I am sending some jojoba out to the mods and a few other people to get initial feedback on it. I'll also be doing this in the future. If you would like to volunteer to test future products, I've started a waiting list. Please email brandy@acne.org with your full name, permanent mailing address (no dorms or temporary housing addresses please), email address, and username on Acne.org. I'll need serious people who are willing to possibly fill out surveys and such. If your name comes up, we'll be in touch with further details. I have asked for similar volunteers in the past and have plenty of people currently, but I wanted to be sure to give everyone a chance to at least get on a waiting list. I can't promise what will happen with this in the future and how far down the list I will get, but I wanted to put it out there regardless.

We're sorry but we are no longer able to delete accounts upon request. We have thousands of members and are continually growing, so this is no longer something the Admins. are able to do.
If you feel you no longer want to be a part of our community, we ask that you just stop using your account. If you want some of your posts removed, feel free to search through your posts and replies and edit them as you see fit.
I would also like to encourage everyone to be mindful of the information you put online. It's not always a good idea to post personal information on public internet forums.
Thanks for your cooperation.

If you want or need an acne prescription, see a doctor and get it legally. If you get prescriptions illegally online you could easily hurt yourself or waste your money.
- Independent studies have been performed on the sale of Internet-bought prescriptions. Often the prescription contains no active ingredient, little active ingredient, or in a worst case scenario toxic amounts of active ingredient.
- Drugs bought without a prescription can actually be a completely different compound from what the buyer intends.
Acne.org prohibits the illegal trade of any form of drug or prescription drug. If you see a post from someone selling a prescription, please report it immediately. Thanks.

Due to recent spamming and trolling of The Lounge forum, the moderating team has decided on new requirements for Veteran Members (effective Mar. 30, 2007).
You must satisfy BOTH of these to become a Veteran Member and have access to The Lounge:
- 30 days membership
- 60 posts
Thank you,
Acne.org Moderating Team
Edited to add: You will not become a Veteran Member immediately upon satisfying these criteria, but within 24 hours. This is because the board software does member promotion automatically once a day. Please wait at least 24 hours after satisfying the 60 post + 30 day membership requirements before asking why you aren't a Veteran Member yet.
- cool as kim deal
edited 9-13-08 to add new lounge access requirements. -Brandy

I'm sure this has been brought up before but I really think there should be a forum for skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, seborrhea and just general dry skin problems. There's one for oily skin but not dry skin, unless I'm missing something. There's also one for rosacea and I see a lot of dermatitis/eczema posts in the rosacea forums and although a few of the symptoms are the same, they are not the same thing. Maybe just make a general "Dermatitis" forum where all of these are included? They are all common skin problems, especially for people who have used tons of products and damaged their skin in which the ending result is usually some form of dermatitis. I think a lot of people here have experienced that and I think its own forum would help gather a lot of the knowledge and personal experiences people have had. I would certainly like to hear what worked/didn't work for people for these skin conditions but it's not as easy if the posts are spread throughout 5 different forums. I also think people would be more likely to post about their experiences if it has its own forum.. These skin conditions are some of the hardest ones to deal with, they deserve some more attention.

I'm not sure this is the right forum, so please tell me if it isn't.
The image tags don't seem to be working. It only started happening recently. I've tried with a whole variety of browsers. IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome (the one I use the most), but they still don't work.
Not a big deal at all, but it's a little funny.
Any answers are very much appreciated

.
Thanks!

This is just a small request to have moved posts not show up in their original forum. To me it just seems to add a lot of clutter to the forums, especially with a forum such as this where there are a ton of new threads (mostly without much useful/new content).
I know with other forum software (vBulletin) when moving a thread you can choose to not have the redirect show in the original forum, or to have it show temporarily. I imagine this is an option with IP.Board. What do the mods/admins think?

Every forum page just takes far too long to load.
Its not giving me errors or anything - its just lags far too much. As in the site is experiencing more traffic than it can cope with.
Upgrade ur servers or get more bandwidth?

Hey guys, this is Kent. I work with Dan here at Acne.org. This is really cool so I thought I would post it. TLC, The Learning channel, is working on a documentary style program about people struggling with acne. They want to follow someone in their real everyday life to see how acne effects people both physically and emotionally. So if you're interested in participating, e-mail me at
kent@acne.org. You'll be helping to educate people about the effects of acne and hopefully to remove the stigma associated with acne, and you'll be helping to get the word out about Acne.org.

Has anyone noticed that some people say "Regime" instead of "Regimen" when discussing their acne treatment? I don't mean to put anyone down by pointing this out, so please don't take it that way (I just misspelled All>Alle in the Introduce yourself section) I just think it's funny to read aloud.
"I am all cleared up thanks to Dan K's REGIME" lololol
Funny but somehow fitting when you think about how you need to adjust your lifestyle in order to get clear skin....
No Offense to Anyone! This is simply for LOL's

From what I understand, the current system requires a moderator to approve the comment before it appears on the board. But it's kind of frustrating to receive the notification email telling me I got a comment, only to come here and find that I can't read the comment yet.
Can we just allow users to delete other users' comments within their own gallery? Or report users who leave inappropriate comments? At the very least, it would be good to delay the comment notice email until after the comment has been approved.
I understand why moderation is necessary for the images themselves, but I think I would like to see comments appear automatically. I would really like to see gallery comments handled in a more efficient way. Thank you for reading. : )
EDIT: My last comment was not approved until over 72 hours after I'd created it.

that we aren't able to delete our accounts. It's like we are forever attached to this place, a constant reminder that we once went through hell, if we're lucky enough to see the end.
I understand the "no requests" in terms of account deleting, but why the hell can't we delete them ourselves? Plenty of other online communities have this option.
This needs to be added!!!

Ok, I'm having some problems. I'm quite frustrated. I was ordering Dan's BP, and it just sat there when I clicked "order now", for like 5-10 minutes. I didn't want to refresh, and i didn't. But, it ended up charging my card seven times. I checked my bank account. I don't know what to do? Is there any kind of number I can call?

Hiya! So far there are two parts of the forum that do not have thread previews when the mouse is hovered over the topics: 1) Nutrition and holistic health 2) Emotional and psychological effects of acne. If I find any more I'll add them. If this could be remedied that would be great! It's a useful tool to know if we can contribute to the thread without even entering it (and because sometimes the content of the threads do not match the topic titles).
ETA:
International Regimen supplies
Main portion of Personal regimen logs (the subforums have the preview)
Body acne
Main portion of Prescription acne medications (the subforums have the preview)
Main portion of General acne products (the subforums have the preview)
Acne research
^^^These as well.

Really. It's starting to get annoying. The pagination system doesn't work as it should. I'm not going into explaining this, I'm sure you've all noticed it. Someone should message the admin to get it sorted. Also, this forum uses a poor script. You should be able who has replied to your topics, posts etc. Time for change.
