Just wondering, as I am using the Avene Cleanance K and am wondering whether I should try the LRP Effaclar K instead to see if I get better results.
I have found the Avene product great for evening out tone and texture but it's not really doing anything for acne.

ANy recommendations?
Thanks

I have just started to use Cleanance K treatment from Avene and have noticed they also make Diacneal which also seems to be good. Does anyone use them together and if so how? Do you get good results?

I have read on the sticky on this part of the forum that it is ok to use AHA/BHA and retinols together, but to be aware that starting them together can cause excessive irritation so its probably best to introduce one at a time. Therefore I'm definitely going to go slow with introducing both products. I was just wondering whether anyone has developed a good routine with both the products and got good results?

Thanks

I have been trying to take a few capsules a day of EPO to try and balance my hormones and act like an androgen blocker. In the past I have had success with the Dianette (birth control pill) with contains an anti-androgen hormone. So i figured I need to try and emulate that using supplements.

But now I have been reading that taking too many Omega-6 oils like EPO in relation to Omega-3 like Fish oil can lead to more acne. So my question is what sort of dosages should I take for both oils in order to see a differnce in my acne? Also how do i take into account that modern diets contain more Omega-6 than 3 when deciding on dosages?

Thanks

I am going to try and record my experience with Yasmin to help me notice things getting better.

I have recently had a lot of success with Dianette which i took for a year and got almost totally clear with. My doctor said it shouldn't be taken long term so I was switched to Cilest (Ortho-Cyclen in US?). But by the 3rd month on Cilest my skin had lost a lot of tone and condition and I was developing nodular and cystic acne again on my chin whistling.gif( It was horrible because in the first two months I didn't get any spots so I thought I was onto a winner with Cilest whistling.gif(

So I've been prescribed Yasmin again. I have taken this in the past with no horrible side effects but I did notice my libido was lower. However I now don't think that was Yasmin - it's just me!!!! And while I was taking it I was also using topical antibiotics so I wasn't able to judge whether the Yasmin worked properly for my skin. So I'm having another go!

Right now my skin is greasy and feels icky (which it hasn't felt like in a year) and I have a large new nodular spot on my chin which is very painful and an old one that has just stopped hurting. My skin is blotchy, becomes red easily after washing, has large pores around the nose and I have a few smaller pimples around my mouth, chin, and forehead which just don't seem to want to heal.

I'm going to start using Yasmin tomorrow.

I've recently started taking Cilest after being taken off Dianette. I took Cilest a few years back and it made me go a little bit emotional so I never got a chance to see if it helped my skin. But I've had to take something else after the Dianette and the Dr suggested Cilest. I thought I'd give it a go anyway! I've been on it for a month and bit and I haven't had any problems with being emotional or luckily with my skin.

Anyone had any good experiences with Cilest as I am really hoping these good results continue!!!
I think Cilest is Ortho-Cyclen (it isn't a tri-phasic pill, so not Tri-Cyclen) in the US.

Thanks!
