Went to see a new derm she was so awesome and helpful!!! She actually listened to me and was the first derm who actally looked at my skin!! She prescribed 75mg of spironolactone and Im going to keep taking minocycline and retina-A too! She also told me to buy a face wash with benzoyl peroxide she recommended panoxyl! She was caring and knew what she was taking about Im glad I called around and asked if they incorpated spiro into there treatment. This office was so nice and Im glad i found a great derm. I will be returning to her office in about 6 weeks to see how my skin is doing! I'll keep you posted with my progress!! =)

So Im not giving up on getting prescribed spironolactone! I called around to derm offices and asked them if they incorporate spiro in there treatment for acne and alot said yes, I was surprised after my medical doctor said it wasnt used for acne. Of course the derm offices said that I would have to talk to the derm first and they would give me whatever they felt would work best for me . I'm just glad its an option in there office since nothin else has worked for me! Still breaking out and have been on the minocycline almost a month and in june and july was on the doxycycline and still no results. Sick of this and my skin is still extremely oily! Acne everywhere mostly on cheeks and jawline. I've had a few painful ones too!! Any tips on how to persuad the derm to get me on spironolactone??? LOL Thanks guys and everyone on spiro please let me know how its been going and if its working wonders for your skin. Wish me luck on wednesday!!!Thanks again

So I went to the doctor hoping he would prescibe me spironolactone but hey didnt. Instead he gave minocin which is a antibotic and retina-A. I felt like he didn't care and had no options for me besides antibotics or acctuane but he said seen I dont have thosands of dollars to get it i should try the pills and cream. I hate acne. I feel like its never going to go away and these damn doctors dont give a crap.

So I've been doing so much research on acne. Looking for different options to clear up my skin for good. Im 21 yrs old and still suffering from break outs. I've tried it all it seems like(proactiv, murad, clean & clear kit, retin-A, doxycline, home remedies, diet change) When I first started using the antibotic doxycline my face started clearing up and I changed my diet also which helped. I got off the pill and started using it again. Now its not working i guess i became immune to it. I dont know anymore. I started getting horrible scars too which is awful=( My skin is so oily! Its pretty gross especially when I use the oil absoring sheets to see how much oil is on my skin. I think its hormonal and I really wanna try Spironolactone. I wonder if my doctor would prescribe it to me. I heard its to help blood pressure and not to control acne. So many people use it for acne. Does any one know if its super expensive if you have no insurance??????????? Please let me know. Im really considering trying this medication to improve my acne.
