I'm going on Accutane soon and I need a good cleanser and moisturizer and I've read that Cetaphil is the best for Acccutane but I cannot seem to find anywhere good to buy it in the UK.

Cetaphil have a UK website but stupidly only let you order by printed form and cheque and only offer a cleanser. This is ridiculous as I'm sure they would have a potential huge market in the UK.

Does anyone know any reliable websites or eBay sellers who stock the Cetaphil range? Or is there a good alternative to Cetaphil for Accutane in the UK?

Thanks.

Hi Zuko,

I'm not sure if you managed to find any in the end, but I've been searching too with no luck. I made a few calls to pharmacies cos I was getting fed up of searching in vain on the internet! Not sure if this will help, but just in case:

The cleanser is available from a lot of pharmacies (Boots stock it), some pharmacies are able to order in the bar cleanser. No-one had or was able to order the lotion... some pharmacists didn't even know they did one... great!

Apparently Avene's 'extremely gentle cleanser' (from larger Boots stores) is quite similar. Having never tried the Cetaphil cleanser I can't verify this, but the ingredients certainly look similar. On their website Avene recommend people on accutane use this cleanser and their skin recovery cream. I am currently using Eucerin moisturiser but am trying out the Avene one for a couple of days to see if its better (I have extremely flaky skin... nice).

May be worth a try if you haven't found anything else yet, hope it helps!

p.s. there are some ebay sellers with the Cetaphil moisturiser but they don't provide tracking for shipping and it's a bit costly if it gets lost.

Roaccutane 60mg daily from 05-06-09.
Progress: (Day 33) I had no IB with 30mg, but when my dose was upped to 60mg I had an awful breakout. In fact I still am.
(Day 100) I'm getting there, long way to go, but working on it.
