I've been on a combination of Solodyn and Duac for six months. My skin responded really well but my doctor decided to "give me a break" from the pills and switch me to Differin. I've been drinking water like crazy and making sure to apply moisturizer. But i'm still sorting out my new regimen.
SO here it goes. Morning Cerave Cleanser Duac Cetaphil Daily Facial moisturizer Neutrogena's Sheer sunblock spf 30 Night Cerave cleanser Differin (wait 30min-hour) Cetaphil Daily Facial moisturizer D: I miss my jojoba oil! Anyone here using Jojoba oil and Differin? If so, how do you apply it? I've been on Differin for four days. So far...no peeling, no redness and no new pimples.

Hey hey hey!
So im a 19 year old girl, and i've been battling mild acne since I was 13. Just recently however, I started college, (I took a year off) and while everyone else's face is clearing up from their teenage acne, i'm getting worse! It's not too bad right now, but my family has a history of very severe acne, my dad and my uncle both have HORRIBLE acne. So my mother suggested that before it does get worse, that I go see a dermatologist. So I went to the dermatologist and he has me on both Duac and Solodyn, they have both helped tame my acne a little, but i'm still breaking out frequently. Plus, the idea of using antibiotics makes me a bit uneasy. I'm positive that its hormonal and the only way that I can think of regulating my wild hormones is by eating healthy and exercising frequently. I stopped exercising since I started college because life has gotten hectic and im still trying to sort out my schedule (i'll definitely make time for exercise now!) I'm also trying to eat better; I've always been very skinny so i've never worried about what I consume especially now that im in college its a little harder to watch what I eat and im constantly stressed and tired so I never make room for exercise, although I hear that exercise increases energy, helps release stress and increases blood circulation. I'm sure that this will work because over the years, the last few times that I remember having clear skin was when I was doing sports on a daily basis at school. Soooo we'll see how it goes! SO. Day 1: Morning: Rubbed Vitamin E oil on my scars (had to wash it off because a friend was coming over) Cleanser: SFC lotion(comes with the Duac prescription, has similar texture as Cetaphyl gentle cleasing lotion) Ate: Nature's path pumpkin flavor Flax cereal with omega-3's (added bananas) Vitamins: A, E Afternoon: Bare minerals make-up (I should probably not even wear this, it doesn't even begin to cover my purple scars. I ATE A JALAPENO PRETZEL POPPER IT WAS HORRIBLE. I needed a napkin to wipe off the grease. Ok, I ate two. I know, THIS IS HARD. I also had popcorn with raspberry tea, does popcorn have iodine in it? I hear too much iodine makes you break out. Also raspberry tea= high fructose corn syrup. GREAT. I didn't think about that until later. Evening: Lentil soup Pasta with shredded carrots and broccoli Peach flavored frozen yogurt A banana Vitamins: A (8,000 IU), E (200 IU) Solodyn So far I have mostly scars, one papule that's been frozen in the same state for 4 days now, won't dry out but it won't turn into a pustule, 7 small pustules, one burst this afternoon after I applied make-up. Ok. Gonna go wash the face and apply Duac and then get a good start on my English essay, then go to bed. |
