Hey guys!
My derm just put me on Duac as an alternative to using TONS of BP, which was working great, but was just so much time and dry skin. Hopefully this clears up my last few pimples... fingers crossed! She told me I could continue using AHA if I wanted, but I will have to use it in the morning. I've been using it at night, and I was wondering if there is anyone who has tried applying in the morning. I wear makeup and am wondering how it will react with that. Thanks!

Hey guys,
So I've been decreasing the amount of BP by about 1/2 pump for about 3 weeks now. I had been doing about 1/2 pump in the morning and one at night for a week and I just broke out into 4 zits. I haven't done that for a couple of months now. However, I had four very very stressful midterms the past week, and I started my period (sorry boys). Do you think I could chalk this up to alot more stress than normal and that time of the month (both of which have been known to have a large impact on my acne in the past) and continue decreasing? I just LOVE the extra time and my face feeling like it can breath. ALso, does anyone know if there is an adjust period to decreasing BP? The strange thing is, 3 out of 4 of the zits I got were in very strange places that I never got them in before. It just doesnt make sense. Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, this is month 3 of being on the regimen, and I have been having alot of problems with picking lately. All day long I feel my face and want to pick. The reason is this-- while I have very little active acne, I get these teeny tiny dried sebum balls lodged into my pores that if I dig my fingernail in them will usually come out. I'm assuming these are dried blackheads? Anyone else get these or have an idea?
I know picking is horrible, but I need some chastisement or something because I can't stop by myself. And, what works in getting over this (except for getting rid of the acne, of course. That part is coming along nicely.)? Thanks!

I have been on the regimen for about 3 months. For the past month or so I was 100% clear, but dry dry dry. Nothing eased it. I tried JO, different cleansers, different moisturizers, AHA. Nothing helped. use CeraVe moisturzer now beacuse that one definitely was best for me and I use AHA every night. I moved down to 1 pump BP 2x a day last Monday, and my skin was flake free for a few days, but now they are back with a vengeance. I feel like its even worse than before, except for at the very beginning of the regimen. And strangely at night, when I've put on the AHA for the past couple days. my face burns for 15-20 minutes. Not just stings like it should, but BURNS.
Maybe I should loosen up on the AHA? But I am afraid of even more flakes. Could the AHA be the agent of my flakes though? Also, I was almost clear except for maybe two or three zits a week with proactive, and I was only using what would be the equivalent of 1/2 a pump of BP a day. I was going to try and remain at 1 pump 2x a day for a month or so, but i don't think I can handle the discomfort of my dryness. Should I lower the dosage sooner, or would my skin freak if I didn't give it time to adjust? Any suggestions would help, and by the way, Im pretty sure my skin hates JO. So thats really not an option. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
This is my nightly regimen: Take off makeup with JO Wash with Dan's cleanser 2 pumps BP Dime size of AHA Olay moisturizer with 6 drops JO Now, this whole process takes so long I find it unsustainable and my face is kind of irritated at the end of it. I want to cut out the first and last step, but when I use only AHA on my face at night it is very very dry. Has anyone tried mixing the JO with the AHA? |
