I just got my order from Dan, but a couple of bottles don't have shrink wrap on them. Did I get used or returned bottles by mistake? I'm not saying that someone did this on purpose. We all make mistakes. I'm just wondering if anyone else had the same experience?

I'm currently using proactiv (ya i know, here come the boos) and I'm thinking about switching over to Dan's acne products. I'd say that i have mild acne and i know don't have it the worst but I'm a pretty self conscious about how my face looks. My acne hasn't been that bad until this year when the colder weather started to arrive. I'm not really sure if dryness due to the weather is the main factor but it would be nice to here some opinions. What would you recommend and why? Thanks in advance.

Simply put, The formula in the old blue tubes kept me 99%-100% clear all the time for the last two years. I re-ordered the bp gel (now in the white bottle) thinking it was the same formula but immediately started breaking out and have been breaking out for over two months. I started using the white bottle formula in august 08. I had a little bit of bp gel left from the blue tubes which I used for a few days and sure enough my skin cleared up again.
I have noticed many other users are having the same reaction to the new formula as well as others who probably don't even realize that the problem is infact the new formula.
The only change I see in the ingredient list is the switch from Propylene glycol to Butylene glycol. I'm not sure if there are poorer quality ingredients being used also or what the problem is.
I am not trying to make anyone upset but am just trying to bring to light what is going on as I know you (Dan) are commited to your customers and making their acne dissapear. You and your BP gel have been a godsend for the last two years and I believe it was the best acne product out there.
PLEASE CHANGE BACK TO THE OLD FORMULA, so me and many other users can get back our clear skin. Or sell both the OLD and NEW formulas and you will quickly see which one is preferred.
Other users please make sure to post here if you are having the same problem.

The salicylic acid that many of you asked for is now available. I will not be putting this product on the main page of danielkern.com. It will only be available through
this link.
I'm keeping the salicylic acid somewhat of a secret because I made a very limited amount of it. I want you guys to give me feedback before deciding whether to make this a staple product. If you do decide to order it I'm asking for you to commit to taking a
one page survey on it so we can all decide what we like about it and what needs changing and whether to make it in larger batches for the general public.
More about it: It is a light feeling, moisturizing cream which has 2% salicylic acid. This is the legal limit. 1 1/2% of that 2% is good 'ol regular sal acid, and 1/2% is time released. After speaking with several master formulators we decided on 1/2% time released so that we get an initial boost of sal acid and some extra lingering and being released slowly. Salicylic acid, as we know, helps peel inside the pore, keeping pores from clogging and initiating acne. I also put a ton of other stuff in this product. I included
lichochalcone, a Chinese licorice root extract which is potently calming and soothing to acne-prone skin. This is the same stuff that's in our
AHA+. I also put sebum reducers to help control oil. Lastly, I put natural antimicrobials in there. My theory with this product is to attack acne from every possible angle, using all of the very latest performance ingredients on the market.
The cream absorbs quickly into the skin. It is a kind of tan/yellow color due to the licochalcone. It has a characteristic odor due to the combination of natural ingredients. This scent be a little strong when applying it, but it goes away completely in a matter of a minute or two.
My bottom line on it: You guys know I am always completely honest. Well, here goes some more honesty...salicylic acid is not benzoyl peroxide, no matter what other performance ingredients you put in there. Benzoyl peroxide is our workhorse. It's what will clear up acne completely when used within the
Acne.org Regimen. However, I do think this salicylic acid is the best ever made if I do say so myself. It's time released and is jam packed with other stuff that I think will really help. It's absolutely everything I can possibly throw together to bump up salicylic acid's effectiveness. I tried it myself for about six weeks. I used it in the morning and benzoyl peroxide at night, which was great because I could wear colored clothing during the day without worrying about bleaching anything. This regimen of sal acid in the morning and benzoyl peroxide at night kept me clear for the first four weeks or so, but then I started breaking out just a bit here and there. I prefer 100% perfect skin, so I went back to the full Acne.org Regimen with benzoyl peroxide twice a day.
Currently I keep some of this salicylic acid around and use it as a nighttime moisturizer when I'm in the mood. Because this salicylic acid is so soothing, I can use it with my benzoyl peroxide no problem.
My bottom, bottom line is really to wait until you guys give me feedback on it so we can all decide together how good this stuff is. At that point I'll decide whether to keep making it.

I recently started using the Acne.org AHA at night. Yesterday evening I thought I'd add some extra moisture to my skin after the AHA had completely dried, but somehow it had a very odd reaction to the AHA. It was like the moisturizer turned to water as soon as it came in contact with my skin

! Has anyone else noticed this?
Are we not supposed to put moisturizer over the AHA (I did this because the AHA isn't moisturizing enough for me)?
There's nothing wrong with the moisturizer AFAIK, because this morning after BP it went on like it should...
Thanks in advance

I just recieved the AHA+ and I've used it for about 3 days now. I have extremely clogged pores, when you pull a little on my skin you can see them under the surface (little white bumps). So now that I've been using the AHA the little white bumps are getting closer to the surface and some have even become a full blown zit! Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? Does it eventually end? I'm hoping its a temporary process and it will leave my skin nice and smooth. Or am I making things worse?

Hey you guys. I got a sample back from our manufacturer which no longer balls up at all. But it's a little thin for my taste so I'm going to have them thicken it up a tad. Anyway, we're gettin' there. I'll keep you posted.

Sorry if this is posted somewhere obvious but I can't seem to find it. I'm moving in 3weeks, if I order a kit this weekend when should I get it? Will it say "acne.org" on it (I'd rather it didn't).

I do the standard cleanser, BP, and moisturizing steps 2x a day. I recently got some AHA and I don't know where to add it into my routine. Dan has videos of it being a moisturizer but it isn't doing a good enough job at that for me, can I put the regular moisturizer on after the AHA?
This is what I just did a few moments ago.
-Cleanser
-BP
-AHA
(add in moisturizer after aha?)

Or more drying? Or about the same? I've been using Neutrogena On-the-Spot (not just as a spot treatment but all over my face in accordance with the Regimen), but I'm thinking of buying the Acne.org gel because it looks like it would glide over the skin more easily. But the Neutrogena is already incredibly drying and wrinkle-inducing on my face, and if the Acne.org gel is going to be more so, then I'd rather stick with the Neutrogena. I understand they're both 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, but I wonder if one formulation is somehow less harsh than the other.

I just received my kit of Dan's products last week, but this week I ordered the jojoba oil as well.
I can't tell you what a difference jojoba oil makes in the regimen.
I use it to remove makeup and also as a moisturizer over bp/or just mixed with Dan's moisturizer. I also do a technique mentioned on the forums where you wash your face, mostly dry it, then rub a little jojoba over your face, wait 2 minutes and towel the excess off, then put on your bp.
I can't tell you what a difference jojoba oil makes. AFTER TWENTY YEARS OF IRRITATION FROM BP, I NOW HAVE NONE.
This stuff is amazing. Dan if you are reading this, please know that there are now studies on roceasa patients that show that jojoba oil is an effective anti-inflammatory. Maybe that's why I have no irritation. I was so intrigued with the jojoba oil I started researching it and found the study.
I also appreciate that Dan's moisturizer is heavy in jojoba, as it's main ingredient.
I also now use jojoba as a leave in hair conditioner and body lotion. It's uses are endless.
It should be an essential part of the regimen, in my opinion, not just an option.
Oh I love the dropper bottle too. Much less messy than other brands in regular bottles, I'd imagine.
Have I said enough? Folks if you haven't already, try this stuff!
sorry, in my enthusiasm I worded it wrong, I was in such a rush to post!
I got my jojoba for the first time WITH THE KIT and used it all together. I have never used the jojoba before, but I have used the other products.
That's how I know jojoba is amazing.

I have been thinking about using BHA (salicylic acid ) under bp at night to exfoliate. I hear it is a very good way to exfoliate, and my skin had not been irritated at all by the dkr so far. Since Dan came out with his SA i think im going to try it soon. What do you guys think?

I am so tired of having the same old Regimen problem in one form or another. Now I bought Dan's AHA, and it balls up. I then read in the posts that I needed to wait a 1/2 hour after thoroughly massaging in my BP and that did not help. When I use it without BP altogether, same result. It comes off in balls and makes a mess of my hair and clothes. I need to wear face makeup, but in order to do so first I have to sweep my face gently with my hand to remove un absobed or excess BP. I think Im using a reasonable amount. I surely do not invest the same amount of time massaging in the AHA as the BP. I had the same problem with, BP doing this when I was using Neutrogena moisturizer with AHA. Please dont tell me that I have to use sweeping motions to applying my makeup because it wont work. There is a certain necessary amount of vigor to apply foundation and that AHA starts to ball up right away no matter how gentle I am. What is the real problem?

I washed my face normally and then put on the moisturizer right after because it makes my face less shiny (also, i was having a friend over and didn't have time to use the treatment)... Now my friend left and i have a question: am i more beneficial washing my face over, putting the treatment on, and putting the moisturizer on or should i just put the treatment over my moisturizer right now?? (The treatment over the moisturizer will NOT make my face itchy / red / peal.)

I haven't read any posts about this product, so I thought I would add one. There is a product that I like to use during the cleansing process that helps me remove some dead skin cells. It's the Aveda Facial Shammy. It's very soft, smooth, and doesn't irritate my skin. I use it to remove the cleanser after washing my face. What's nice about it is that when it's wet it incredibly soft, then when it dries it becomes hard which supposedly keeps bacteria out for the next use. Once wet again it becomes soft. Keep in mind that it isn't going to remove all flakes, but I have noticed some improvement. For how long it lasts, it's relatively inexpensive...about $9. It can be washed in an ordinary washing machine, but doesn't need to be washed after each use. I haven't washed mine yet and haven't noticed any residue from previous uses.
I originally got it because I used Clean and Clear Cream Cleanser for Sensitive Skin, which doesn't come off clean with just water and I didn't want to risk applying too much pressure with my hands, so the shammy came in handy.
Just thought I would throw this out there for everyone as an option. For those who have tried it, or do use it...What do you think?

Hi, I have been using the DK regimen for a few years now and it works really well for me. I love the treatment and the cleanser, especially because they are both compatible with makeup. Unlike other BP creams, the DK cream never creates a cakey effect with foundation. The cleanser is great for taking off makeup as well, whereas most gentle cleansers are not. I use Eucerine Everyday Protection Moisturizer because it has spf 30 and is great for fighting flakiness. I use an Aveeno night cream that makes my face really soft and glowy in the morning.
I recently received a sample of the DK moisturizer with my usual order and I have to say I absolutely love it! It is so light but makes my face feel really soft and clean. I would order it right now, but I am vigilant about wearing sunscreen and it doesn't contain any. I really hope that sometime in the future it will be available with at least spf 15, if not 30.

I recently started the regimen (and am loving it), but I have questions about it's propensity to bleach clothes. I am currently in between sizes (lost some weight) and am beginning to buy new clothes. Are there any colors or types of fabrics that I should stay away from because they are more likely to bleach?

I have been on this Regimen for almost 3 years. When beginning the Regimen I immediately got saggy under eye skin, so I was always sure to keep the BP away from them and used the minimum amount and stuck with my jawline as the rest of my face was o.k. but not perfect. Doing the program this way always kept my skin relatively pimple free but still lots of congestion around chin, jawline and nose. But I still saw great improvement.
But now my acne has steadily escalated and I'm sick, sick, sick of living with acne, so I upped the BP and am using it on my forehead, nose, lower cheek area, and temples too. I really am staying away from my eyes. Hello again saggy, wrinkled under eye skin. Good eye moisturizer wont help much. Do I have to trade a clearer complexion for saggy eyes?
P.S. I can say unequivocally that this increase in BP both in putting it on my whole face and using more, is definitely working. Even my congested skin is almost gone. YAY!!

Ok, so heres the deal I ordered the AHA a few days ago and it should be arriving tomorrow or the day after. I'm wondering if anyone here, with personal experience, would recommend one over the other when it comes to fading red marks (I have TONS and it makes it look like I severe acne when I only have mild =[ ). I just started the ACV Toner treatment and I'm pretty sure that using both at the same time would a negative impact rather. So, Dan's AHA or ACV?
