne, even small ones. I can now say that I am 95% clear, except for that one BIG one, and some small ones which aren't really noticeable unless it's really sunny and my face is magnified on a clear clear clear mirror. I am glad I found out this regimen early. I really am. I now wear make-up because my red marks are not completely healed. My skin texture has also improved, and has finally repaired itself, although not fully. I can't wait to see my fully recovered, and hopefully, free from redmarks and acne 5 months from now. I will still wear make-up though, because I seem to get fond of them already. I rarely get breakouts now because my skin has repaired itself, and because of that, my resistance to acne has greatly increased, that even if I eat more than 5 slices of pizza, I don't get anymore breakouts - maybe little ones, but I don't know since I don't look at my face in a magnifying glass anymore. I however, do have mild scars on some areas. I know there's nothign I could do with them, but they're not that bad, and with makeup, they look ok.

1/31/05 DISCOVERY: Alright, I have discovered something from experience, observation, collection of data, forums, people, etc. Wonder why you inherit acne form your parents? Well, no, you don't inherit acne from parents, but rather, their skin type. Acne is not inherited. No one in this world has a skin that is totally immune to acne, and no, not even the clear people you see today. Why so? It is because their skin type is one that is very strong from acquiring acne. Many of us who have acne are fated to have them because our skin is not strong enough, therefore, a little disturbance into our skin, such as hormonal changes, diet, and etc that alters our skin will make us breakout. This is why DIET very much affects acne. Well, why is it that even though you eat a box of chocolate and still not breakout while everything else makes you break out? Well, everyone has some kind of line, which depends on the strength of their digestive system, that they cannot cross. What I mean is that everyone can eat chocolate, sweets, etc, just as long as they don't cross that line because once you cross that line, then that's when what you eat affects your acne. The thing is: EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT LINES. This is why some people believe that diet does not affect acne at all. It is because they haven't crossed that line yet, which is maybe because of the effectiveness of their digestive system or etc. If you don't believe this, how about you try eating a room full of chocolates, that would for sure cross anyone's line.
You're really curious, so let's begin the topic
Just a note: This is not an absolute cure/prevention for acne. There is none. This however, will prevent acne up to 90% and the rest is up to diet, and etc. Also, this Regimen prevents us from the damaging effects of medications and commercial products. Read on to find out moreSo...Is this Miracle method? Nope, but it absolutely works!
Why? Because 10% of acne sufferers in this world are the only ones that have REAL ACNE. The rest of us don't. Then why do you have acne? Read on for more information.
Have you tried all medications available in the market, but acne still breaks out out from their shells? Well, guess what, you may have been thinking that you have a serious uncurable acne, but really, you might not.
If you have acne in face, mild to none on chest and back, or limbs and pubic area, and have tried all products including proactiv, benzoyl peroxide, anti-biotics, etc, but acne still exists and have become worst, then here's a reality check:
You are not suffering from a serious genetic acne or terrible unbalanced sebum production, but rather, your own works. Because of your paranoia, you use all these kinds of products from half-effective ProActiv, Murad, BP, and etc, and because of that, your face gets irritated and thinned and becomes worse, that your own face, from your own works, becomes more prone to acne).
---SO ALL THOSE COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS? THOSE ARE BS, and guess what, of course they minimize acne production, but the thing is, its maximum effect is just that, and nothing else. You may have had clear days that lasted for a week or two, but that's it. Pure luck. Now, it is proper to wonder why even after using ProActiv, Murad, BP, and etc for over a year, you still have breakouts even with your optimized diet---
---Also, your parents have little or no acne, which was present only in their teen, and your siblings don't have acne as serious as yours. How about you figure out what they're doing. They're not using as much medications as you right?---
(for a few only) Have you noticed that areas with acne, or had acne that you neglected before, is now clear? I had back acne, but I neglected it because no one sees my back anyways. So, after many months, or, maybe just weeks, my back is clear without me doing anything! Unbelievable? Yes, but TRUE!
Also, my forehead was the place of my first breakout. However, just like my back, not many sees my forehead because I made my front hair long and so, I just ignored it too. Until then, my forehead is clear!
Why, and how? I'll get more into that later.
If you ask me, I regret being manipulated by commercials and descriptions to buy expensive acne products, only to make your skin TRULY DEPENDENT on them.
---If you've been lurking around the internet, there are many posts about how people cured/prevented their acne by just using vinegar, or baking soda, or water, or lemon, etc, without prescription/over-the-counter drugs, or accutane.
Guess what? Those people are right. ALMOST right. While there are many who disagree with them and also those who bash them because their face have become worse, it is because we have different skin types.
So this method is only for specific number, but majority of people:
If your parents do not have acne right now, or that if they have little or no trace of scarring; if you have acne only on your face, and only in specific areas where you keep putting medications; if acne only exists on a section of your face; if you rarely get neck acne; if you have mild to moderate, but not serious acne on back or chest; if you have no acne growing on pubic area; if you have little or no acne growing on your limbs; if once in your lifetime, you have not been using medications, and as a result, you barely notice that your're clearing up, but when you continued medications, your acne flared up again, and became maybe worse for the first few weeks, then this method will work for you!
If all or most of those characteristics fit you, and you have no serious acne at all, so how about you listen to this: STOP YOUR MEDICATIONS. Well, of course, if you stop them, you would flare up pretty badly (maybe), and that you would lose courage, but if you trust me, and you have tremendous amount of luck, then you might not break out too bad, or even at all. But, read on, and I'll talk about how to prevent bad breakouts after stopping medications.
Ok, I already said that you must stop your medications, but here's another thing: have you ever noticed that the more you put medications, that area does not stop acne, but rather, still exists with even the slightest bumps. It may have stopped big acnes, but why do you still have slight bumps? Well, it is because the more you use medications, the more you irritate your skin, and destroy your glands, and disrupt the repair process, thus thinning your skin and permanently destroying your glands and making you more prone to acne. Now, for some of us, that's the reason why our parent's and sibling's face is scar and zit free, unless they use the same medication as you do.
-------------------------------
Here's a detailed explanation and steps on what should you do.
In order to prevent flare ups after you stop your medications, you must slowly decrease the amount or strength you use to your acne. For example, if you've been using benzoyl peroxide, when you stop it, damn, you'd get a hell of breakouts. Now, what, what should you do? Slow down the reaction by applying nothing in your face except vinegar, or to some, Cetaphil or anything as gentle as that. I'm not explaining how that works, but there's many posts about that. Of course, you will still break out, even after a month of stopping your medications and using vinegar.
However, after two or three months of using vinegar, you will certainly notice very very noticeable improvements both on your acne prevention and red marks. At that time, it is safe to stop the vinegar, and now, just apply one solution: WATER.
You might have little breakouts after you quit the vinegar and have a transition to water, but don't worry, they won't last long: maybe at most, a month. However, these aren't big breakouts. And, if you breakout, apply vinegar still, but make it a spot treatment. Because guess what, Vinegar is great great great on pulling out the white stuff, or puss, to the surface. In three days, that big pimple will be ready to pop, and you won't even have to pop it, because even by leaving it by itself will pop itself. However, the vinegar should just be applied as on-the-spot treatment.
At this point, you may have a lot of red marks from previous breakouts. Don't worry though, they'll disappear soon. However, it will take months or weeks for the lucky ones. Hydroquinone creams would work. Do not use them for more than a month though since I don't think prolonged use of hydroquinone is safe. If you have red marks, buy those chinese Pearl Cream or Placenta Creams because they're great on recovering and rebuilding skin. They contain nutritions needed to help rebuild skin.
Alright, well, now you're applying water as your morning and night treatment. I advise you to not wash your face more than twice. How about when you're having stressed days? How about when you have to stay late at night for homework or other stuff? Well, here's what you do. Carefully observe your skin under a light using a small clear handy mirror. If you see that your skin is getting oily, and really oily, then it is probably time to wash - with just water. I prefer hot water.
However, at those stressed nights, still have a limit on how much you wash your face. Three to four times is the MAX. Continue with the water, I prefer HOT WATER, but not too hot. Just the max the faucet can go. So after a month of just using water and maybe those chinese placenta creams and sunscreen (I prefer sunscreens with collagen and vitamin E), your face should be clearing up. Maybe a little bumps, but those are really nothing and won't be noticeable. After many many months of just using water and nothing else, you'll finally be fully independent from medications and even vinegar! Congratulations.
Remember however, this is a process that needs a lot of patience, courage, and common sense.
I really hope I figured this sooner. I really could have prevented acne earlier and its scars.
Good luck everyone.
Here's some proven working tips to minimize breakouts. I do some of them, and sometimes, none of them, but I still don't get breakouts anymore! Why? Because my skin is not so thin and damaged anymore from Medications! However, if I like go back to Benzoyl Peroxide, I would certainly have to follow all of these tips because I will become even more prone to acne. But why should I go back to BP if I have clear skin already?
-NO SALT and NO SUGAR. I am exagerrating, because in order to function, we need those, but it's the my only way of saying minimize salt and sugar intake. Unfortunately, this really affects acne.
-Irregular Sleeping does not cause acne, but stress does. It causes more oil production. If you read all the rest of my paragraphs, you should know what to do about this.
-Exercise a lot! It might help, but I really don't know. However, do it still since it's good for your body and attraction points.
-This tip works: Drink water an hour or two before and after eating. Works for me, and many others. Very good advice to follow
-Green Tea is good. I don't know if it helps prevent acne, but it makes you poop more and release all toxins effectively.
-Gargling Baking Soda and water helps prevent bad breath
-Vinegar a day gets the puss away
-Don't touch, or pick, or even feel your face
-Eat right
-Chocolate and sweets are really bad. To a degree, you can eat, but once you pass a certain line, it will soon cause damage to your skin.
-search for topics with keywords: Vinegar, Baking Soda, Lemon, No washing.
-FINALLY, my last and best tip! For RED Marks, Baking Soda is better than VINEGAR. It is very gentle and works like magic. Let it stay for an hour or so at your face, then rinse.
There you go.
Have fun.
Remember, there are no overnight solutions, not even weekly solutions, but there are monthly solutions, and this one is the greatest one.
Also, bums don't have acne, and people in the past rarely get acne, so think about it.
In conclusions, here's some of the Regimen tips:
-If you have been using medications such as Benzoyl Peroxide, and choose to follow this great Regimen, a good transition product would be Vinegar, then finally to Water
-Some effects of transitions would probably be initial breakouts. However, if you follow the tips I've given above, you could minimize it
-Use the transition product, ie: Vinegar, or something else, for at least a month or two. Then, when all the big zits and cysts have gone (Vinegar is great for that), and when all that's left are typical mild acnes, then start the Water
-Water is best when kinda hot. I haven't tried with cold water because hot water has been working, and if it ain't broke, don't change it. Also, hot water seems to be more effective in washing off the oil and stuff, so go with hot water
-However, each of our skin are different. There's a line between too hot and not hot enough. Me, I use the Maximum hot water my faucet can give, which doesn't really irritate my skin. Ya, it will be red for a minute because water is hot.
-Maximum washing time: 30 seconds or less. No scrubbing or stuff needed. Just gentle swipe.
-When drying it, just pat the towel. And there you go. I however, advise you to put sun block (I prefer ones with Vit. E and Collagen) 5 minutes after you washed your face in the Morning.
-At night, I prefer some kind of regeneration cream. Chinese stuff works such as Placenta creams that has nutrients for the skin. Stuff with collagen and Vit. A, E and etc are great too. Just remember that it has to be non-comedogenic.
-Also, if you have school or work, when you get home, wash your face and put some kind of cream. Not a moisturizing cream. That totals to 3 washes. Morning, middle wash, and night wash.
Note: The point of the transition product is to minimize breakouts when going from medication to water. Going directly from medication to water would be a breakout galore.
Good luck and
HAVE FUN!

I started to break out moderately and consistantly last December (07). From that period on I tried Dans regiment for a while, but only saw moderate improvments. I would go a month clear and then another month with a few spots. Anyways, In June I moved to a new city. My acne was still moderate but consistant. I decided to use an old tube of Retin A that I had from the past. I had some hyperpigmentation from the acne so instead of using a pea sized amount, I put a lot of it on my face. Almost like a lotion. When the Retin A ran out, I ordered a few tubes of Tazorac .1%. Since then I have been doing the same routine every night. I put a ton of Tazorac on my face.
I think doing this might have inadvertantly caused a bad side-effect for me. Before moving I do not recall having particularly oily skin. I am sure I had a little oil production on my nose, but definitely not what I experience now. Thinking back, I only began to realize the excessive oil production when I started globbing Retin A on my face. At first I attributed my increased oil production to the change in climate in my new town, but I went down to my old city for a week and there was no change in oil on my face. All the while I continued to use the Tazorac.
I haave looked on the retinol board and there seems to be a lot of people who experience increase oil production while on retinoids. I think I am one of those people. I also want to point out something else with my skin. I only seem to be oily in the daytime. When I go to sleep and wake up I am usually completely dry. I thought maybe the oil was being wiped on my pillow, so last night I decided to sleep on my back without my face touching anything and I woke up this morning as dry as the average person. Prior to my incrreased oil production I have had a history of my skin being really dry. In fact, I would always carry moisturizer with me because my skin would get so dry and dull. With all that, I really think it is the retinoids that made my skin in to a grease ball.
Any thoughts?

So I recently bought Doves Cool moisture foaming cleasner and it works really well. I have dry skin, and after using it my skin wasn't dry at all! The only negative thing is that it really irritates my skin. My face went red afterwards and it stung slightly. Is this just because I've switched cleasners? Other cleansers tend to make my skin dry, but this one really hydrated my skin but irritated it as well.. and I don't know if I should switch cleansers or not... (my skin is naturally really sensitive)

i wanted to use a tanning bed to get ready for a big party i'm having- but i know it can hurt the skin and make you break out in the long run
but if i only did it for like four minutes at a time, twice, would that be ok? i'm only doing them for this one week, though i usually get one right before summer starts just to jump off a little summer glow

Ive recently bought Almay Clear Complexion liquid foundation with 2% salicylic acid, and I usually wear spf 15 mosturizer beneath my makeup. I know that salicylic acid causes more sun damage without the appropriate protection. But the spf 15 mosturizer underneath my almay foundation enough to protect my skin??? Should I find a powder with a certain spf over the foundation and mosturizer as well???? thanks for any hellp in advance!!!!!!

Do any of you find that when you first wake up in the morning, your skin actually looks GOOD? I have mild acne, so the pimples are not usually as much of an issue for me as the texture and tone of my skin is.
I find that when I first wake up, my skin tone looks good, I'm just a little oily and my skin feels and looks smooth. But as the day goes on, I have a few small flesh colored bumps on my left cheek that become noticeable to me, my skin tone is not as even as it was when I first woke up and of course my skin is oily within a few hours. And sometimes I notice other small blemishes as well. By the late afternoon/early evening, I can't wait to wash my face, especially if I don't apply any powder or don't use an oil blotting sheet during the day.
Everyone who I ask about my skin tells me that they don't notice the flesh colored bumps unless they are very close to my face or I point them out, which I can understand because I only have a few and they are small and they tend to come and go depending on stress and what type of product I am using on my skin. People do agree with me though that my skin is oily, there is no denying this!
It's so strange to me that my skin looks good and feels smooth when I first wake up but as the day goes on, things go downhill from there. Anyone else experience this? Maybe it's because of my skin being oily, and other environmental factors?
My skin and my makeup look good for about 2 hours before things need to be touched up.

Is there any reason why my forehead gets really oily, while the rest of my face is fine? I wake up in the morning and it's ugh...ugly to look at. During the day I have to use oil blotting tissues, especially if I'm outside somewhere. It's damn hectic when you have people around and you need to wipe your forehead.

BioChemBabe's Zeno ReviewHi everyone! I promised to post pictures and write a review. So, here it is:
Immediately after taking the box out of the shipment packaging, I was impressed. The Zeno box splits in half vertically to reveal the device and an user’s manual secured onto the sruface of the opposite half. Tucked away behind the owner’s manual is the charger.

The Owner’s manual (available online at www.myzeno.com) answered all of my questions I had and I could have had. There’s a nice trouble shooting section and pages of “DO NOT do tips. However, after reading all of the “do not rules, I was asking myself, “What CAN I do?
I started charging the device directly into an outlet like advised. The flashing blue light seemed more of a warning for “take off than a sign of steady charge.

I followed the instructions to the “t and placed the device on a pretty good sized pimple. The directions state that treatments are 2 ½ minutes long. Don’t worry though about timing it. The device comes with it’s own internal timer that gives off a beep every 30 seconds and then multiple beeps when the treatment session is over.
I can’t lie about how it feels. I don’t have sensitive skin at all. In fact, I think my skin is very tough when it comes to products and heat – just not when it comes to pimples. LOL. Well, anyway, I can’t lie about the uncomfortable feeling when the device is held to my skin. It gets pretty hot and sometimes feels like it is going to burn. Anyone with sensitive skin, I don’t know if you would like it. It’s not unbearable, but it’s not unnoticable either. I’m writing part of this review 40 minutes after one treatment session and I can still kind of feel it on my pimple.
The instructions warns that the device will probably leave a red spot shortly after treatment. Yeah, Ok! **rolls eyes** It left my skin very red and angry. Of course, the initial redness and warm feeling went away.
After 24 hours, my original pimple I treated with Zeno was completely gone. There was some redness, which I am not sure is scarring or irritation. However, I paid for it to zap zits not work miracles. So, in a nutshell, I’m very happy with the results.
Pimple above jawline:

5 hours after one treatment:

24 hours after one treatment:

Pimple on the side of my face:

5 hours after one treatment:

Notice that the neighboring smaller pimples that weren't in direct contact with the treament seemed to have somehow been affect by it because they are smaller too.
Here are my Pros and Cons:
Pros:-small, hand-held for travel, thin, and not heavy at all
-very easy to use with simple instructions
-you get 90 uses before you have to replace the cartrige
-treats “regular pimples/acne that love to invade my face
-“catches upcoming pimples before they mature into monsters
- noticable and positive results within hours of use and pimple is “dead within 24 hours
Cons:-Price! It’s averaging at over $200
-Doesn’t feel too good when going through the treatments
-I believe it can burn you if you have sensitive skin
-Replacement cartrige is $30+
-Doesn’t treat white/black heads or fungus
-Doesn’t treat nodular acne or scars
-Fairly new out on the market, so there are limited case studies
Please forgive the poor quality photos. I am not a professional photographer. lol.

I was wondering, Since Benzoyl Peroxide is too strong for people with very sensitive skin, and Salicylic Acid isn't doing much for them. Is there any other options they can use besides Accutane?
If so, please help name some products that you recommend.
Thanks.

http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/index.php...and I got scared a little after realizing that many of the products I use may be cancerous. According to this retin-a ( listed as retonic acid ) has a high risk of causing cell mutation over time. What do you guys think? Is this reliable or is it just a bunch of bullshit to scare us.

Moisturizers no longer "dry" on my skin like they used to -- Instead, they all make my face stick to my pillow.
Neutrogena, Olay, Cetaphi - You name it, I've tried it and they all make my face feel sticky/greasy. My skin has gotten fairly oily lately so that doesn't help.
Suggestions, anyone??

Is there anyone who knows anything about the content of the cure that's being presented at
http://www.acnefreein3days.com/ (as well as a dozen of other pages). They wont give a clue on how to do it and want money from it. It sounds like a hoax to me, but please just tell me what there might be that gives that result!
