I could type up a several hour long read regarding my problems with acne throughout the years, but I'm going to refrain from that and just get you up to speed on what my problem is now...

About a month ago, I flew down to Florida to help my mother pack her things so she could move back to Michigan. I also went there to visit an allergist since I've been having quite a few health concerns. Before I left, my skin had quite a few red marks left from the tiny and sometimes large zits that I would frequently get and I had blackheads all over my nose. That's basically what my skin was like for the last 2-3 years.

Upon visiting the allergist, I made out a fairly long list of all the symptoms I had, which included acne. As he went through the list, he basically shut down any kind of hope I had of finding out what was wrong. He mentioned allergies wouldn't be causing my acne (despite what everyone else says) and checked off the majority of the symptoms I had on my list. I left the office extremely depressed and I thought I was losing my mind.

However, during the next following weeks while I was there in Florida, I started to notice a huge change. I started to get a tan, which not only helped cover up any dark spots but they eventually disappeared completely. Some of my health problems (which includes shortness of breath, white coated tongue, tiredness, and a fast heart-rate) began to slightly alleviate and I felt like I had more energy. My skin was also just starting to look amazing for the first time in years. Even the blackheads that used to cover my nose were gone and my pores looked a lot smaller. I should also mention that it wasn't as oily either.

Just as it looked like things were turning around for me, I eventually had to go back to Michigan. Two or three days after I returned, it seemed like ALL of my symptoms came back and my skin started to break out and look terrible once again. It has been about a week since then (I returned on the 23rd) and it looks like nothing had changed at all...still breaking out.

Summary
Skin was pretty terrible in Michigan.
Went to Florida and skin started to clear up and look great.
Any other health concerns seemed to be subsiding.
Came back to Michigan and all of my symptoms returned.

Now, I have absolutely no idea what the hell is going on. Vitamins and supplements don't seem to have any effect whatsoever and the allergist tells me it wasn't allergies...

Considering all of this, does anyone have an idea they could throw me for what is possibly going on?

After 2 or 3 years of not knowing why I kept breaking out, I saw a nutritionist a couple days ago and found out my adrenals were functioning very poorly, if at all, which have been causing my breakouts. He gave me something called Drenamin along with some other supplements which are supposed to help take the stress off of them and eventually heal me.

He told me to give it about a week before I start seeing results, and while it's only been 3 days now, my face has actually broken out quite a bit more. So I'm curious, would you consider this normal? Is my skin purging or is it just reacting to the supplements? These are questions I plan on asking my doctor next week, but I was just wondering...

Ok, so I've basically tried everything I could think of besides Accutane. Nothing has worked so far and it almost seems like it's getting worse. I never want to go anywhere or do anything, I almost feel like I'm going insane.

Here's a list of everything (that I remember) I have tried so far:

Benzaclin
Differin
Duac
Zinc Cream
Proactiv
Murad
Jojoba Oil
Nizoral 2% (thought it was a fungas causing my problems, didn't work)
Minocycline
Omega 3/6/9
Mulit-Vitamin/Mineral (no iodine)
B-Complex 100
Vitamin B5 500mg
Various cleansers/moisturizers

Is Accutane really my last hope? My mother suggested that I might have an adrenal gland problem, but at this point now I have NO idea whatsoever. I'm going to see a doctor next Wednesday, who I have seen before but I'm also going to have a blood test. Even though I look like crap, I try my best to take care of my skin. I wash it twice a day, moisturize, take my vitamins, anything that would keep it healthy and yet, every morning for what seems like no reason at all, I have new zits or bumps that have the junk in them all over my face.

Has anyone else tried most of these? If they didn't work, what did you find that did?

I'm 22 years old now, and I've been dealing with this problem for a couple years. I've tried Murad, Proactiv, Differin, Minocycline, Duac, you name it, I've probably tried it. As of a couple months ago, I started using Dan's products and regimen. I've also been taking a B-Complex, B5, fish oil, a one-a-day vitamin and I've tried exfoliating everyday. And while they have been helping by making my skin way less oily, this problem STILL persists.

My acne is relatively non-inflammatory, but I get these whiteheads (closed comedones, I suppose)
all over my face, frequently on my back, and rarely on my chest. If I squeeze them, the substance that comes out is pretty solid and it looks like a white bead. They can be small and at other times, pretty large.

Can anyone tell me WHAT is going on?! Is there some kind of fungus or something that's making my acne worse? It's making me lose my mind and I'm beginning to lose the hope that I'll ever have clear skin...

Also, this may be beside the point, but for quite a long time now I've noticed that my scalp is pretty flakey. It doesn't show up as dandruff at all, but if I scratch my head I notice I get this crust from it between my nails. Is there a possible link?

Earlier today I bought an Omega 3/6/9 supplement and a men's multivitamin/mineral (no iodine or iron) to go along with the B5 I was taking. However, I'm not sure in which order I should be taking these throughout the day.

Should I just take one of each after breakfast, then follow-up with one omega and B5 after every other meal?
