I started to use BP (5%) on my back and chest about 1 ½ weeks ago, and it got better every day. Two days ago my back was almost clear, but now I have another outbreak because I got my period. It’s almost as bad as before, and I’m really depressed. I just read the “vinegar & lemon thread, and today I decided to try that too… In the morning I washed my back and chest with diluted apple vinegar (1:3 or something like that), and then applied the BP 5%. My skin got really red on my back because it was already dried out by the BP. By now (2 hours later) the redness is gone, the skin is not irritated anymore but still very, very dry (lots of little wrinkles). I’ll see what happens to the spots and red scars, I really hope that it helps…

I have some acne on my back. Occasionally I get a few larger pimples on my back/shoulder area. I have a lot of little bumps (flesh colored) and a lot of clogged pores. There's some scarring too (brown spots but i dont mind them).
Anyways I am hoping this stuff will eventually give me smoother/clearer skin. I use a sponge with some kind of net thing over it (i think its supposed to exfoliate or something- sorry i dont know the correct name). Perhaps this weekend I will buy a loofa on a stick to reach those hard to reach places.
I let it sit a few minutes on my back and let it sort of soak in a little then i rinse.
I get a little embarrassed when my boyfriend gives me massages because my skin isnt smooth, and his feels so much nicer than mine. LOL Dont get me wrong, he gets a few pimples too but mine are more like little bumps and such.
I will let you know how i like this stuff in a week or so.
To anyone who has used it, let me know what you think.

I've struggled with acne on my chest for about 4-5 years now. I've been fortunate never to have had huge pimples on my chest, I just get the smaller red ones, which never come to a head and often last for months. About 5 months ago, I started to notice spots on my back, larger than the ones on my chest and alot more painful.
I do the regimen on my body, using pretty much the same things as my face, but the flakeyness of skin on my chest is terrible, even if i let water run on it from the shower, it flakes up, obviously because of BP that has been put on before hand. I've recently started re-reading how to do the regimen (I've been on it about 2 years) and notice that My main problem is rushing it, it's really like a chore to do as I have so many areas to treat so I just tend to rush to get it over with, but obviously this wont help at all.
Any other UK sufferers out there could tell me about a good clenser that works for body and face and wont leave a mark on my wallet too badly... it would be greatly appreicated.
I just re-read all that stuff I typed and it really doenst flow at all... I suppose I'm just ranting

I`m 22 and have had acne for 4 years .
It started on my face and after 2 years I started getting it on my shoulders and back and every single outbrake left scars on My back...they are not red but brown and they show ...My back looks like hell

...I can`t wear anything that lets my back show

.
But the reason I`m asking what`s the deal with back scars is that I started getting outbrakes on my face two years before the first on my back ...and I got to tell you ...some were so bad especially the ones on my chin or close to my nose (Id get the nasty BIG ones under the skin that were hard to touch , warm and they HURT) were so painful at times I could hardly talk ...not to mention one on my chin that was so infected(i did not pick at it) that it broke out on the other side meaning in my mouth!!!!
That was NASTY but thank God its all gone

and hope it will stay that way.
I`m on hormone pills ...they did the trick for me and I now have mild acne and some outbrakes before my periods but that`s it.
The weird but at the same time the most wonderful thing is that NONE ! of the outbrakes I had during these years left a scar on my face...I mean ..its amazing!
Not a single scar on my face and yet my back looks all spotted .
Anyone know why that is?!!!!
I`m guessing its because the back is more fatty than the face and I know the healing got all to do with the way the blood reaches the spot so could it be that ?
And how do I make them go away ?
I tryed scrubbing but that does not do much ...the pigmentation is deep
Any ideas?

hey, just letting you know what works for my back and chestne, which would be probably be classes as moderate. On my back Dans bp twice a day does the trick, if it werent for his gel i could never afford to bp such a big area, works brilliantly, really easy to rub in and you can use as much as you like beacuse its so economical. On the chest the bp didnt seem to cut it, so i got panoxyl 5% gel bp, this works great, apply it once a day. What id say to anyone with acne on their body is try dans bp twice a day, give it a while to take effect, if there is little or no improvement use a stronger bp like a 5 or 10%, try using it once a day and if this still doesnt cut it then twice a day. Salicylic acid washes on anything other than the mildest body acne are a waste of time in my opinion, and id avoid going on antibiotics, accutane until you have actually tried the bp option and given it time. The other thing is it is very easy to break the salicylic acid routine, whether you have to shower once or twice a day, sometimes you just dont need to or arent bothered, youd prefer to hop into bed immediately at night or youd prefer the extra 15 mins in bed in the morning, and id say if there was any chance of sa working youd have to be persistant and determined with it 100% which would take alot of effort, good luck...

I just figured on sharing this. I had minor arm acne, and the occasional on my chest, but kinda bad on my shoulders and top of my back. In the shower, twice a day if I'm not too lazy haha, I lather up Neutrogena Body Clear Body Scrub with salicylic acid, and massage it into the affected areas. Then I rinse it off and lather up a shower puff thing with PanOxyl acne bar with 5% BP. Massage that in, and rinse off. My arm acne is gone and it has helped a lot with the rest, fading the red marks and no new acne. Plus my skin is pretty soft. Anyways this could be something for someone to try. Sorry my post was so long

Is it possible for for acne to return even after taking accutane????
Ive been done with accutane for awhile now, but now it seems like its all coming back again. I have 2 mild bumps on my face already that i didnt even notice, and It wasnt their two days ago. Im scared to death that maybe my acne is all gonna come back to me.
Isnt their anything that i can do to make these bumps disappear??? No ointments or anything like that, just something quick and easy. I heard their was sum kinda needle trick or sumthing for dealing with mild bumps.

I have tried everything to get rid of acne on my chest and back!! I was using Neutrogena body clear body wash for like a year, and never got 100% clear, so Finnaly, a few months ago, I just gave up and said screw it, and took a break from topicals. Now, all I do is use this "normal" non-acne fighting ingredient body wash called Tea tree oil moisturizing body wash from Spa Logix, you can get it at Rite Aid.
It has worked great for my upper arm acne and chest, which used to get so irritated by acne products. My chest and arms are like 100% clear now, which is amazing!!!!! I still get a few mild pimples on my back, which makes sense because there are more oil glands back there, so I spot treat them with Clean and Clear's Persa gel-10, and they go away practically over night. I think this just proves that the less you do, the better, at least in some cases. Hope this helps someone.

I have never known anyone with my particular problem. My acne isn't red or inflamed, it just is little, hard bumps filled with sebum (yes, I do pick at it sometimes) all over! Arms, legs, butt, stomach, chest, neck, face, everywhere except my inner thighs, inner arms, hands, feet, and scalp. A topical solution is not the answer unless I use dip.
Clearly this is a genetic thing because my father had it and my daughter (11) is getting it. Anyone else got this? What do you do?

Hey guys,
I have a few break outs on my neck, I've used the regimen on my neck but I find it gets so red and flakey that it looks worse ! Any suggestions on either what I should use there, or how much bp to use? I did a search but nothing specfic came up on the neck area... I'm thinking I'll use bp there but just put a lot of moisturizer on top of it.
thanks

Hi, well i've got a problem, ive had bacne for quite a long time now but it isn't too bad and it seems to be going away, now ive only got it on one side of my back and it isnt too bad i just get the occasional whitehead and i still have a few little marks which should disapear soon, but now i've got another problem. I shaved my chest and below my belly button last week sometime (can't remember the exact date) and i had a shower every day as usual, then on saturday or sunday, i cant remember exactly i didnt have a shower for about 3 days i think (yes i know thats discusting and bad but i didnt have the time :/) and then a few days later i noticed i had acne appearing on my chest, i've never had this before i might have had the odd tiny spot or two but never like this, it appeared about 3 or 4 days ago and i've had a shower everyday since then but it doesn't seem to be going away, i wondered whether it has anything to do with when i shaved my chest? or is just because of not having a shower for 3 days, because i've done that before and never had this appear before, but i don't think i've ever shaved my chest before, i shaved below my belly button before i don't think i've ever shaved my chest so i'm really confused and i want to know what the cause of this acne is >.< . It's really pissing me off because ive got acne on my face (on my cheeks) and i've been using clearasil for ages now but it doesnt seem to help atall, my acne doesnt get worse, but it doesn't get better either -.- so i thought fuck the face at least my bodies alright and now this... if theres any advice u can give me that would help my situation then please post here because im really upset about this, i never used to mind going to the swimming pool occasionally and taking off my top when it was a hot day but now i feel too embarressed to do this so i need some urgent help

I know there's a BP regimen for bacne, but I care about my clothes a lot and I don't want the BP to bleach them, so I had a few questions about using Tazorac on my back and shoulders:
- Will it bleach or stain clothing?
- Has anyone used Tazorac on their back or any other part of their body besides the face?
- If you have, tell me what kind of results you got?
Thanks, everyone. Tazorac sounds like a pretty intense treatment, and the skin on my face is so sensitive that I don't even want to try it there. But my doctor gave me free samples and I don't want them to go to waste, so I was thinking I'd use them in other places.
