So since switching to the very strict routine of dan's regimen with nothing added or diff.
I decided to switch out makeup as well. He says to use the almay smartshade.
Well, iam hispanic. I have relatively light brown skin, but i also have redmarks and brown spots, in addition to little freckles on cheeks and nose, and when i have acne on my freckles it looks like a big mess, and can't tell whats what.lol
So, i was wondering if anyone who is hispanic or light brown skin color has used this and found it matched your skin?
And do you all think this would be ok makeup for me? (rignt now i don't have much acne except for a couple of whiteheads left)
And would i apply w/ foundation brush? i always apply makeup w/ brush but wasnt sure since of the type of makeup this is.

well i've been using the mineral veil for about 2 months now, same time i started Dan's regimen. i apply it 10-20 minutes after i apply the moisturizer. the reason why i use the mineral veil is because after i use the moisturizer, my face get's so oily in a matter of hours and the mineral veil is designed to absorb surface oils and it also reduces the redness of my skin afterwords. i have been getting a few long lasting breakouts once or twice a week and i'm concerned whether or not if it's from the mineral veil or from something else. when using the mineral veil my face appears to be not oily, but it is not dry and i actually feel as if my skin is oily, so i don't think the acne i've been getting is from my body attempting to over-oil my face. i would test it, but without the mineral veil my face is terrible. opinions?

I have worn make up less than ten times in the past two years because it breaks out my face. I was wondering if there was anything out there would not have this effect. I need something that wont break me out even if I do not wear it everyday.

I bought one of these about 9 months ago. According to the recent study, sleeping on a copper fiber pillowcase really does reduce wrinkles and improve skin appearance. The only research that was available before this were the clinical trials done by the company that makes the pillowcases. Nice to see additional confirmation from this new study!
Improvement of facial skin characteristics using copper oxide containing pillowcases: a double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel, randomized study
Authors: Borkow, G.1; Gabbay, J.1; Lyakhovitsky, A.2; Huszar, M.3
Source: International Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 31, Number 6, December 2009 , pp. 437-443(7)
Abstract:
Synopsis
Copper plays a key role in several processes of skin formation and regeneration. Copper has been shown to be absorbed through intact skin. We hypothesized that sleeping on fabrics containing copper-impregnated fibres would have a positive cosmetic effect on the skin. The aim of this study was to confirm our hypothesis. A 4-week, double blind, parallel, randomized study was carried out in which 57 volunteers aged 40-60 years used either copper oxide containing pillowcases (0.4% weight/weight) or control pillowcases not containing copper. Photographs were taken by a professional photographer of each participant at the beginning of the study and at 2 and 4 weeks after the commencement of the study. Two expert graders (a dermatologist and a cosmetologist) evaluated the pictures for the effect on several cosmetic facial skin characteristics. The copper-containing pillowcases had a positive effect for the following facial characteristics: reduction of wrinkles (P < 0.001) and crow's feet/fine lines (P < 0.001) and improvement of general appearance (P < 0.001) at both 2 and 4 weeks. The differences were statistically significant (Wilcoxon scores and chi-squared tests). Consistent sleeping for 4 weeks on copper oxide containing pillowcases caused a significant reduction in the appearance of facial wrinkles and crow's feet/fine lines and significant improvement in the appearance of facial skin. In most trial participants, this effect was already noticeable within 2 weeks of using the copper oxide containing pillowcases.

New Hair Loss Preventative Shampoo Zenagen?
I saw a commercial for a new shampoo called Zenagen (http://www.zenagen.com/). The commercial said the product is brand new and helps protect against hair loss. Looked it up online and it looks like a really solid product. Anyone used it?

- Either a light/medium daily moisturiser or suncream (nothing TOO heavy)
- Spf of 15 or above. *Essential*
- Not tinted
- Not a gradual tanner
- Will not make me shiney! Ie. Matte *Essential*
- Organic or Non-Organic, I don't mind for now
- Preferabley available in UK (I can order from america but it takes around a month to arrive)
I use glycolic acid so SPF is absolutely necessary. I haven't used ANY spf up until now and have been using glycolic for several months.
Any recommendations?

I know a lot of you will be getting dressed up for Halloween, but how will you manage your makeup?
I'm thinking of going boring and sticking to "vampire" or "zombie" (the latter is preferable, as I really don't want to be mobbed by Twilight fangirls)... either way, my costume ideas require semi-dramatic makeup. I'd really like to use fake blood as well, but don't think I can smear this all over my face without facing dire consequences. It would definitely be fun to go all out though, and wear the most ridiculous makeup ever.
How are you guys going to deal with Halloween makeup? What do you plan on using?
Sidenote: I love this holiday so much.

So today I went out shopping, planning to buy myself the Estee Lauder foundation Double Wear. I really like this foundation due the amount of coverage it offers, I hardly ever need to use concealer with it and it lasts all day. Yet the only problem I have with this foundation is that I am in between two shades! Plus if I sweat it tend to go cakey in some patches around my forehead. So lately I have just been mixing two different shades of the samples size I had. But today I ran out! I was planning on perhaps just buying the darker shade of this foundation and just pray to God that I tan soon. But then my friend suggested that we stop in on this make-up store called 'B Never too busy to Be Beautiful' or something like that. I think it's a branch from the store 'Lush'.
So I went in, just out of curiousity, planning to maybe just pick up a sample of their foundation to just play around with and see how it compares to the almighty Double Wear. But in the end I left the store with a foundation and highlighter! And I have to say WOW this foundation feels like I have nothing on my face, unlike the Double which can get a bit heavy and it's coverage is just as great as Double Wear. The main reason I bought their cream foundation though is because the color match was perfect for me. I have never ever found a foundation that matched my skintone so well. Not even with MAC

And the ingredient list is pretty short to my surprise. It's also vegan friendly and not tested on animals! So if anyone is in need of trying out a new foundation, I recommend getting a sample of B's cream foundation! The only comment I have is that the foundation shades are limited so I doubt they have a shade light enough for very fair skin or dark skin but otherwise I love it!

Well basically I went down to a local beautician with a friend to get our eyebrows shaped.
The lady asked me what skin products I was using as my skin was quite enflamed (or something along them lines). I told her I had tried every single treatment in the world (obviously not literally but it is starting to feel that way) and she told me that if I was to book an appointment with her for a facial that it would really help to clear up my skin.
It's not severe, but I feel so concious of it all the time.
It's really holding me back.
Problem is it's quite expensive and I have a limited spending budget...
I think it would take a few of them to make any difference right?
I don't know if it is worth trying it, or whether she was simply trying to make a sale?
Any help??
It would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much

I'm tired of having to use those oily blotting sheets every 20 minutes, so I went a head and bought mac blot powder because I hear it's good at controlling your greasy face. Can I wear this over mineral makeup?

or is it only to be worn over liquid foundation?

How well has it worked for you? Did you break out from it?

I couldn't find this topic addressed here (although it likely has been). Now that my hair is growing out, I'm needing to keep it tamed (gels, pomades, etc). Are there any non-comedogenic hair product lines out there? I'm having a devil of a time finding any information online.
Thanks.

Okay. So I have had acne since i was 10. But it was always really mild until grade 9 started last year. I didn't wear makeup though so that wasn't the problem. But even in grade 9 I only had moderate acne. But what I realized last night is my acne turned to severe around when I started using powder on my face.
I started using really light foundation christmas last year and there was no change. But in the spring i needed powder for dance competitions, so i bought some and also started wearing it to school and such. That is around the time my acne turned terrible.
So is it very common with other people that powder gives them acne?
And how is a way do do good coverup, but without the benefits as powder for an even finish?
Thanks so much for any comments or advice! They would be much appreciated!

Any recommendations anyone? I'm not a super strict vegan but as all of Dan's products are vegan (which I really dig) anybody know of one until dan comes out with his own I can buy?
I'm a little afraid to use the AHA without a good sunblock to couple with it.
