I'm 17 & have already being suffering from bacne for 4+ years.
Initially, it was very much negligible, but I wanted to clear that ; I tried dermatologist prescribed cream & pills, which made my acne very very severe (entire back, chest, both arms/shoulders).
As soon I realized the adverse effects, I immediately discontinued the treatment, I dunno what happened from then on...nothing could ever control the sudden bacne attack & here I'm after 4+ years fighting with my moderate-severe bacne...although after going through several medications (prescribed & over-the-counter) my bacne has reduced...but not enough to claim it as a mild case.
I recently had bought Proactiv, which am using for my face as of now.
I have severe bacne scarring on my entire back, chest, both arms/shoulders although the breakouts are of moderate type(all kinds i.e whiteheads, blackheads, cysts, lesions, postules, etc)
Please suggest me some ways in how can I get rid of my 'post-acne' scars through home or prescribed/surgical remedies.
Thanks a lot in advance.

I have had these red bumps all over my upper arms for a few years and it seems to have been getting worse the last year. They get inflamed and look like white heads. I purchased a kit from
DERMAdoctor - Keratosis Pilaris Regimen Duo. -
I used it for about a 4-5 days in a row and it showed minor results but nothing really big. Anyone have any tips or anything? I was reading about AHA and didnt know what was the best treatement for Keratosis Pilaris. Its getting extremely annoying....
I have never been to a dermatologist before, I still get minor acne on face, on back on chest sometimes too. I wonder if its worth going?

Hi, i've been a victim of acne for about 4 years now! First i only had acne on my face, but for the last 2 years ive had acne on both chest and back! On later days it has gotten worse. I have white marks all over my upper back and most of the pores around my chest and shoulders are clogged in some way. Im curious about if any of you have anything similar to this (check pictures). i've also though that it could be some kind of Folliculitis, but im not sure. Do you know any treatments that would get this type of acne under control? I often feel that the skin around my problem areas are quite oily.
thanks!

Ok hi.
I'm 16 years old... and well... I have bad back acne! It's really bad.
When I put a backpack on for school, by the end of the day, it's just a nightmare on my back.
Anyways, you get the point.. it's bad.. and I need to get rid of it, as quickly as I can.
So I hear Head and Shoulders 'Classic Clean' works well. But you see I have a question about the whole process.. Everything I've seen about it, no one really says how exactly they did it, so I'm confused.
Do you :
Put it on, go to bed, wake up and wash it off?
or..
Put it on, leave it for a few minutes and wash it off?
OR..
Take a shower, lather it on affected area's on your back/shoulder, leave it a couple minutes, then wash it off and get out of the shower?
Please someone that knows, give me the correct answer, I'm probably going to go buy a bottle of it tomorrow.
Thanks

i just think its super unattractive, especially when i wear low back tops

any advice would be great, thank you!

something odd going on here. about 5 months back i would have acne all over my back. well i cleared that up, then semi cleared my face, and now i seem to be getting chest acne! wtf?
some are little comodomes and some are just red marks that are not even a spot :S
i did go out last night and get fairly drunk, maybe its my body purging all the toxins out of it?
what gives? or is it due to the fact i shaved my chest about a month or so ago?
kinda worried tbh

Ok, so I've been battling back acne for quite a few years now. I've tried many of the remedies suggested on this site with little success. Many of the things I've tried work well for the first little while then gradually stop working effectively. So far I've tried: head and shoulders, gold bond, sea salt, apple cider vinegar, salicylic acid, BP (2.5, 5, and 10%), aha, tea tree oil, moisturizers, cleansers, zinc supplements, niacin supplements, fish oil, multi vitamins, and antibiotics. I would classify my condition as moderate at this point. I don't know what to try next, I'm 23 and I still can't see myself just "growing out" of it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I got a cyst/pimple/tumor growing from my chest bone. I don't pick it or anything but it hurts like crazy. Pics don't do this justice. The rest of my body is clear. I don't know if it is ingrown hair or what. I tried applying BP a couple of times. It started last week and has multiplied. I know there is something oozing inside.
When should I go to the doctor?
Description:
1. Very painful
2. Red/Pink in color
3. Shiny surface of skin and protruding out
4. About 1" in diameter
5. Exactly in middle of chest on top of chest bone
HELP!

I'm tired of trying to keep the Pityrosporum Folliculitis in check by trying new topical antifungals all the time. Most of the topicals seem to work for a short period of time before the Folliculitis comes back.
So I went to a dermatologist and got prescribed Sporanox(itraconazole) for eight days. Offcourse the derm knew next to nothing about folliculitis and began a speech stating her excellent results with acne patients. If she had know just a little about folliculitis I would have probably trusted what she said about most of my problem being acne. However, she seemed to just want to get rid of me and prescribed Sporanox in a hurry to get me out. Atleast I got what I wanted, an oral antifungal.
Atleast, if this doesn't work I will be sure it's not Pityrosporum Folliculitis i got. From what I have read oral antifungals nearly always seem to have an effect on people with Pityrosporum Folliculitis.
I'm going to follow the regimen used in
this study.
However, I'm going to take 100 mg in the morning and 100 mg at night. Also I will occasionally use Nizoral shampoo, selsun shampoo or ZNP. I take fish oil and Apple Cider Vinegar aswell.
Wish me luck:)

Hi everyone my name is charles and i am 19 years old. since I was about 12, i started having acne appear on my butt. Over the past 7 years the acne has only gotten worse. it ranges from blackheads to big painful cysts. i have tried every acne medication possible nothing works. it is extremely embarrasing and it really impacts my sexual life. I have gone to the doctor and been prescribed antibiotics and they worked but they made me sick, and as soon as i stop taking it, the acne comes right back. I dont want a temporary solution i want it to go away for good. Im not a hairy person and have no hair on my butt, but I feel that it might be ingrown hair causing the acne. over the past few years I have noticed that i have been getting a lot more blackheads caused by ingrown hair on my legs. I just dont know what to do anymore. If anyone has any help or advice I could desperately use it. Thank you so much.

So acne has been on my face for years and its a bitch.
However, the last couple of months i have had 2 spots come up on my rear end. It ain't that embarassing cos i dont like flash my ass in public lol, but like sitting down has got a little painful and someone said i was acting restless i couldnt say that i was trying to squirm into a postition to protect my ass acne lol. Worst bit was wiping my ass after i had a dump, one csyt thing was close to the wiping zone, made for an umcompfy shit lol
So i think i can get this under control with better diet and drying my ass better, just wanted to know if i am alone in having acne on the tooshy.

[attachment=23754:Image0006.jpg]Hi
I have attached a photo of my acne which is primarily on my chest but also my back. I am a 32 year old male and wondered from your experience if my doctor should refer me to a dermatologist. He has not suggested it yet but last time just prescribed my without even looking at my acne.
I am seeing someone else next week and do you think this is severe enough to request a referral??
They are often big cysts which are painful to touch and even when my shirt touches them. It is also seriously affecting my confidence as I like to swim and go gym and haven't been able to as I am too embarassed.
Thanks for your comments/advice.

Ok so occassionally I get these weird pimples, but they are kinda not like pimples. i tried to squeeze them but i find that i have to use a tweezer and pull them out like a hair. They also occur in places where I dont usually get any blemishes. when i pull them out they are rock hard and there is no hair in them. Also I just found one I thought was a hair but it was skinny with a ball on the end and kinda reminded me of a seed (looked like this: -o )
Does anyone know what is this and explain it to me please?
Thanks

Hey,
I know tanning helps against acne, but I heard it accelerates fungus growth — is this true?

I have pretty thick and moist and good skin on face. However, my arms have this thin, brittle, easily inflamed skin. I do not have much acne, but the slightest pinch of skin makes it red for weeks and skin just seems so darn thin and brittle!
What can I do to imrpove that? I already stopped using fabric softeners and I do not use any backpacks or wear anything heavy. What can I do to get rid of that brittleness? Moisturizers do not seem to do much to improve it...

So, I have had acne before when I was 14. I was put on accutane, and never have had it since...Now. I am 22. I have been getting acne on my back, chest, shoulders, and face now since August. I have tried birth control, I am on minocycline, acanya gel for my face, and benzoyl peroxide for my body. The minocycline worked for about 6 weeks. I am now 8 weeks in and my chest is breaking out again! I have told the derm that Accutane was the only thing that has worked for me in the past. I have been down the antibiotic road, the topicals, etc... They didnt want to give it to me, bc its not in their words "scarring acne." I wished they would have listened to me in the first place. Not only are the antibiotics not working sufficiently anymore, I am now getting yeast infections. What should I do or say thats going to make a difference today? I am tired of battling this AGAIN! Its seriously taken a toll on my self esteem.

Hi All
I've tried the regimen acne. org 16oz cleanser with pretty good results but postage and Royal Mail handling charges for delivery to the UK mean it's quite expensive.
Nearly all of the recommended body washes on here are only available for purchase in the USA.
Can anyone recommend a good body wash that can be bought in the UK?
I'm 30 y/o and get like half a dozen really big red spots on my back which usually don't come to a head. They take ages to go even with me using the regimen for light bacne.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi guys,
After numerous failed attempts of acne creams for my back, i have finally got an antibiotic prescribed to me which is supposed to help: Doxycycline (50mg)
I also got Duac (1% Clindamycin & 5% Benzoyl Peroxide), which is a Gel.
With the combination of these 2 products, I hope to get rid of this nasty pest.
I am supposed to take 2 doses a day of Doxycycline which is a pill, along with applying duac after a shower(recommend to use it before sleep).
My bacne is moderate. No cysts but pimples are covering all of my back.
I will keep you guys updated with my bacne, and hopefully if it works. i hope this inspires more people to get this combination of products, if all else fails.
=====Day 1=====
No improvement ( way too early to tell )

Hey guys I used BP on my back for about two weeks and I've really dried it out :/. I didn't know I was capable of doing that since the skin on my back is really resistant to acne products. It's been dry and flaky for about 5 days and I haven't applied more BP in that time either. The thing is, my back has gotten really clear and my marks are fading. Any thoughts on what I should do? I mean I can't continue applying BP since the area is so so dry, but it's working?

Okay, I am wondering guys, since I only take a shower once a day (night) can I still do H&S and can you guys tell me how to apply it? Since I only would do it in the night, what should I do during the day , right now I put on AHA+? Im only concerned about the acne/red marks between my pecs.

I've been on the regimem for severe chest body acne for about 7 weeks. The redness is fading and the itching is getting a lot better. Only today I have had a new spot appear ( I believe this is espected).
Anyway I have noticed that my chest hair is getting dyed and going an almost orange colour (I am a natural dark haired man)
Does anyone know anyway of stopping my hair getting dyed?
I am using BP and AHA twice a day after showering.
