I steam with salt "rocks" from the sea. Everytime I steam my face it looks clearer and more even, maybe it's just all in my head. How many times can I safely steam a week ? I was going to start a regimen of steaming everyday at night for 10.

I have many large pores on my nose. They are clogged with little pricks that, when I squeeze my nose, multiple pricks come out. I don't know what these are called but they are very bothersome. When I squeeze my nose to get these pricks out, sometimes the pores are red because I squeezed too hard but still left pricks in the pores. If I do clear up these pores using the squeezing method or pore strips, then these pricks refill my pores after a couple of days. Right now, I am using a daily facial cleanser ("Purpose") and I am halfway through the bottle with no considerable results. Is there any product(s) that can help me?

does anyone else have redness where they have blackheads?

because most of my redness is on my cheeks and nose where my pores are large and filled with blackheads. so i was wondering if they are related or not?

Ever since I was young and I started to get my first blackheads my mom always told me to pop those blackheads (God! I wish I knew better) and continued the practice alsmot daily untill I was about 18. Well now I have dialated pores and was wondering is there anything to remedy this?

Ethier it be a topical or mabey even plastic surgery?

I know I posted a topic regarding the issue, but I'm going to be alittle more thorough in this post. I have had blackheads for awhile now and from constant popping I have believed to scar my nose. While I do have some scaring, I also have blackheads mixed in so its hard to tell what the damage is from popping

Just want some answers:

1. Are there any topicals out there to remove blackheads, I use to take one that the dermatologist said it would take around 6 months for it to close up the pores?

2. I have scaring on my nose from popping blackheads for several years, is there anything that might remedy or minimize the scaring? Even alittle bit


I'm pretty down right now and I really need answers so I can atleast start to cope with the worse if that is the case.

i have some small but numerous blackheads in the corner of my nose on either side. whats my best option for getting rid of them?

I'm actually posting for my brother here. He had this big black pimple, which I assumed to be a blackhead, on his chest early this week. When he came out of the shower last night, he popped it. He showed me what came out, and it looked like 3 little black stones. :S Is this normal? Is this a blackhead? If not, what the heck do you think it is?

Okay I have little black dots all over my nose and my cheeks under my eyes. Are those black heads or just large pores. Sometimes I'll get pimples there like bumps filled with puss but otherwise i'll always have the black dots. And like if i squeeze em lil white thick stuff comes out. I'm not sure if I have blackheads on my nose. I've seen some people with black dots on their nose, but mine are more brownish and are deeper in the skin. Squeezing them out is possible (easier after steaming my face), but takes a lot of effort.

By the way, maybe I should mention that I'm 24 and that apart from this problem my skin everywhere else is good (using a milder version of the skin care regimen - use less BP and less often). My routine is cleanse morning and night, then use 1% salicylic acid, and moisturize. At night I cleanse, use 1% salicylic acid, then use 2.5% benzoyl peroxide + moisturize. All products are from Paula's Choice.

Following this regimen has improved my skin big time. Despite this, if I gently squeeze the pores on my nose, the gunk that emerges is unreal. The same if I use those pore strips. I know I probably shouldn't do this but when I inspect my skin near the mirror I just can't help myself; the pores look huge and almost everyone is blocked. Well, my first question is: are these blackheads, or partially blocked pores? (though it doesn't really matter to me what they are, as long as they go away...)

And now for my second question: how do I remedy this problem? Paula's Choice (www.cosmeticscop.com) says that only salicylic acid will clear blackheads, but I've been using it for a long time (also switched to 2%, but that didn't change anything) and they're still there. Benzoyl peroxide also does nothing for my blocked pores/blackheads on my nose. I'm ready to try "Jessfoliation", though I'm a bit scared of actually brushing my nose with a tootbrush. Am I supposed to turn on the electric tootbrush, or should I manually scrub my nose with it?

The black head is on the side of my nose, tucked in nicely between my face and nose. (When I run my finger down the side of my nose I can feel the bump.) How do I get it out? I cannot squeeze her out, it is still to small. Can I "lance" it? It'll never really be ready to pop, it is just too hard to pop anything in that region. What do I do?

I have a tiny black dot on my face. It's been there for a year or two. I don't know if it is a blackhead or a small mole. How can I tell? Can I have it removed without a scar?

my daughter has been diagnosed with mild acne, the dermatologist said she has blocked hair follicles , just gave some cream and said it should clear up, it has been several months and no improvement, has any one else had this problem and what did they use for it

I've been thinking of going to the beauticians to remove a few tiny spots and alot of blackheads,which have all appeared while trying to get off my contraceptive pill. Anyway I'm now back on the pill, so my skin should become less oily in the next few weeks.

I'm worried going to the beauticians will make my skin worse. I've heard for sum people it has. Caused an even worse breakout.

What are your experiences?

Hi. I'm new...but need some help. I don't have acne...but for the last few months I have experienced a large bump on my stomach. I squeezed it and puss and blood came out making me think it was a blackhead. But it is huge and I feel it underneath my skin about an inch in diameter. My question is...has anyone ever experienced something like this? And if so...how did you get rid of it?

Also, any suggestions on bumpy freckled skin on chest and neck? I believe this is from sun damage...will lemos work? Or cucumbers

how long does it take for them to shrink? i just got two really big/wide ones. =/ i've had these holes from squeezing blackheads out before, but they were never this big! it's been 2 days already and they still have not shrunk back. what should i do? thanks.

Anyone have blackheads in the corners of your mouth and under your bottom lip?

These drive me nuts, because every once and a while, 1 or 2 will suddenly turn red, hurt for a few days, then turn into a white head.

when i squeez a black head that is in my skin... a long and sometimes thick stubborn piece of white stuff comes out as if its like a small bead that was inside your skin.. then a large pore shows but that pore doesnt go away its like as if the pore is scarred..... do these go away???? n if they are new .. what should i do?

Hello everyone, long time lurker, first time poster

I'm looking for a salicylic acid product for the blackheads on my nose.

I would like it to be around 1.5% to 2% and, more importantly, have very little other gubbins in to! No perfume, colourings etc.. as few ingredients as possible, if possible! No parabens as well would be great! It's got to be from the UK, preferably if I can just walk into Boots or Superdrug and buy it. I'm also not sure if I want a gel, cream or lotion..

I'm just finished my fourth month, and I still have clogged pores all over the place, especially on my nose. So altogether I first did 5 weeks at 0.01, then five weeks at 0.025, then three months at 0.05, then now 4 months on 0.1. I am really starting to realize how persistent my acne is... it looks like I will have blackheads for life.

Is it true that if you exercise it's less likely for you to get blackheads?
