Hey Kiddies,
So today I went out and got the Cerave moisturizing lotion after reading some great reviews on here and on makeup alley. I decided to can my cetaphil moisturizer after having my skin become way more oily than it already is and developing some cysts.

I was just wondering what your experiences were with Cerave and if it made anyones pimples worse. That is the last thing that I need right now to be quite honest. I don't need any surprises tomorrow morning. Any input would be nice smile.gif

If I could put my 2 cents in here, I'm not a big fan of moisturizers, or Cetaphil products. I can tell you this much, I tried the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser based on input/reviews on here, and the Internet as well. Boy, what a HUGE mistake that was, thanks to CeraVe, three new medium-sized zits appeared within 2 days of cleansing with it next to my nose. I don't believe the CeraVe moisturizer is going to make any difference, except that it may create some new problems for you. CeraVe products are definitely not for people w/ oily, acne-prone skin. Luckily, I bought this crap when it was on sale, and still may even try returning it. AVOID at all costs!!!

I use CeraVe lotion everyday. I actually just put it on this morning. I havent had any problems with it yet and Ive been using it for about a year and a half. I also keep the cream on hand for when my skin is a little drier.

I like it and continue use because unlike every other moisturizer ive tried, which is A LOT, it doesnt leave me all greasy and gross looking. I still have a small amount of shine which i dont like, but thats with any moisturizer.

I would recommend it to anyone. Its cost efficient, and comes in a good sized pump bottle.

The other thing I just thought of is the Ceramides it contains. It has 3 different ceramides along with hyaluronic acid and cholesterol. These are essential for skin health, and thats not my opinion, theres plenty of medical studies proving that. If you have dry damaged skin, cerave will help repair it and keep it healthy.

Hope that helps smile.gif

I've had combination/oily acne prone skin for years. My derm recommended Cereve to use with Tazorac gel at night and Benzaclin during the day (I'm still convinced he had some sort of deal with their company cause he was pushing it HARD).

I'm sorry to say, but I hated this stuff! It felt smooth and non-greasy going on my skin and absorbed quickly, but it left my skin SUPER oily and greasy looking throughout the day, far more than any non-comedogenic moisturizer I've ever used. It was horrible! I wouldn't recommend this for anyone with combination or oily skin.

I do, however, LOVE Kiehls oil-free PCA moisturizer. It's so smooth and light and leaves my skin soft. It doesn't make me look shiny throughout the day either. I would highly recommend it!

Hi xLKphotox,

I had been using Cetaphil moisturizing lotion for 10 months (when I started using Tazorac) and have never got over the oily/wet look that it gives me after applying. Even though I only use it at night I couldn't help wonder if all that oily/wetness was the cause of whiteheads that would seem to surface in the morning.

So..... about a month ago I switched to CeraVe lotion and haven't looked back. It goes on even and absorbs much better than Cetaphil. It leaves my skin soft without the oily look. I LOVE IT!!!!
On occasions I use it even during the day.

BTW I just started using ACZone about 3 weeks ago and the CeraVe is still working better than ever.

Good luck and I hope your results are as good or better than mine!
