I saw my nieces on the weekend. My three year old niece noticed a pimple on my face and said, "You have an ouchy" looking all concerned. I said, "I know".

Then she said, "But I still love you" and gave me a big hug.

How cute is that? Made me laugh...

Accutane & Hair - products and colouring

Hi everyone

Just after some advice. I'm about 2 weeks into my accutane journey and my scalp has started to get quite dry, not my hair so much just my scalp. Can anyone recommend a good shampoo and conditioner for this? Also I'm wondering about the effects of colouring my hair while on accutane. I had read somewhere that you are not supposed to. Usually I get an overall colour and a few highlights. Any opinions from people who have coloured their hair on accutane and the effects?

Less Neck Pain on Accutane??

I have a strange question. I got hit by a car about a year ago (yes I know very dramatic but nothing too serious), and I've had a bad neck ever since. Usually gets quite sore at the end of each day etc.

So I've recently started on accutance (day 13) and feel like my neck pain has got a lot better since I started accutane. I haven't really had any pain at all. Which is strange because I know one of the side effects can be muscle/bone aches etc.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this??

Hi everyone

I've recently started on accutane and as I want to keep track of my own progress I thought I would start a log and hopefully help some other people on the way!

I'm female, 24 and have been suffering from acne for almost as long as I can remember, probably about 12. The same as everyone else on here I've tried pretty much everything and also my acne isn't too bad I've had enough. I went to see the dermatologist who put me straight on accutane.

I'm up to day 12 today on 40mg once a day. So far so good really. My regimen consists of the following:

Morning
- Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser (face and body)
- Avene Thermal Spring Water
- Avene Skin Recovery Cream
- Avene TriXera+Selectiose Emollient Cream (for very dry patches when required)
Night
- Avene Extremely Gentle Cleanser
- Avene Thermal Spring Water
- Avene Skin Recovery Cream
- Avene TriXera+Selectiose Emollient Cream (for very dry patches when required)
(I've also just started trying Clinique Clarifying Lotion at night but not sure if this is too harsh, any suggestions?)
Makeup
- Clinique City Block
- Clinque SuperFit Foundation
- Clinque stick concealer
Lips
- LOVE Lucas' Papaw Ointment!

Overall I am very happy with the products I am using. My skin isn't too bad really, I get some flakeyness on my nose, chin, forehead and eyebrows but am combating that with the products quite well. I did really struggle with a suitable foundation but found Clinique SuperFit over the weekend and absolutely love it. My lips have been very dry but honestly the papaw ointment is a god send.

Side effects so far have been OK. I feel like I've been getting headaches a lot more but other than that not too bad. I've been trying to each lots of fruit and veg and drink heaps of water. My pimples did get a bit worse in the first week but seem to have calmed down now. I'm just waiting for the clear skin to start!

Would love to hear from anyone who might be going through the treatment around the same time as me, or anyone who has any questions or suggestions!
