I'm in the middle of my 5th week on the Regimen and I'm clearing up smile.gif I would like to fade the red marks on my face that are left before school starts, however, and because I happen to have a tube of Maderma in my bathroom drawer, I was wondering if this was an effective, non-comodogenic acne scar treatment. I just got done reading another thread on the effectiveness of olive oil on red marks, and I would like to try that, but I thought I'd see what people had to say about Maderma as well!

As I was looking through my pictures today, it came to me: When I had short hair, I was usually clear, but as soon as my hair started to grow in length, the acne came back.

I don't hear much about hair being a factor in acne, and I never really thought about it because I keep my hair clean and change my pillow case often. Before I do something drastic like go and get a hair cut razz.gif I thought I'd take a poll and see how many of you have long hair and stubborn acne as well! (Or short hair and clear skin). Thanks!

So, I really enjoy riding my bike. It's pretty good excercise and gives me a chance to get some fresh air. But, of course, I have to wear a helmet. I know that it's not a good idea to wear hats with acne, so I'm sure that helmets are much worse. Would you say that the con of wearing a helmet during cycling outweighs the pro of some excercise?
About this time last year, and friend and I were doing a ton of cycling. Like 25 miles every day. This was also around the time that I had a miraculous clear up. So...I don't know what the other factors were at the time that may have improved my acne, but I know that it didn't make it worse. Does anyone else have any experience with this?

So I have about 6 whiteheads on my face right now that are really bugging me, but I'm not going to pop them, because it seems to me that the cons of popping outweigh the pros. I have a brother who uses Proactiv, and I noticed his thing of Refining Mask on the counter. Isn't the purpose of a mask like this to draw out impurities and make healing quicker? Is it a good idea to put something like this on during the Regimen? Will it help or make things worse? Does anyone have any other ideas of how to make these existing white heads clear up faster? eusa_shifty.gif

I'm 16, and I've had acne since I was about 13. It progressively grew worse until the beginning of my sophomore year, when it cleared up for almost the whole school year. All that I did to treat it during this time was wash my face in the morning! But, around the end of school/beginning of summer it came back with a vengeance, and I haven't kept it clear since.
I would describe my acne as moderate/severe, and I mainly find difficulty with cysts on my cheeks and forehead.
I started the Regimen on July 20th, using Acnezine's 5% BP cream and their pills as a supplement (along with zinc). I apply the BP morning and night after washing with a Basis face bar. Afterwards, I use Cetaphil moisturizing lotion (and just recently, Jojoba oil, which has so far helped my complexion, but not my acne). After a week I cleared up a little, but once I started getting red and peely it got worse.
I have missed this a couple of mornings, and on a few occasions I am sure that I have used too much BP, because I don't have any way of measuring how much I use. I am a healthy eater (of course there are occasional exceptions) and I drink plenty of water. I change my pillow case every 3-4 days and I do my best to avoid sun exposure.
After a month of no results, I thought that I would see if anyone had any suggestions or corrections that I could apply to my program. Thanks!

I was also curious about the rumors that Maderma can work on acne scars? Is this a good idea?
