MissEligia, you really cannot, or should not, try to guage your results for a good 3-4 months. Some of your scars will begin to reappear as time passes. You are still quite swollen, although you may not be able to tell. Depending on the extent of your scarring it can take 3-4 lasers for you to be satisfied with the results. I posted a whole page of informational links called Laser Link-O-Rama, and there is a ton of information on those sites.

Day 6, a lot of the swelling and redness is gone and I am down to just using Cetaphil Moisturizer and a little Neosporin of a couple of red marks. Going a little stir-crazy as witnessed by my frequent posts. I have all these channels and there is nothing on TV. I have worn out the financial and sports sites(there is only so much I can say about the latest Red Wing game) and this one also. Flying to Florida in 3 days.

I know you're right... I'm just anxious... Waiting is boring. Still, I don't know if I'm that swollen anymore. People here talk about "microswelling". I have always had swelling after my treatments (excision, tca, dermabrasion), but I don't know if there has been anything "micro" in it. Now, 9 days after activefx/deepfx, I think my skin is not swollen anymore. I hope it will get better though.
Good luck with your healing!

MissElegia, trust me, unless you received a very light treatment there is still microswelling. The body just doesn't heal that fast. That is why I am telling you not to get disappointed if results don't meet expectations. This is a cumulative process. I checked the Reliant site today and I see where even they have changed their tune about multiple treatments - they were preaching "One-and-Done", but now I see them mentioning multiple treatments to achieve desired results. One of the initial big selling points of the Re:pair Laser was "One-and-Done", and there are some doctors who haven't got out of that mode. Multiple treatments are almost always needed for acne scars, and that gets expensive, but most doctors cut big discounts for subsequent treatments. You eat an elephant one bite at a time and your treat acne scars one procedure at a time.

Day 7 and all is going well. A little flaking this morning which suprised me considering all the Cetaphil I have been slathering on. Most of the redness is gone and the red marks are diminishing.

Glad to hear all is going well for you. As I mentioned, I had my treatment done on September 23. This week my skin is so dry that I am flaking. My derm said three weeks ago that it was time for a retinoid and that I could go back to my regular face wash which is a presription Clenia. My skin is so dry that I have disontinued the retinoid and gone back to the Aquinil wash. I'm sure the weather doesn't help as it is getting much colder out. Just so unusual for me cuz I'm usually oily.
Do you explect to do another repair treatment or too soon to tell? Have a wonderful vacation in Florida and keep that sunscreen on!!!!!!

2 Weeks now and all of the redness is gone except for a tiny red spot under the nose. I am a bit amazed at how fast I healed this time. For the first time in my life I am questioning whether I have the need to continue.

Hey, dudley, I have a question. How bad were your scars prior to all the Fraxel treatments?

Sign, by looking at the procedures I have done that should tell you how bad the scars were. As short as 2 years ago I had the extreme fire in my belly to treat them, now the fire has waned. The improvement from the Fraxel Re:pair is so gradual that you don't realize the changes you are going through. I think a lot of people don't get the treatements at a high enough level to realize the maximum results. As with anything in life with risk comes either reward or consequences. I was lucky enough to be able to fly through 70 mj-60% treatments with no problems. I believe this equates to a 1.6mm laser penetration. I have heard many people getting treated at <1 mm and they are just not going to see the same results, hence the dissapointment you hear from these people. My 3 Re:pair treatments are the very best $8,000 I have spent in my whole life.
