Alright! Here goes nothing! I'm trying out this regimen! I just abruptly stopped my derm stuff this morning! No more duac, differin, and ziana! I was on them for about 3 months and saw a very gradual improvement but not the results I wanted. Also, my face was so irritated from the duac in the morning! I really hope this works! Proactive worked for a while, so I'm hoping this regimen will do better! Wish me luck! I'll post tomorrow in regards to day 2.
Day 1:
2 healing pimples on my left cheek, 3 red spots
1 healing pimple on my right cheek
1 active pimple on my right cheek
no pimples on my chin
no pimples on my nose
no pimples on my forehead
mostly my cheeks are the problem area.

Wasup everyone im new to this and i been checkin this website reading reviews and stuff and finally decided to become a member. I'm a very observant person so i didnt picture myself actually writing in this but im doing this just to tell u guys if im seeing results. After all the reviews i finally decided to give this Dan's regimen a try. I only bought his benzoyl peroxide since i got my own cleanser and moisturizer that im satisfied with.
Im turning 17 next week (yay) and im a senior.I been havin acne for 2 years and at first i would grow a pimple or two and i would trip out because this is something new to my life and i dont want it, its a big confidence killer. So i bought the most overated acne system: Proactive. And it work althought my acne was very minor so i pretty much wasnt consistent on it.So i stopped and after a couple weeks i would gain more acne a couple more pimples( about 8-9) a week.around my face,my temples,nose,and cheeks, and i hate it when i have a pimple on my nose its a big ass confidence killer. i know its very minor now that i think about it but back then i was worried so i told my mom we need to go to a dermatologist. he prescribed me Doxycycline, benzaclin and adapalene.
Let me tell you it worked so good i saw results quick and it lasted for 8 months with clear skin dam it was beautiful i looked good. Im sayin it with confidence im not braggin i actually look really good my face was so clear my complexion was excellent and i was very confident with friends and all...
BUT it lasted for 8 months and slowly i would see breakouts and pimples rising.slowly but surely. So i went to my dermatologist and he told me my body got used to the pills so he prescribed me some other stuff i forgot. but prety much after that my face would breakout more,,more pimples. and i would experience my first cysts on my nose and only my nose i have NO IDEA WHY but dam thats the biggest confidence killer for me. Prety much went through everything the doctor gave me except for other pills and except accutane.The thing with me is my pimples isnt horrible i seen worse and i feel sry for them ,my acne is moderate. i would have pimples and one or two big big pimples(cysts im assuming.) and one or two zits.my acne was noticeable but nothing big like dam basically. but the thing is i would try all these things the doctor gave me consistently but it didnt take my acne away. No improvement at ALL!no change is still the same.
2 years later which is NOW and my acne is still the same two big pimples on my nose and a couple on my temples and cheeks.
So i been on this site for a couple weeks and read alot of reviews so i might as well give this a try.
I started 2 weeks ago with the alternatives: Purpose cleanser liquid, Neutrogena on the spot, and La Roche- Posay Anthelios SX( its a daily moisturizing ream with SPF 15) to me its one of the best moisturizers.The first week the BP dried me up in a couple spots(nose, bottom part of face)then the second week no more dryness and acne didnt seem to change although ill admit no new breakouts either.
I ordered Dan's BP 4 days ago and just got it yesterday and im very happy wit the shippin, quick!!!
Sooo last night i put the cleanser, then waited 5 minutes then started the new bp and used one full pump and thought this is wayyy too much!it took me a long time just to gently spread it till it was dry.after i put the moisurizer and no dryness so im happy.
this morning i did the same 3 steps and i came back after school and noticed my face is a litttttle shiny but i think it looks nice. My pimples seem ok, no new breakouts its still the same but hey this is just the beggining.
SO OFFICIALLY THIS IS THE SECOND DAY OF MY REGIMEN AND NO IMPROVEMENT YET BUT NO SIDEEFFECTS ALSO. ILL UPDATE U GUYS
PEACE OUTTT

Hey all,
Well this is what I used and right after I got finished my face was red as fire and burned soooo bad I had to wash everything off and just apply lotion.
Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser
Neutrogena On the Spot 2.5% BP
Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion
I put the BP on my entire face and it set me on fire but I put the lotion on thinking it would cool it down but it did not. After 30 mins of my face on fire I washed everything off and only applied the BP to the pimples I have now which are 3 small ones, all right beside each other. I let all that dry and put lotion on and it seems okay but is still red as can be.
Any advice?
This is my first time using BP on my entire face, I usually use Tretinion Gel only on active pimples and zits.

Hey, everyone! I've tried so many things before, I'm a cliche. I've tried proactiv, neutrogena, 10% BP, salicylic acid, eating well, etc. etc. etc.
My acne is hormonal and stress related, I'm 21 now and I've always had acne, but when I was a teenager, it was fairly mild, nothing scarring. Two years ago, it flared up and recently it's been worse than every. One side of my face has a huge, dense cluster of red marks and pimples and my cheeks are both scarred/red marked.
I had a bunch of proactiv 2.5% BP leftover, so I was using that for a while. On Monday this week, I got my starter kit, 10% AHA, and the jojoba oil. Since my skin is used to BP, I started using a generous amount of it right away.
I love it! It is finely milled, and it doesn't have the stink of Proactiv fragrance in it! It shrinks my acne fairly fast. I got a new zit on my temple this morning and I did the regimen before going to my class at 7am-ish. Around 9-ish, I touched it (I know, I know, I'm not supposed to touch my skin) and it definitely shrunk down! I looked in the mirror when I got home and was so relieved to see that it looked like 3-5 days had passed on it.
I still get occasional pimples--I mean, come on, I've only been on the regimen for 5 days (but I've been on BP forever). But those pimples heal much, much faster. My red marks definitely aren't getting worse, I think the older ones are fading and the kind of red-ish ones are the newer ones.
You have to understand, my face was so bad that when I rolled over in my sleep, the delicate skin on the cystic acne and pustules would burst. It doesn't help that I'm so neurotic that sometimes I can't help but squeeze.
I hated proactiv, their cleanser made my acne bleed and I've used much, much better toners. I couldn't even cancel my stupid @#$@-ing membership until I paid for my next shipment so I could get my #@#%-ing account number, even though I could prove my identity in every other way.
The regimen starter kit is about 5 dollars cheaper than the proactiv default kit AND it's at least what, 4X bigger?!
I've been using the AHA at night, too--it stings/itches, but it only lasts for about 10 minutes and my skin has been looking...like someone else's skin. I'm so glad I found this website!

Little background on me. I'm 20 years old and a college student. I've had acne since I was 14 or 15, luckily for me the severity of the acne has significantly decreased in the last few years. I recently had a flare up which made me decide to start using ProActiv. It worked at first, but made my face extremely oily, and ended making it worse actually (after 7 weeks of use). My dad had acne for a while, but as he aged he grew out of it and my mom never had acne at all. So chances are I will eventually grow out of it, however I want it to go away now.
Here's what I'll be doing:
Morning:
Dan's Cleanser
Dan's BP
Dan's Moisturizer w/ Dan's Jojoba Oil
Night:
Dan's Cleanser
Dan's BP
Dan's Moisturizer w/ Dan's Jojoba Oil
I've used Proactiv for the last 7 weeks like I said, so I'm gonna start off with 1 full pump of BP.
Beginning Statistics (if you will):
4 to 5 actives
4 to 5 that are no longer active but in the process of healing (meaning they are no longer inflammed just a little red)
LOTS of red spots
By the way today will be my first full day using the regimen, so I'll update tomorrow with it being day 2.
Wish me luck!

The TWO main reasons I will be writing here are to report how I'm doing with my goal of stopping my skin picking and how Daniel Kern's Regimen is working for me.
I am 6 days into the Regimen and have already had to stop using Dan's moisturizer. It caused my face to be so itchy and uncomfortable that I had an even harder time keeping my fingers off my face than usual.
I'm a mom to two sweet children, ages 3 and 2. I've got to attend to them and will be back later. I'd love to have some picture updates here, but I don't know how to get them on this page. I'll have to research that too.

I just found this site so I have yet to buy any of the recommended products listed on here. I'm 19 and I have slight acne. I will get clusters of 2 or 3 pimples, all containing whiteheads or no head at all and I will get those about once a month. I also get the big pimples that are under the skin. My current regimen is what my dermatologist told me to do and so far I've been following it but it doesn't clear it up. I have also tried a few different things but this is what i'm doing now:
Morning:
Wash with Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser
Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer with Salicylic Acid, sometimes
Evening Before Bed:
Wash again with Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser
Apply Tretinoin Gel that is 0.025% and I apply that directly to pimples only, not entire face
Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer with Salicylic Acid, sometimes
I am considering buying the system on here or at least the BP. My other problem is I have redness around my eyelids and around my mouth, all the time. No matter what I do, I still have it. She gave me Hydrocortisone 2.5 to put around my eyelids and where redness appears but I find this will cause pimples around my mouth so I only use that on my eyes.
If you have any product suggestions or tips to cure this, please feel free. Thanks!

Hello everyone. I just now, about 15 minutes ago ordered the 8 oz. starter kit. This was not an impulse buy, i've been looking through the website and looking at others progress and decided that this was worth a try. I am 15 years old and i consider my acne moderate (correct me if i am wrong) and i will be taking pictures daily and posting messages daily. I have not used any other products on my face before mainly because i am super sceptical and the whole proactive thing seems like crap. Seriously those people say that they have been clear for so long but why do they still use the products regularly? I think if they stop using them the acne will come back and that is a mojor problem. Anyway enough of my complaining.... The reason i am actually posting this and logging it is for myself and to keep myself motivated and on track. If anyone looks through reads, and writes back on this post; then it is a bonus for me but mainly i am posting to stay on track. I chose the priority shipping and it claims to take 2-5 business days so i will post again when i recieve it. here is a picture of what i look like now and hopefully i never see my face in this condition again after Dan's products arrive.

Brief Background25/male. I had clear skin my whole life. Never even a blemish or pimple. It was probably about 2-3 weeks before my 21st birthday and I just started breaking out like crazy. I figured since I had always been clear it was probably just something temporary, well now just about five years later it has yet to disappear.
What it has done to meAt first I was down but like I said I thought it was just gonna go away so I figured it was no big deal. Well once I realized it wasn't going anywhere I really took it hard. Unfortunately, I let acne take over my life and could not overcome it. I was in great shape, always working out and eating healthy. I was very social and had a beautiful girlfriend. I began really stressing over the way I looked and it really put a strain on my relationship. Eventually we ended up breaking up and it was all my fault. I became so anti-social and never wanted to go out anywhere with her. I could just not deal with how bad I looked. The break up was hard on me because we were together for such a long time and never even had a fight prior to me acting like a douche.
There was a period of time that I moved on from being miserable over acne. I was back to being social and always going out and just being myself despite my acne. I was able to do this because in the back of my head I always thought I would soon grow out of it. Well that never happened and over the last 8 months to a year I have really been taking it hard. I am just miserable everyday thinking about it. Most days I can't even look at myself in the mirror. I'm back to my old ways of being very anti-social. I just hate going out and being around people. I hate when I have to be around family and just feel very uncomfortable.
My Acne I would post pics but I don't even own a digital camera. I think my sister might so I'll see. I guess I have mild to moderate acne. I don't get big zits or tons of pimples anymore. But on my cheeks it is very persistent and noticeable. The other issue is the red marks. I have so many red marks that on the outside it just looks like more acne. To make matters worse shaving is really a problem. I basically have to time when I shave so I don't look that bad. Because if I shave tonight and then I have to be around a lot of people tomorrow that would be a bad idea because everything would be even more visible.
My RegimenBasically I am just doing everything Dan has said. I am not going to deviate from it at all. I will do everything exactly as he says with the products he recommends and hope for the best. I gotta be honest I am not optimistic, even though I know I should be, because I just can't ever picture myself with a clear face again. Anyway, I ordered the starter kit plus the jojoba oil and the AHA.
*Alright I am sorry for the long rant everyone and don't expect you guys to read through that junk but I do feel better after writing all that so I guess that is a good thing. I figured I would start the log tonight because the products should be here any day now. I will be doing daily updates and hope to have some pics (clear skin ones of course

) Please feel free to post in here with any questions or comments. I would greatly appreciate it*

Okay, so I'm going to try to keep this fairly short since I know nobody wants to hear my life story.
I just turned 18 and I have very persistent acne, what I would call moderate severe. I have VERY oily skin and my acne almost always forms whiteheads, but I also experience some without whiteheads. Once in a while I get cysts deep down in, and I've noticed I've been getting more of those lately now that my face is all messed up (as you will read below). Often I will have a pimple go down only to have it come back in the same exact spot a week later.
I've tried EVERYTHING in the past! Proactiv (which made my face EXTREMELY greasy), clindamycin, AcneFree, baking soda, vinegar, Oxy, antibiotics, a lot of basic cleansers, and other methods, etc.
My last product was Carley's Clear and Smooth. Started out amazing, then huge, huge breakouts that left my face completely ruined, as you are about to see in the pictures. My face hasn't been this bad since I was 13! I stuck with it for many months thinking it was my skin purging, not at all the case. My pores were just getting progressively clogged and my acne was turning more cystic, so I quit it for good. Now I have a LONG road to recovery, especially since my red spots always last a very long time...in fact a lot of marks in the pictures are just red spots. Should I wait to deal with those AFTER (of IF) I get completely clear?
I just ordered Dan's regimen today. I will post updated pictures every week of my progress, starting 1 week after I receive the kit and do my first treatment. Please keep your fingers crossed for me and feel free to share any experiences that you've had with the regimen that you think I should be aware of.
Skin condition as of today:
Right Side:
[attachment=14740:102_2094.JPG]
Left Side:
[attachment=14741:102_2095.JPG]
Is there any hope for the regimen working for me with acne this severe? This is incredibly embarrassing for me since I'm very involved at school and such and have to be social.

Well, I just hit the 'purchase' button on a starter kit, it should be here to my dorm in 2-5 days, and then I can get started on it.
I noticed that this site has logs, and I thought it would be a great idea to try and track and see how my acne will hopefully improve. I remain skeptical after years of failed attempts to clear my acne, but the positive reviews have given me a bit of hope.
How about my acne history? (Shortened as best I could version!)
I started getting acne in middle school, around the 6th grade. It was bad- I had cystic acne, nodules, whiteheads, bumps, blackheads- my face became a war zone. Worse, I have the insane urge to scratch/pick acne. Every day, a 6th grader mind you, I had to coat myself in nasty coverup just to go to school. I looked like a horror movie, with gaping scabs and large, swollen bumps- and was constantly teased by my classmates, (I wasn't popular to begin with, my acne just made it worse.)
I started going to dermatologist after dermatologist. I tried everything- Retin A, Differen, Clearsil, Tetracycline... the works. Even birth control. I didn't see any results.
Years of struggling, I finally found one of the last doctors that I hadn't seen already- he was a bit nuts, but he gave me what the others had been too afraid to do- Accutane, (I was in high school by now) My lips cracked and fell off, blood drawn every months.. but after the completion of my first course, my painful cystic/nodular acne was gone.
That was fine and all, but I still had acne. Sure, it was a LOT better... but I had expected it all to be gone. I became extremely depressed, still having to slap on coverup over sores and bumps.
I did a couple more rounds of regular old acne medication. Nothing helped. My new doctor, (I'm sure the nutty one went to therapy or something) took one look at my face, my record, and immediately put me on a 2nd round of Accutane. I was happy.. but at the same time, extremely torn. Weren't you only supposed to use Accutane one time? I crossed my fingers.. maybe this time it would be gone for sure!
It was a shorter round than my first one, and the end results were the same- bit of an improvement, but not the acne free skin I had so desired. It was agonizing. I couldn't stand myself. I just wanted to break the cycle.
I tried more products during my final years of high school, like Proactiv for example. It didn't clear me, so I quit paying for the overpriced product. I tried simply living with it, but every day was a struggle.
I went off to college with my moderate acne, still searching for an answer. Over 3 years I've been here, still trying to clear my skin with medicine/over the counter meds-my latest 'try and cure acne' solution was to change my diet. I took out my beloved skim milk, and ate no sugars/sweets/fatty foods like fries and fried food. It helped... but here I am, Thursday morning with inflamed acne slapped on both sides of my cheeks. I'm trying a mask to help.. but my skin is so sensitive, that you can poke it and it becomes red. So I'm not thinking I'll look great today. Back to the coverup.
What drove me to buy the regimen? I've been lurking this site for about a month now- the Regimen looked nice, but I've been fooled before. However, reading through the testimonies, I could only wonder... will this work for me? Now having changed my diet, and still seeing acne, I am at my wit's end.
So, now I wait for the package to come. I bought the starter kit to give it a test- if this does work, I'll definately be buying the larger one. But I will wait. I've waited 6 years, haven't I?
I'll update when I get the Regimen, and try my best to log in results.
Crossing my fingers on this one-

I'm 20, female, and I've had acne since I was about 13-14. It always changes to mild, moderate, (I had pretty severe acne one time), but usually it's mild or moderate. But around 2 years ago, my acne started to worsen and I'd constantly break out and I hated it!! (I'm sure all you acne sufferers hate acne too. =() I've tried a lot of things you can get in drug stores, like neutrogena, clear & clear, clearasil, blah blah and they all never worked. I used proactive once too and it didn't do s*** which was really disappointing cause when you watch those commercials, they get your hopes up so high. My parents felt bad for me too, so they advised me to go see a doctor, so I went to my family doctor and he prescribed me with oral antibiotics. Those things didn't do anything for me either. I was on it for about 1 month or so and because it gets rid of all bacteria, it wasn't really good for my digestive system either. So I stopped taking that, and I tried another set of antibiotics which AGAIN didn't work. I was so disappointed at this point because I felt it was so unfair that I had to deal with this when I didn't ask for it. But anyways, I didn't focus too much about it and in a way (I know this sounds crazy) but I was glad I had acne because when I see someone with acne, I know how they feel about it. =). Anyways, because the antibiotics didn't work, my doctor referred me to a dermatologist and he told me to start taking diane 35 (birth control pills). It worked after about 2 months, made my skin less oily and it made my acne quite mild! I was pretty happy about it, but after about 6-7 months of taking it, it kinda just stopped working. And again my acne was coming back and so I finally stopped taking any about 2 months ago. My acne has worsened a bit since I stopped which is to be expected.
SOOO.. I finally decided to try this Clear Skin Regime! I started 4 days ago actually, and I'm hoping this regime will finally clear up my skin! I have very oily skin and I have quite a few red marks left from old acne, actually quite a LOT. But I know the scars will eventually fade, and the only way I'm gonna achieve clear skin is to have no more active acne!
Atm, I only have about 3 inflamed zits right now and a bunch of acne scars. I have asian skin so I tend to experience a lot more hyperpigmentation, which is pretty annoying..
So for the past 4 days, I've been using Cetaphil oily skin cleanser, dan's BP 2.5%, and neutrogena oil-free SPF moisturizer, night and day. I haven't noticed any significant improvement, but I have noticed that my face is getting quite pinky in colour, and my face is greasier after I put on the moisturizer. My face feels sort of irritated and itchy in some areas, but I've refrained from itching! I was using a full pump of the BP, but after reading some other regimen blogs, I'm going to only use about half a pump for the first week, and then slowly ramp the amount to 1 pump by week 2.
I just want to say, thank you for all those who have made personal regimen logs to help acne sufferers like me stay motivated. I really hope this works for me, and I'll keep posting my progress as well. This site has really given me encouragement, and I'll make sure to stay on this regime for a good 3 months. Wish me luck!!

The DKR has gotten me clear, and I am so thankful for it. Really, I should say that I am ecstatically and enthusiastically thankful for it. And now that I'm in my thirties and am getting older, I'm wanting to start thinking about improving the other aspects of my skin. I use sunscreen every day to avoid premature aging, but skin ages anyway, and I want to do what I can to keep my skin looking as young as I can.
I know that retinols have good anti-aging properties, but they typically are de-activated (simplistically speaking) with BP. I definitely don't want to stop with BP and have my acne come back so I did some research. I found out that Diacneal isn't de-activated by BP. Diacneal is a retinol-based anti-acne product that also has the nice side-effect of smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles and improving skin texture, like retinols do.
I had used Diacneal on its own before, but it wasn't enough to keep my acne at bay. The DKR is definitely what works for me with my acne. So now I'm embarking on an experiment, modifying this one part of the regimen to see if I can keep the amazing benefits of the DKR while adding another benefit. We'll see. My new regimen is the DKR + Diacneal. I still cleanse with the DKR cleanser. I still put a few drops of jojoba on my freshly cleansed skin. I still apply the DKR BP twice a day in the same amount. But with the BP at night, I add a thin finger of Diacneal. Then I moisturize with Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer. I used to use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion at night, but I figured that it would probably be too irritating to use with the Diacneal.
I am not recommending that anyone follow this regimen, but I thought that some others in my boat (in their thirties, and onward, and still battling acne) might be interested in the thread. I'll let you know how this works for me.

Day 1--Nov 20, 2008
~~~
I just got my supplies from Acne.org and I'm so excited!
Some background info on moi:
Hi, my name is John and I am from People's Republic of China. I was born there and lived there for 7 years. Now, I reside in Pennsylvania. I am a freshman (9th grade) in a new high school. I decided to try out DKR because I was sick of my acne and decided to do something about it. I bought a Starter Kit of out my own pockets...
. It arrived today, and here I am! My skin is somewhat oily and I wash it twice a day.
Ok, took a shower and did the Regimen. I'm going to follow the Regimen as close as possible.
Here are the pictures:
[attachment=14852:DSCN0649.JPG]
The three bottles!
[attachment=14854:DSCN0654.JPG]
Me!
[attachment=14853:DSCN0645.JPG]
Ok. Yes, my hair is straight up after a shower. So don't freak out over my hair.
~Acne Progress~
1 Papule
8 Pustules
A few whiteheads
Blackheads (I don't feel like counting them, too much). Mainly on my nose.
~~~~~~~~~~~
My first impression of the three bottles:
Cleanser- It was clear? lol.... I thought it was going to be like the BP. Put it on and counted to ten.
BP- This stuff look so "poofy"! It feel good to have it on

. After three minutes, my skin started to feel dry. X_X.
Moisturizer- Least fav out of the three. It has same texture as BP. But the stuff smell weird. Maybe I'm not just used to it, but it smells like vinegar... After a while, the smell disappears.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
UpdatesNov. 16, 2008- Been on Dan Kern's acne regime for 4 months.
- Started using Darn Kern's AHA+.
- Rotate Dan Kern's cleanser with home-made Olive Oil Scrub & Jason Tea Tree Gentle Cleanser .
Brief HistoryWell, my name is
Mini. I'm 19 years old and I've been battling acne for almost five years now. Like many of you, my acne started at very beginning of high school. Throughout freshmen and most of my sophomore year, I had a problem with a few blackheads on my nose and the occasional white head near my upper lips and forehead. Looking back, I was simply paranoid about my skin even though my acne wasn't that bad at all. I simply used
Neutrogena and
Clearisil to treat those icky pimples. It wasn't that bad until tenth grade when I started having breakouts after breakouts.
Huge cysts started and what not, and my parents decided to make an appointment with the dermatologist. He prescribed me
donocycline, and after five good months, I was pretty cleared up. I only had a few scars left behind and absolutely no pimples during the summer of 2005.
However, shortly after junior year began, my pimples started coming back because I was stupid enough to stop taking the pills. Instead of going back to my skin regime, my obsession grew and I started to try all different things (sometimes all at once) to make my acne disappear again: Proactiv, apple cider vinegar and baking soda regime, over-the-counter products (again), vitamins and fish oil pills, etc. Most of the things that I thought would solve my problem only made it worse.
It was only a year ago that I decided to stop everything and started
Dan Kern's acne regime. In addition to Dan's skin-care routine, I also had my pimples professionally extracted by an experienced skin expert, which did wonders to my skin. Currently, my skin is 90% clear. I still have a lot of ice-pick scars and a few deeper scars, but overall, I'm so much happier than I was before in my high school years. Just remember, don't lose hope and keep fighting. I'm not giving up and neither should you.
Main problems:
- Severe body acne
- Brown spots; hyperpigmentation
- Extreme oiliness
- Visible scarring
Note: I decided to go back on tetracycline, and I've been taking it since October 2008.
ExerciseI do an intense abdominal work-out routine coupled with a ten minute warm-up about every other day, for
three days a week. Exercising helps with the blood carrying necessary nutrients and oxygen to the skin and also releases endorphins, which are good when you're all stressed out.
Diet- No milk, cheese, or yogurt
- Whole grains instead of processed grains
- Lower the amount of really cooked and charred meat
- Add more fish, eggs, fruits, and vegetables
- Drink 2L of water ea. day
Hey everyone, I just ordered Dan's Starter kit a few minutes ago. I haven't even received my items yet(obviously lulz) but I'm excited already heh.
So I figured I'd make my regimen log info and such before I get lazy.
About me:
I'm a 15 year old Asian kid who's been suffering from Acne since the beginning of 7th grade. I'm
not very depressed/saddened by the acne but it really is embarrassing ;s.
7th Grade:
Acne wasn't bad, every two months I received a new big pimple, that'd go away in a week.
8th Grade:
Started getting acne on my forehead and under my eyes, still receiving pimples every 2 months.
Summer of 8th grade:
Tried proactiv, nothing, literally nothing happened
9th Grade:
Everything got worse D=! I started receiving new pimples(note how I said pimples not pimple) every week or 2 weeks. Also whiteheads started appearing more often.
Summer of 9th grade:
Tried proactiv AGAIN, first 2 weeks was good, however after that was a nightmare. I started receiving 5 pimples a week and received a big cyst on TOP OF MY NOSE that lasted 3 weeks! Embarrassing much?
So far in 10th grade:
Acne is worse than ever, receiving more nodules/cysts and a lot of whiteheads. Forehead acne is pretty much gone though, but receiving acne on the sides of my head(like where the temples are). Acne under left eye is pretty much just marks. but acne under right eye is an on and off thing. Receiving a lot more pimples on my nose
Note:
I will try my best to take a picture of my self every day but between homework and work, I might not find enough time/be lazy LOL! However, I will be sure to take a picture every week ;] Well atleast I hope ;s!
Most of my pictures will be from my phone because it is annoying to upload it from my sister's digital camera because I have to like flip it, crop it, resize, and such. However, the first original picture of me, a picture every 2 weeks, and the last picture(which is a long time from now haha) will be taken with good quality
(well the best quality the digital camera can make lool).
I'm really wear glasses, but for the sake of the first picture I took 'em off ;9
Good Day to all reading,
I have just received my supply for Dan's Regimen. I went full throtle and bought the 16 oz pack, I figure its a better deal, and to save on shipping and customs. I will be starting on dan's regimen tomorrow. I figure I would try to keep this updated atleast every week, but i'm aiming for every other day, if not everyday (depending on how my schedule is).
A bit of background before I start. I have what I would consider (based on some pictures posted) light to moderate acne. I get one or two nodules every once in a while, nothing too often. I have had acne since around grade 6. It has not affected my life that much. I'm very outgoing, and self minded. I have a sel esteem level that is enormous, but I'm not cocky. I just really don't care what people think. I'm myself.
I don't normally shave too often, I grow out a beard then trim and shave, and do the whole thing over again. For this regimen, I'm going to be shaving every other day.
I am going to start by usng one full pump of the
BP in the am and pm. Shaving in the am, and as well moisturizing twice daily.
I believe this will be it, until next time. So lets hope day 1 tomorrow goes well.
So....
I've been on the "regimen" for two days now. Woke up this morning and noted massive peeling on my face....but you know, I've had worse, so this is part of the process...gave myself the whole pep talk as I slathered on some more BP.
Came to work. Logged on to the site; reviewed the "regimen".
Um. Yeah. I've been using 5% BP. Not 2.5%.
I now suddenly want to leave work and go home, wash my face, and slather moisturizer on it because dear god, does my face hurt.
Will attempt this again...maybe in a week or so....after my face has fully recovered. Ugh.
Ok. I found this site through my research on acne after having a horrible relapse due to a lack in insurance coverage and being off my dermatologist prescribed regimen of 100mg doxycycline twice daily; tazorac %0.1 nightly and some salicylic acid/glycolic acid pads in the daytime (AM) for about four weeks. I resumed that once my new insurance started up in early September, and am now in the third month and am seeing absolutely no improvement. I also take Yasmin as part of my attempt to quell the angry face situation I have going on.
About a year ago, when I returned from a study abroad program in France, my face was clearer than it had ever been. Something over there (the water, the food, god only knows) did wonders for my skin...but as I live in MD and have massive student loans my goals to return to France solely to cure my face aren't going to be realized anytime soon.
After about a dozen dermatologists it seems and an equally enormous amount of combos and prescriptions, I am literally at my wit's end. I'm 23 years old and tired of this crap.
So, I saw this site and thought, "why not." What have I got to lose?
Here goes day one. I bought some 5% BP at my pharmacy while refilling my Tazorac prescription and am currently using Philosophy Purity face wash and Juice Beauty moisturizer. I slathered on the BP (maybe a little more than what is recommended on day one but a little BP is NOTHING compared to the crap I've been subjecting my poor skin to lately) and am saying a little prayer. Here are my day one photos:
(will post tomorrow AM as I cannot currently locate my card reader)
so... here I am. I guess i should explain a bit about myself huh?
I just turned 17 October 31. I have moderate acne, not too bad but just bad enough to be annoying. I have tried just about everything. Clearasil, neutrogena, acne free, proactiv, stridex and the list goes on. I just ordered the regimen about ten minutes ago and my face is already clearing up! just kidding... i know im not funny.
ANYWAY i decided to start this post to help other new comers and for them to help me. I am kinda terrified for the week 2 breakout, but hopefully it wont be too bad and ill be able to cover it with my bare minerals makeup (yum!).
CURRENT STATE OF THE UNION:
Chin: 1 developing pimple
Above Lips: 2 developing pimples
Right Cheek: 1 white head, 3 very small disappearing pimples
Left Cheek: 4 persistent tiny bumps
Forehead: Worst part of my body- 1 large white head, 4 pimples, a ton of persistent bumps, pretty darn red
i can't wait for the regimen to arrive!
!
I ordered the 3 piece kit (8 oz cleanser, bp, and moisturizer), the AHA and the jojoba oil (recommended to have on hand in case of sudden flakiness)
I am also thinking about going on a Pro biotic supplement... thoughts?
Alright, ill write again when the regimin arrives
Hopefully yours,
Danielle
I have been in the Regimen for over two months. I have definitely noticed a difference, though I had some issues with dryness. That was a problem for awhile because I couldn't use the recommended amounts of BP. Now, however, I have a better moisturizer and can use BP. I see blemishes fading, but I still have a long way to go, and I still get pimples here and there.
I am just starting to incorporate Apple Cider Vinegar as well because I've read some great things about that. I am taking a tablespoon in the morning (delicious! j/k) and I'm putting some on my face directly at night before my BP.
I am debating whether or not to go the Tazorac route. I have some, and have read great reviews, but when I first started using it, it just made me so peely and everything got worse, so I'm nervous to go full on with it.
I am praying I can get most of my acne to go away by mid-December because my dad and his girlfriend will be staying with us and it will be so humiliating for them to see how bad my skin is (it was never this bad before this year). Thank God for my sweet husband.
This will be tough but I am gonna try something, even if it doesn't completely clear my acne, by skin should look alot better as I will be eating ALOT more healthly.
Basically I am gonna try and cut out some of the dairy products that I use and carbohydrates.
I will aim to eat at least 2-3 apples a day (I usually have 1 a week normally!!) along with this any other fruit when I am hungry I will eat.
On some mornings i will try to cut out cereal and eat yoghurt instead.
Each night when I have a shower I will rub baking soda on my face and leave for a few mins before rinsing off and then putting cold water on face to close pores.
Just before I go to bed I will put a concentration of vinegar and water on my face and rinse off after 30 mins. (I have no apple cider vinegar!)
oh yeah, I am also cutting out on ALL sweets for a month to cut my sugar levels, this will be one of the hardest things.
I'll try and write on this as much as possible and stick to it for at least a month as I always give up after a few days.
Well, I've been having a bit of a set back recently. I stopped the minocycline last month b/c I realized I was definitely allergic to it after taking it for a full 30-31 days. My skin was wonderful on it-- completely clear even through my period (except for the annoying abx rash on my neck!). So I stopped the abx and everything was fine until my cycle this month. I got the three normal premenstrual bumps along my lower face/jaw. They cleared-- then I got two on my forehead. They cleared--then I got three more on my cheeks and these most recent one's are giving me fits. They were so red and inflamed, they're actually clearing a bit now. I really thought things were under control. Another thing that set me back was that I ran out of BP a few days before payday and so had to wait a few more days after that to get it and get started back on it again. I really don't think being off the BP was the main cause though. I had had my period and was breaking out before I ran out of BP. It may have made it worse this last week though with these three last ones. I really think it was b/c I stopped the abx and when the hormonal shift came again it didn't have the abx to suppress the inflammation. I can't live on an abx forever anyway. It's just not practical. I'm back on the regimen now and contemplating what my next move is going to be. I want to try getting back on Spiro again but I may try Saw Palmetto first, I think it has a similar action. It'll be easier to access although I think generic Spiro may end up being cheaper. It's just finding the time in my schedule to make a trip back to the doc. I even was reading up on the BCP tonight but I don't know if that's my best option. I had terrible migraines and I don't want them creeping up again. Also I'm not sure what age at which it's not a good idea to be on the pill anymore. I think I may be rapidly approaching that point. I'm sure decades of synthetic hormones can't be good for you. My posts are sounding rather repetitive so I'll stop now. If anyone out there is reading this and has any words of wisdom please pass them on.
I just started my 2nd course. I finished my last course March '07. About a year later I started getting the odd pimple here and there and a few small cysts on my scalp. The decision to go back on Accutane came 2 months ago when I got a small cyst on my face. Cysts have always left dark scars or pits on my face so I decided to try a low dose course again. I am hoping to avoid the miserable side effects I had last course. You can read my log last log if you want.
The dumbass nurse at my derm's office was supposed to call in 20mg pills but she called in 40mg pills. So I am taking one every other day for 2 weeks and will up it to every day if I don't have side effects. I'll lower it back if I start getting side effects.
I think I'll be on this low dose for 3-4 months. I won't hit the minimum cumulative dosage for my weight, but I'm not sure I need to this round. Right now, I'm pretty clear. I just want to knock out any future cysts so I avoid the pain and scarring.
Long live the tane
I absolutely love acne.org products. I am now a senior in college, and I have had acne since I was a freshman in high school. I have gone through the embarrassment of asking my parents to go to a dermatologist (twice), and I have tons of money on acne products. I have bought tons of cleaners, creams, and moisturizers.
These products are the only thing that work. I don't have any acne at all now. I am totally clear, and 1000x more confident. I can't believe that this stuff can do what it does because it seems very simple. For the amount you get, it is also very cheap. My brothers starting using it first, so, over the summer, I secretly starting taking some of theirs. My acne seemed to get worst before it got better, but then it got really good. I see people now that I use to think had the ultimate complexion, and mine now blows them out of the water.
My regimen is simple. I use the acne.org cleanser, treatment (benzol cream), and moisturizer. I will wash with the cleanser for 10 seconds, dry, apply a good amount of the treatment, let it dry, and put on some moisturizer. I also purchased the AHA cream. I put that on at night after I let the treatment dry. I don't use any moisturizer at night, only during the day. I also use the AHA if I get a pimple. It works really fast, and stops that pimple in its tracks. Lastly, if I ever do feel a pimple coming on, happens once in a great while, I will use ice on it a couple times a day. I grab an ice cube, hold it on the pimple (its sucks buts it's worth it) for about five minutes or so, and it will not let the pimple get bigger. I slap some AHA on it and I am good to go. By the next day, that pimple is almost gone.
Acne. org is truly a miracle product. I can't thank Dan enough for creating it. I only wish I would have discovered it sooner so I didn't have to live with acne for as long. Lastly, my girlfriend also struggled with acne. She noticed my clear skin, and I told her about acne.org. She is now as clear as a mirror. This product is amazing.
Just picked up Acne.org 16oz BP treatment today from the post office. Here's what I think so far pre-using the product.
Transaction:
Smooth, speedy and easy, really like how there are options to choose from for postal services.
Shipping:
Again, impressed with the choices. I ordered it 5 days ago, the time line for shipping is 4 to 6 days and I got it in 5 days with a weekend in between! Tracking the item through online web site also save me time driving to the post office daily.
The treatment bottle (BP) is in shrink wrap, I thought Dan don't shrink wrap them anymore??? This probably was the first time ever I couldn't wait to get home and put white liquid all over my face lol. I'm going to take a photo before applying BP then keep track of my progress and let you know. I've got moderate acne with occasional bad breakouts. Which has been quite under control (no further breakout) since I started using Clean & Clear moisturizer for the past 2 weeks. Too bad the product was discontinued.
Current regimen products are.
Wash: Dermalogica special cleansing gel and Cetaphil gentle cream cleanser depends how hot or cool the day is.
Treatment: Dan's BP, haven't started yet will be using it tonight.
Moisturizer: Clean & Clear oil-free active clear, one of the only two moisturizer that won't make me have breakout. And I breakout because of moisturizer, not because I don't apply moisturizer. The other one would be Dermalogica oil control lotion but the price is ridiculous it's not funny.
Do I apply BP to the whole face and neck area under my chin? Anyway more updates later.
So I've decided to try Dan's regimen after reading the whole process. I bought the Acne.org products last night and they should be here in a couple days. However, since I've been through so many acne products that didn't work I already had what I needed to go ahead and start the regimen last night. I used a gentle cleanser called "Purity", I had quite a lot of 2.5%BP from Proactiv still laying around, and Olay Regenerist (SP?) for the moisturizer. After typing all of that, maybe combining all those different brands is going to f*ck me pretty bad until I get the products I ordered from this website.
5/11/08: Woke up with very slightly clearer skin. After reading the topics on here about the Fish Oil (my skin is so oily, my whole face is already shining so bad after cleansing 15 minutes ago) I've decided to go out and buy some, along with some Zinc supplements as well, and possibly even some ACV if I can find it. I'll post some pictures when my sister gets home with her camera.
