This is a question to you people out there who lift weights/try to put on muscle and follow a low carbohydrate diet. Most lifters try to spike their insulin after workouts to get carbs and protein into the muscles asap. That is basically the complete opposite of what we want as far as defeating acne is concerned. We try to minimize insulin spikes and avoid carbs.

For those that follow a low carb diet and lift weights: have you noticed a decrease in gains, strength, endurance, tone, or any other aspect because of your lack of carbs?

Thank you.

How come every time I use the search function I get like 8 million threads. It seems like no matter what I type in I get 20 pages worth of results (limited to the first 1000). Am I doing something wrong, or is the search function just useless?

We all know that getting proper digestion is key to preventing acne, absorbing nutrients, and overall health. I can not find conclusive evidence out there, but I have read many "reports" saying that you should not drink immediately before, during, or after eating because it dilutes the digestive juices and enzymes as well as decreasing saliva production. It makes sense in a way, I just don't know if its really like that or not.

The general recommendation is no fluids 1/2 hour before eating until at least 1 hour afterward.

P.S. where would soups / shakes / smoothies come into play if this theory was true?

Has anyone tried this and noticed a significant difference in digestion, how they feel, or acne condition?
and/or
Does anyone have a reputable source proving or disproving this theory?

I have been considering trying a dairy/gluten/wheat-free diet based on beef, fish, eggs, chicken, turkey basically. It would just be a short term diet to test the effects of carbohydrates on acne, so I am not worried about the nutritional quality. However, I am wondering about the fiber intake. I would initially try it without fruits and even vegetables, so fiber intake would be zero. I don't want to supplement any either (psyllium) I know there are native peoples that do this and don't get constipated, but I was wondering what the experiences were of people on here who have done a low/zero carb diet?

OK I hear conflicting reports all the time. Historically, I can't ever remember seeing people eating and not drinking anything. Furthermore, every health expert recommends tons of water, including with meals. I think water is incredibly important, but I have read on here more than once that people recommend not drinking anything around mealtime, because it dilutes the stomach acid and therefore weakens digestion.
Opinions?

As a fellow Olive Oil user I have to ask a question. Did you notice that all the whitehead plugs came out much faster when you switched over to the Olive Oil? It seems like I'm getting rid of things every other day, and some in places that aren't my problem areas. Just wondering.
