How many of you guys use AHA as a nightly moisturizer, somewhere around once every 3 days and have gotten nice results from it? Or is it better to use everynight, every other night, once a week, twice a day. Ah im just bored, im sure it varies between people, but go ahead tell me how you use your AHA and how well it works for ya ; )

i read somewhere that benzoyl peroxide can cause skin to age faster because it dries it up and that will increase the risk of it getting wrinkles at an earlier age?!
is that true??
if so then does moisturizing after bp application prevent that from happening??

HELLO
I have been suffering from Acne for 2years now and am feeling very stressful on it. When i was a teenager, i didnt even have one pimple on my face and had no idea how the acne felt like.
BUT all of the sudden at the age of 20, i had a really tough time due to familly problem so i started having the extreme stress and as i got stressed out, my face was getting filled up with acne.
I recently purchased the Regimen products and just got them a few days ago. I have watched all the videos on how i have to apply and use
I also glanced other people's opinion about this products and already started using them in order to clear up my acne but i have a few question so im trying to get help from you guys
I just applied one full pump of BP at the first time and luckily i had no problem with dryness but a bit of redness that i don't really care and believe its going to subside pretty soon
When do i have to start using 2 full pumps of BP? should i just start right now? if i don't experience the dryness? I was kinda worried about getting dry on my face because my type of face is mainly dry and sensitive so i really don't want to get my face dried up.
And second thing i want you guys to give me some help is about AHA
The website told me that AHA can be used as a moisturizer and spot treatment at the same time
Do you guys think that i have to use AHA as a spot treatment after applying the moisturizer?
If i do have to so, how much AHA do i have to apply on my face after using moisturizer?
I also have VICHY Full Set (NORMATHERM)and CETAPHIL Moisturizer and do you guys think i should use them with Dans products?
IF the products from here aren't working after a couple month, im thinking to prescribe Accutane
and that doesnt work either, Im thinking to go see dermatologist to get a laser treatment.
Becuz i really want my face cleared up by next summer...so I 'd appreciate in advance for u guys advice and tips..
THANKS

I work in the cosmetics industry. I have to wear make-up to work - there is no getting around it. I have always had light to moderate acne (depending on hormones and where I am in my cycle) and I also have super, SUPER sensitive skin. I am prone to rashes from products and random things in the environment. I had been using Cosmedix products for almost two years with a fairly high level of success, and then one day, they just stopped working.
I am interested in starting the REGIMEN using Dan's products, but I don't know/understand what I'm supposed to do about make-up. Ten seconds of face-washing is not enough to remove my make-up, and even if I wash for over ten seconds, will Dan's product be strong enough to remove make-up without being so strong it irritates my skin?
Has anyone had any experience with the make-up/gentle face wash conundrum? What have you tried? What has worked for you?

Hallo! I have a bit of a weird/stupid question..
I bought a couple of cheapo plastic travel containers from the dollar store for some regimen product, as well as a spray bottle for my witchhazel toner.. since I hate cottonballs.
I was wondering if the quality of plastic/container matters? I'm worried that the plastic chemical could seep into the product, or something.
Am I just being silly?
Thanks.

Ok so ive been on Dan's Regimen for 7 months now! wow! so anyways my old computer pooped out on me a few months ago so havent really been able to keep up with current topics..
So heres my question. I went to Wal-mart the other day to get a bottle of Olay Complete for sensitive skin cause my bottle was almost empty, and I realised that the bottle was slightly different. Well I just figured that they just redesigned the packaging like alot of companies have been doing to me lately, so i bought it anyways.
When i got home later i decided to compare the bottles and noticed the ingredients arent the same. The new one doesnt have any Zinc Oxide in it. so this has me alittle worried... has anyone else noticed this? does Dan still recommend this moisturizer?
Im sorry if im asking something thats already been answered a million times. this is the first time ive been able to check this site in like 3 months. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Got my package in the mail today! I placed an order for 2 big kits and a bottle of AHA late sunday night; no complaints with shipping. However, when i opened the package, all but the AHA & 2 bottles were opened; two pumps were partially unscrewed! Extremely dissapointed with the handling of the products as most arrived with product oozing from the pump. I will order in the future, but i think the shrink wrap would've prevented all of this mess and waste of product!

Hi there,
I've been on the regimen for about 10 months now. Recently I noticed I have small wrinkles under my eyes; I am 18. Dan says this is to be expected if one puts the BP too close to their eyes.
So my question is that has anyone ever encountered this problem, and how long will it take for the bags under my eyes to disappear if I stop putting the BP close?

Hi everyone...
Until recently, I used the Proactiv system (with 2.5% BP) for years with no trouble. I just got a bottle of Dan's BP and every time I put it on my eyes have a burning, watering reaction to it (I don't put it very close to my eyes or in the eye area). Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone have any idea what might be going on?
Thanks!

Hi,
I've been on the regimen for about 10 months and it's been pretty awesome.
I saw results right away, and I've been clear for the most part.
What I did notice though, was that I would experience mild breakouts once in a while (not frequently). I didn't understand what I was doing wrong, especially since nothing in my regimen or eating habits had changed. But after much experimentation, I realized that it was due to excessive drying of my skin. Now, I try to keep my skin hydrated and everytime I feel a breakout emerging, I use extra moisturizer and amazingly, the bumps subside. I do use AHA to take care of the flakes (of which it does an amazing job of) but recently, I've been adding moisturizer after and I think my skin likes it more...it just feels more supple. AHA is great but I still feel like my skin is really dry sometimes.
Anyhow I posted this thread since I've been reading a lot of stuff about how the regimen suddenly stopped working for people, or how they haven't been seeing results. Bottom line: moisturizing is crucial!!! I think we tend to forget that, especially long-time regimen users.
Hope this helps some of you.

I was hoping for a little advice....
I just ordered and received two bottles of Dan's 16oz BP, and one of the bottle pumps was "up", and had a little bp spilling over the neck.... do you think its still usable(i.e. not contaminated)?
Last time I received my bp, it was tightly sealed with cap and platic wrap, but not this time. Is this cause for concern??
Thanks!
Mike

Hi All,
I have been on the Regimen for over 5 years: Cetaphil Bar - Dan's BP - Garnier Pure A Moisturiser.
I'm 24, and only get spots in one place, the inner parts of my cheek, diagnally between the bottom of the nose and the top corners of the lip. These spots are not pus-filled, instead they are big, red, cyst-like type things. They last for around 3 days.
So...As Dan's 2.5% BP tends not to prevent these (I get around 1 a week), I wondered whether I should try a 5% BP in this area of my face alone to see if it works? I know it will potentially increase redness and itchiness etc, but is it likely to deal with these spots in a way that the 2.5% can't (considering how long I've used 2.5 for)?
Does 5% just increase the SPEED of effectiveness, or is it MORE EFFECTIVE in treating too, because of it's higher %? (I'm aware of Dan's theory of 2.5 being just as effective in copious amounts, but considering the stubbornness of my problem, is 5% worth a go in this area alone? Or is it unlikely to help?)
Any thoughts anyone (especially Brandy, if you have a moment please! (you're a star by the way

Many thanks everybody!

I have used AHA+ two times in the span of 1 week, and it seems to be making my skin purge. I have a lot of clogged pores and they seem to be "coming out". Is this normal when using AHA+? When do I see acne start to fade?

At first I thought BP couldn't cause wrinkles like people claimed. I assumed they meant it causes excessive drying, which looks like wrinkles. But I read on some website about the effects of BP.
The site said that BP CAN cause wrinkles and damage the skin....because the effects of using BP are similar to the effects of being in the sun with no sunscreen on. Then I read what Dan said about it, and he said BP does NOT cause wrinkles. I am confused here. Who do I believe? Is Dan a skin expert who knows this for a fact?

Well its the first three days and I have a few questions. For one thing they are itchy for a bit, and that's normal from what I was told. Now, some of them have like enlarged or something like the bumps became bigger bumps but with the whiteheads showing. I was wondering what I should do with them. Do I just leave them alone and continue with the regimen?

First off I am a long term BP Gel user - being using it since Dan first started making these products.
So I recieved my BP Gel today, and the first thing I noticed was woah - this stuff smells. The smell kinda reminds me of TCP (the antiseptic).
It's also way more stingy/tingly (but not unbearably so) - and seems thicker!
So I ran a search on this forum and found this thread:
http://www.acne.org/messageboard/BP-Change...ml&hl=smellPretty much everything being described there is what I've noticed with this batch.
Now - judging by the thread, the issue has been resolved?
However the batch number of my gels are 9152.
They all smell real strong.
Is this anything to worry about or what? I mean - the smell is kinda bad, I'm used to my BP Gel being near odourless. The stinging isn't too bad but it's not really ideal.
What's the deal? :S

Hi, I've used several products on the market and I have a question.
Is their such a thing is insensitive skin?
I've used Benzoyl Peroxide, Retin-A, Salicylic Acid etc.
And they always warn that it might irritate skin and make it red and peel and
even feel like a sunburn.
I never ever ever experience those effects, all they really do is dry my skin a littleeeeeeeeeee
bit. I do moisturize, but it doesn't seem necessary since the products hardly dry my skin. (I do moisturize for the wrinkles

)
I'm light brown skinned so I understand that I wouldn't get red as easy as someone who is really pale, but I mean really...
So anyways.. I'm on differin at night now, with Benzoyl Peroxide (Acne.org Regimen) in the morning. Now is the first time ever that I'm experiencing a light burning sensation on my skin. (Really light) but was just wondering if there's such a thing as insensitive skin and that since I'm using BP + Differin it is just the right amount to have an effect.

I've been using the Acne.org regimen for three weeks and am extremely disappointed with the results so far! I've tried Proactiv as well as several otc's. My face looks worse now than it did before I started the regimen. My confidence is shot! I was really hoping this was gonna be the product to get me over the hump of my acne problem. So far it has definitely been a waste of my time and money! Anyone have any advice or help?

Does Dans Jojoba oil have an expiration date?
Where do you store it? In the fridge or can you just leav it on a shelf or table??

I introduced the AHA into my Rgimen about 3 weeks in .. my skin is fairly "sturdy" and isn't generally bothered or inflamed by acids or retinoids or pretty much anything I've ever tried, so I figured "what the heck ?"
And I love it !! First of all, I can actually FEEL it working, that the AHA in there really is effective and doing something. I get a little itchy, tingly feeling that passes after about 20 minutes. I have tried a LOT of products over time, and to find one that seems this good - for $17 !! - is amazing.
Also, I originally thought it was balling up a bit - and maybe it is, a little, but I use it at night so that doesn't matter - but I also think that I'm actually rubbing off dead skin cells !! My theory is that the BP I've been on for a couple weeks has really loosened up a bunch of dead skin cells, and this AHA is just sloughing them off. Which is AWESOME for my pores.
At age 40, my skin now looks better than it has in AT LEAST 10 years !! That's an amazing statement to be able to make, and it feels GREAT.

hi, i am new to the boards.
ive been using some of the acne.org products for about a month and a half now.
i have a few questions.
this is my routine:
i wash with coalface soap from lush. i have used this product for a long time and im happy with it/dont want to change.
i use jojoba oil as a toner. i dab a small amount all over my face and remove with a cotton pad.
i have noticed that i am getting a LAUGHTER LINE since i started this part of my routine. why would this be happening? (i am 24) i am sure it is the jojoba, because when i switched back to my old toner for a while, my mouth line faded dramatically, but my pores became blocked again...

i use BP to spot treat any acne and then apply AHA+.
i am about to purchase the acne.org moisturiser, could the problem with the mouth wrinkle be that my face isnt moisturised enough? (i am currently relying on AHA+ as moisturiser because my old moisturiser made my skin look awful)
whenever i leave the house i use spf50+ sunscreen, and i live in the uk so im not in the blazing sun at all.
would it be okay to use AHA+ AND the moisturiser together twice a day?
i love AHA+ because it is really helping my skin look better... its almost cleared pigmentation i had from 1+year old acne with twice daily use.
i just dont know what to do, i dont want to cause anymore wrinkles or anything :/
i know the obvious thing would be to remove the jojoba, but its so great at keeping my pores clear.
