I am sending some jojoba out to the mods and a few other people to get initial feedback on it. I'll also be doing this in the future. If you would like to volunteer to test future products, I've started a waiting list. Please email brandy@acne.org with your full name, permanent mailing address (no dorms or temporary housing addresses please), email address, and username on Acne.org. I'll need serious people who are willing to possibly fill out surveys and such. If your name comes up, we'll be in touch with further details. I have asked for similar volunteers in the past and have plenty of people currently, but I wanted to be sure to give everyone a chance to at least get on a waiting list. I can't promise what will happen with this in the future and how far down the list I will get, but I wanted to put it out there regardless.

We're sorry but we are no longer able to delete accounts upon request. We have thousands of members and are continually growing, so this is no longer something the Admins. are able to do.
If you feel you no longer want to be a part of our community, we ask that you just stop using your account. If you want some of your posts removed, feel free to search through your posts and replies and edit them as you see fit, remove photos, etc. You may also change your username in your controls to something non-identifying with you, if you'd like, before you go.
I would also like to encourage everyone to be mindful of the information you put online. It's not always a good idea to post personal information on public internet forums.
Thanks for your cooperation.

If you want or need an acne prescription, see a doctor and get it legally. If you get prescriptions illegally online you could easily hurt yourself or waste your money.
- Independent studies have been performed on the sale of Internet-bought prescriptions. Often the prescription contains no active ingredient, little active ingredient, or in a worst case scenario toxic amounts of active ingredient.
- Drugs bought without a prescription can actually be a completely different compound from what the buyer intends.
Acne.org prohibits the illegal trade of any form of drug or prescription drug. If you see a post from someone selling a prescription, please report it immediately. Thanks.

Due to recent spamming and trolling of The Lounge forum, the moderating team has decided on new requirements for Veteran Members (effective Mar. 30, 2007).
You must satisfy BOTH of these to become a Veteran Member and have access to The Lounge:
- 30 days membership
- 60 posts
Thank you,
Acne.org Moderating Team
Edited to add: You will not become a Veteran Member immediately upon satisfying these criteria, but within 24 hours. This is because the board software does member promotion automatically once a day. Please wait at least 24 hours after satisfying the 60 post + 30 day membership requirements before asking why you aren't a Veteran Member yet.
- cool as kim deal
edited 9-13-08 to add new lounge access requirements. -Brandy

Alright, so I know I'm not a veteran posters on this forum. But I know that many of us users to suffer from Seborrheic Dermatitis on this forum. If you view the
Rosacea & facial redness forum you will see a recent influx of Seb Derm threads.
I know that the forum will be brought to good use and help us suffers find something to help treat this skin problem.
Thanks, Dimensions.

I notice there is no off-topic section here. I think it would be a good idea to have one. I know we are all here because acne is or has been part of our lives. But there is more to life than acne! Just a suggestion. Great forum anyway!

I just wanted to say that I think that this is a great site! Very informative and helpful. However, I have I few things that I think need to be added in order to make this site even better. First of all, the type of skin that a person has wasn't really addressed in your tests or regimen. I have really bad oily skin especially on my t-zone. Many acne plans fail for me because they fail to address the sebum build that comes with oily skin. Especially when it comes to moisturizing. Many of the regiments out there don't have a light moisturizer so it just continues to clog my pores. The second thing is your regimen talks about benzoyl peroxide, however I know that every person reacts differently to these chemicals. For me I have never seen any positive results from benzoyl peroxide. On top of not working it is also too harsh on my skin. I have to use salicylic acid or glycolic acid. I guess what I'd really like to see is a few variations of your regiment so it is more versatile.

I'm having trouble wondering what happened to my past 4 posts. Did a moderator make the thread invisible, or remove them?

I am fairly new to this site, I have been reading it intensely for the past week and just joined up today and I am already a big fan. I have found a lot of useful remedies and have found so much information it is astounding. It is also, overwhelming, and I think it could help if we formed a database similar to Dan's product reviews but with more detailed information about the products and active ingredients. For instance, it took me pages to find out what AHAs are what BHAs are and which one is better, and honestly I am still uncertain.
I am envisioning one place where all the different types of cleansers, toners, moisturizers and supplements are explained accurately. There are so many people saying what good results they have from things, and it's often hard to tell what things are actually supposed to DO to your skin. If we could compile all the resources available here, it would be a lot smoother for all of us and people wouldn't have to keep posting threads about the same stuff all of the time.
Additionally, I think we could all test the pH levels of products and put those on there as well, because this seems to be an overlooked aspect of skincare discussion that can really alert us to a lot of harmful products and allow us to eliminate them from our regimens quickly. I have started to become concerned with pH levels in the products I use and only in a few places can I find information about what products have good pH levels and these I never see anywhere but on the internet. I would like to people to go down to the pharmacy and know which products are abrasive and which aren't. Maybe if we all got some pH strips and tested the stuff we use, we could become better informed for ourselves and then post that information in one place and share that benefit with others.
I think all of the information is here, we just need to assemble it into some order so that someone doesn't have to spend weeks reading through 80 and 90 page threads for what can be simple answers. The threads are helpful and do allow for good discussion and clarification, but I think there can be a more efficient way for people to have the answers in front of them since I know we all spend enough time already worrying about our faces and researching products, it would be nice to have a place where we can find simple answers that are answered simply.
This database or listing would only be a jumping off point for people who are looking to try new things or who have heard about a product and want to find some answers about it before they start running to the pharmacy where they stand in the aisle for half an hour trying to make a decision. Because when our skin is bad, we don't want to wait and we don't have to; there should be no reason why the answers to our questions should be hard to find when we have such a community of knowledgeable people already built and learning from each other daily.
Once people go to this database, there should be links to the epic length forum discussions and product reviews for people to get more detailed personal feedback once they start narrowing down what they want and need.
This is just an idea I had, and I'd like to see it happen if anyone else would.
Love the site and hopefully it will continue to change my life.
