I took it for about 3 months and only saw results for about 3 weeks after on my third month, then my acne returned.

Hey i was just wondering if anyone out there has tried doryx before, my sister starting taking it about a year ago and it completly cleared up her skin, i was thinking about trying ti but wondered if anyone else had similar results I took Doryx for a few months, and my skin seemed a little better, but unfortunately I started having serious joint pain and swelling that I had never experienced before. I got bloodwork done and ended up with a positive ANA (an indicator for Lupus). To make a long story short, I was told by a rheumatologist to discontinue the Doryx as she thought I may be experiencing a somewhat rare condition known as drug-induced Lupus. Sure enough, my symptoms went away, and my bloodwork came back completely normal a few weeks later. If you begin to experience joint pain, swelling, or a rash, see your doctor right away. Currently I'm taking Oracea (which is a much lower dose of antibiotic than Doryx) and tolerating that just fine. Also taking Seasonique (BCP) and using Metrocream, Differin gel and Clindamycin gel. Since starting the Oracea I definitely have "good days" when my skin is clear, but I still break out. Next step will be to add Spiro according to my derm... |
