My regime is below in my signature. I've been using it for 1 week and 5 days now. I'm seeing good results in terms of clogged pores, but I am breaking out near my jawline. Am I purging or should I be worried? I hate it right now! Can't even enjoy the sun outside.

I'm suspecting clindasol and differin. Any thoughts?

Hi my name's Marti, I'm 26 and I live in Victoria, Australia. Boring part as follows:
My first pimple erupted with a vengeance at the tender age of 9 - it wasnt large by any means, but my mum bought me aapri apricot scrub to try and combat it. If you ever used that stuff (circa 1991) - it was like getting the roughest sandpaper and trying to remove your face with it.
Since then, I have had an ongoing battle with "accers" - almost 18 years. I've been on differin, minomycin, diane (contraceptive), benzac washes, otc washes, creams, spot treatments - anything that promised something, I bought. I've tried proactiv - but luckily I only used it for a month or two (gift from a friend) before it could have any lasting effects.
I've had glycolic peels, been poked and prodded, lanced and squeezed.
I can't do roaccutane because of some problem with my lipids/triglycerides/cholesterol - diane actually took my cholesterol to 12-13 (meant to be between 5-6) and triglycerides to about 80 (meant to be 2-3 or something similar) - and my doctor still thinks Im a medical marvel, I had nurses staring at me at the dermo because they had never seen a LIVING person with those kind of levels... but I digress.
I ordered DKR on 7 Feb 09 and I'm anxiously waiting its arrival. I've gotten to a point where I'm sick of feeling like I have concentrated sunburns on my face, sick of wasting money on things that just.dont.work. and so tired of crying in the mirror when I wash my makeup off. My partner suffered SEVERE acne in his teens and early to late 20's, but its hard to listen to him when he says "It'll clear up on its own, or it may never, you'll just have to wait and see". I dont WANT to wait, I want it to be gone. I'm sick of it ruling my life, sick of not being able to go get the papers on a sunday morning without making up my face...
My doctor has also put me back on minomycin - 2x50g a day, so maybe that will help work on the inside while I focus on the outside...
When I get DKR, I'll post some pre-DKR photos up before my first use and update weekly - to do it daily would be like watching paint dry. I know it wont happen straight away - lord knows I've waited long enough. Maybe no-one will read my log, maybe they will - and if they do I hope that if this stuff works, it convinces them to STOP buying otc stuff...
Anywho! I'll update when my goodies arrive!
Thanks for reading... whoever you are!

Day One
Well, I just finished doing the Regimen for the first time! Haha, I had a little problem with the Benzoyl Peroxide dispenser. I kept pumping it, but nothing was coming out. But yeah, I figured that out. It's brand new so yeah, you have to pump it a few times. Other than that, everything went fine! I'm so excited =) But I'm also freaking out about the fact that soon, I'll start purging. Knowing my luck it'll take like 3 months for it to be done. Ah well, I"ll handle it and will not stop!
I've been toying with the idea of posting pictures, but I've decided against it. I just spent like twenty minutes trying to take a picture of myself that didn't look butt ugly, but at the same time showed what kind of acne I had. I couldn't =p. I took some sectional pictures, (each cheek, and forehead) and they're okayish. I might put those up instead. But not now, as I need to get my morning started!
Quick question- when you guys first started the regimen, using the half a pump of BP, did it take you as long to apply all of it your face as it does Dan in the video? I did it relatively quickly, which makes me think that maybe I'm not taking enough time? I did it gently, and until it looked like everything had been spread in and all. So yeah, most likely the reason is I used a half pump and Dan is using two full pump. Just a question though!
Hope everyone is having a great day. =D

Hi everyone. I just recently found this site and started the regimen after using Proactiv for about a year to no avail. So far, I'm not using the actual products on this site - just the ones recommended:
Basic Sensitive Skin Face Bar
Neutrogena On The Spot
Olay Complete Sensitive Skin with SPF
I have also been using ACV for treating red marks, but I just read that you should clear up all active acne first, so as of my next wash, it'll just be the regimen.
I started on the night of May 29, 2009 and I have seen some improvement, followed by some letdowns - that second week thing some people seem to have, I think. My fiance said the other day that he thought it looked better and it's always nice for someone else to say it. I've been trying not to get my hopes up, but at the same time, I'm really hoping that this works. I was probably in 6th grade when I started getting acne and I've tried pretty much everything in the store since then (I'm 23 now). I'm pretty sure I took some sort of pill for it when I was younger, but it didn't help and I don't know what it was. What I am really hoping is that something will work and that I will feel better about myself. I can't help but think that I would be a lot happier in general if I didn't feel so ashamed of my face all the time.
I do often pick at my skin. It's hard to keep from it sometimes. I am trying to stop touching my face at all unless I'm washing it, but it's all about reminding myself not to touch it.
I've been doing the regimen as it says to do it so far. It does seem that some of the spots I've had went away a lot faster than they normally would have. I guess I would say that I have all of the types of acne considered mild to moderate, but I rarely have whiteheads. Mostly, it's the more painful types which surely just get worse because I can't leave them alone. I've gotta stop even looking in my little mirror!
I don't normally wear makeup anymore, either. If I'm going somewhere nice, I might wear eyeliner, but that's about it. Hopefully, I can post some pics which show progress soon!
Thanks to anyone who took the time to read!

Last week I went back onto Dan's Regimen. I originally was on it back in March of 2006 and stayed with it until May 2009. I quit because I started getting small pimples on my cheeks which would leave dark indented marks behind. I decided to try other methods of clearing my skin which was my biggest mistake. My face is now a mess of painful, nasty zits. I look at the marks on my cheeks and think what a fool I was for quitting Dan's Regimen because they are minor in comparison to what I have now.
----
Here's my stats:
29 years old, female.
Dealing with acne prone skin since age 13.
Moderate acne with occasional cyst
----
Last week (June 11) I got back on the regimen. I have so many painful zits that I put extra BP just on the blemishes themselves but my skin dried out. So now, I'm just sucking it up and only using the half pump application without the extra spot treat.
I just can't believe how bad my face has gotten. I hate looking in the mirror and I just want to cry. I know my friends and family love me regardless but I feel as though I can't even look them in the eye. I hate this. I hope this clears up and fast.

(Feel free to skip the boring parts. Just want this for anyone who may be in my position and needs the support.)
History:
I'm 26 now, and like everyone, I've struggled with moderate acne since early teenage years. It was always a problem through high school, but nothing ever really helped, at least not topicals. My freshman year of college, I went on ortho tri-cyclen, which helped a bit. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay on it because of health insurance reasons.
I wanted to try ProActiv for the longest time, but didn't order it until 2006. I was never fully committed and dedicated to it, so it didn't help much. I switched to mineral makeup in the fall of 07, which helped some. Then in January of 08, I moved into a new apartment at a new school and decided it was time to be more responsible with my skin. I started using ProActiv as recommended, and I definitely saw improvements. Even after I switched back to regular liquid foundation ($$ reasons, I LOVED mineral!) my skin was still pretty clear. Last spring was one of the first times I've ever had that my skin didn't really effect my self-esteem very much. I ran out of ProActiv last May and didn't re-order, thinking I could get some over the counter stuff that worked ok. I'd been using Aveno clear complexion moisturizer for awhile, and I loved it, so I got the face wash. It didn't work quite as well, but was still doing ok for a few months.
Then something happened this fall semester. I don't know what it was - traveling more than usual, stress from school, the political season (I was highly active and it got super stressful) - but my acne got bad. Then in October, my grandpa died and my stress levels went through the roof. My face got so bad that my dad actually commented on it during one family dinner, something he never does because he knows that I'm sensitive. I told him I hadn't changed my daily life, but it was something out of my control.
I get really bad hormonal acne during ovulation. I get cysts and pustules and they HURT. They weren't going away between cycles and I was starting to get really miserable. I was dreading Thanksgiving and Christmas, because that means pictures everywhere. Finals and my birthday were the same week and everything was just going wrong. And my face reflected that. Make-up wasn't even concealing what I had.
On the Regimen:
So in December, I found this site and decided I wanted to try the Acne.org regimen, but had to wait to order until I got the money. I ordered in early January and started January 14th. These pictures are from that night, and are in a relatively mild acne cycle, a couple new lesions, but nothing out of control.
Thus far, I've not seen much of a difference. In fact, because of my cycle, I've broken out a bit more than these pictures, but I expected that. Because of the ProActive, my face isn't terribly sensitive to the BP. I've not had the redness that many people report.
This is what I'm doing:
Morning -
Dan's Cleanser - 15 seconds
Dan's BP - 1/2 pump
Dan's moisturizer - full pump
Night -
Same
I use more moisturizer because I live in Colorado and its so dry and windy here. And cold. I need to find a good moisturizer with sunscreen, again because its Colorado and I walk to class, so I'm outside quite a bit. I just noticed flakiness today around my nose and the corners of my mouth. It's not major, so I'm not worrying about it. They don't show after moisturizing.
Last night was the first time I've had stinging, because I got too close to the corners of my eyes. It went away after putting a cool wet cloth on them for about 5 minutes. Today my upper lip is stinging a bit, which is weird. I'll lay off the BP in that area, because I don't tend to break out there anyway.
I'll post pictures tomorrow of my 1 week progress. There's not much difference, but I figure weekly updates will be good.
Thanks for reading!

I'll make this my official Day 1, but I've actually been using this modified regimen on-and-off for quite some time. I'll begin to track my progress starting now.
Recently I went to a new derm and she gave me new medicine (erythromycin solution), but after 3 days new bumps appeared on my skin. I think it's because I'm already immune to erythromycin (I've used this before). I learned my lesson and I'm really never going back to a dermatologist again. I've been to at least 4 different ones and they just give me new medicine and although the meds from one derma worked for some time, they stopped working after a few months.
I know my skin best so I'll be my own doctor from now on.
My current regimen:
AM:
Dove Extra Sensitive soap
Eskinol Papaya toner
Celeteque water-based moisturizer
VMV Armada SPF30 (When I finish this tube I'll buy one with higher SPF, but the VMV Armada brand is good for me)
In2It powder foundation with SPF
PM:
Cetaphil (used as make-up remover)
Dove Extra Sensitive soap
Eskinol Papaya toner
PanOxyl 2.5% benzoyl peroxide
This regimen has given me significant improvement for my acne, but I think I want to add something that will brighten my skin tone, fade spots and make my pores smaller. I'm thinking of trying Maxi-Peel sometime, but definitely not while there's school. Maybe I'll try it in the summer.
As of now maybe I'll use some kind of whitening cream.
Products I'm considering:
Maxi-Peel soap (for face and body)
Maxi-Peel body lotion
Maxi-Peel New Generation Exfoliant (Have already sent an e-mail to Splash to inquire if this contains hydroquinone and what to expect if I use this -- just waiting for the reply)
Kojiesan soap
Kojiesan face cream
Kojiesan body lotion

i am 33 years old and have moderate acne. it gets worse when i am stressed since i'm a picker. i finally got sick of it and was going to try proactiv. during my google search, i came across this site, and i started the regimen.
after 2 days, pretty much my acne was all gone (except for one i had picked waaaay horribly). and it hasn't really come back!
when i started, i started too intensely. i didn't work my way up to 1 pump; i started w/ 1.5. well, now i'm back down to 1 since i turned beet red and flaked all over the place and it burned like crazy.
the problem is, when i put on too little, i still break out some (though i can't complain too much--it's been a week and a half and i am nowhere near how i was when i threw my hands up and decided to purchase something). i have almost no more blackheads, and no more red pimples, and only a couple coming in here and there. hopefully as i work my way up to 2 pumps, i will be using enough that i won't break out anymore.
when i use too much, i flake and burn and turn red. when i use too little, i get some pimples. so i'm searching for the right balance. i figure it will take me a few more weeks until my skin is used to the BP and then hopefully i won't break out so much.
i'm tempted to buy the jojoba oil and the AHA, but i'm trying to be patient and just get used to the bare bones of the regimen.
right now, what i'm doing is sort of rotation areas where i put the BP. when one area starts to flake, i don't put any there for a couple of days, until i see that i'm starting to break out in that area. so around my mouth flaked, so i left it alone and concentrated on jawline. now jawline is beginning to flake, and around my mouth looks like it's about to break out, so i switched.
i'm still getting the hang of this. i'll keep updating! in the meantime, it is an absolute pleasure to have the clearest complexion i have had in years. i haven't needed to wear foundation since i started (lol except the day i was beet red and needed to lighten my face!).

Hi everybody.
End of April '09, I started to have few pimples pop up on my right face. At first, I thought it was normal to have pimples, which I had to have after some time when I was lacked of sleep/rest.
However, the nightmare started after 1+ week, I started realize that it is getting worse. At that time, I was thinking what was the cause. A few days before I got more pimples on the right faces, I had a Thai Food with some of my colleagues. I was thinking probably because of the too spicy food which had caused my face popped up more pimples than usual.
At that time, I was also thinking the facial cleansing products that I was using ain't suit to me, perhaps due to sensitive issue. Or, because of the Facial Mask that I had used once (the 1st and only once in my whole life) ? There are so many possibilities that have caused my pimples getting worse, from day to day.
I was recommended by someone (local forum) to give a try on Garnier Pure Anti-Imperfection with Salicylic Acid + Zinc Scrub Wash and also Simple Kind To Fash Moisturizing Facial Wash. I gave a try on that 2 products. Initially, I had some breakouts on my right face, then a bit on the left face follow by chin area. After about 2 weeks of using, my forehead started to breakout as well. It become more and more on my forehead, while my left, right face or chin area are getting less, but still breakouts.
I'm not sure if Salicylic Acid treatment is the right one, but after about 2 weeks of using, I found out that my forehead area is getting worse. I was so hesitating, either to give up using Salicylic Acid treatment and jumps into Acne.org Regimen, as I know all these acne treatments required some time in order to see a better results.
Finally, I made up my mind and purchased over-the-counter products to start doing my Acne.org Regimen, starting today. At the beginning stage, these are the products I managed to get it at my area.
1. Neutrogena Pure Mild Liquid Facial Cleanser 150ml
2. PanOxyl 2.5 AcneGel 40gm
3. Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer (Combination Skin) 118ml
I hope to see a slightly better results after some time of using these products, by practicing Acne.org Regimen.
Cheers.

Alright, so tonight was the first night that I started the Acne.org regimen. I actually just got my products in the mail today so I thought I would get a head start by doing a night time routine. I'm trying to be a stickler with myself about really sticking to the plan, because I know without specifically following the guidelines, that it simply won't work.
I watched a few videos on Dan's blog just to make sure that I would get the technique. I then went to wash my face, which I hope I did correctly. I applied the BP although I think I messed up here because I sort of spread it out and left it, instead of working it into the skin. Now that I've put on the moisturizer my skin feels sticky (probably the caked on bp doing this).
Oh well, the morning is another opportunity to practice doing the regimen correctly..
Also how do I attach pics? Progress Pics in My Gallery

I am on week one and I can't wait to get past week two because I am hoping for further improvement and less irrated skin. This is my last day of week one and my skin is still erupting with 2 or 3 zits every day and it is very dry and flaky. I think the redness has gone down just a tad, its not bright red now but rather a dull red. Still not too attractive but at least it appears my skin is adjusting slightly! I also have noticed that the zits I am getting tend to dry out much quicker and come to head within a day rather then being under the skin for 2 or 3 days.
Overall my skin is gross and it is hard to continue with my normal routine of school and work because it is so hard to face people. One side of my face is a lot worse then the other so I find myself trying to look to the side when talking to people or sitting with my "good side" facing people. Pathetic!! I blame my acne problem on having to switch to a progesterone only birth control because of migraines that I had awhile ago that caused auras. Before this I was on YAZ and although I haven't had migraines since switching to YAZ over a year ago, the doc still thought it best to put me on Camila. I am not so sure because now I have acne, anxiety and depression problems and if things don't get better I will probably have to get on some type of depression/anxiety med. I think I might be better off going back on YAZ but I don't think my doc agrees.
I will continue the regimen and see what happens. I have high hopes that this will work so I continue and fight the embarrassment of my skin condition and see what results I get. Right now i am using Purpose gentle face wash, neutragena on the spot 2.5 BP and Olay sensitive skin moisturizer. I also tried adding jojoba oil to my moisturizer yesterday and it seemed to help my skin from being too flaky so I will continue to use a drop of that during the day time.

Yeah, I think. But I changed it now, I think. Haha.
Well, here's the update.. MY FACE LOOKS AWESOME!
My whiteheads on my cheek which never dissapeared from Differin are almost completely gone! REALLY! And all my other zits are like, little and they dissapear within a day. Dan has really done it this time!

The only thing I hate is the dryness, I ordered some jojoba oil from Dan and it should be in soon, so hopefully that will help.
I'll keep updatttinnngg!

(Day 6 - Monday June 22, 2009)
Hello everyone,
Here's my log with a little background info.
2001: First developed acne. I remember this because my friend pointed it out lol.
2002 - 2006: My problem areas are my cheeks and t-zone. Regrettably I popped most of my pimples. Luckily I got away with only having some scarring on my right cheek and right side of my nose.
2007 (Dec): Discovered the regimen and bought Dan's BP. I wasn't doing it properly but still had decent results with it
2008 (Sept): Started washing my face with water only once a day, using half a pump of BP and moisturizing with L'Oreal Futur-e. All the acne on my cheek cleared up and the red marks are unnoticeable on my left side but are visible on my right side up close. The only problem areas are between my eyebrows, nose crease, chin, and above my lip.
2009 (June): A few weeks ago I started washing my face twice a day with water only, and stopped using BP and moisturizing. I think it was because I was reading about 'natural acne cures' and got caught up in all the hoopla. It went fine for 2 weeks until I started to breakout all around my mouth. Which brings us to...
Now: I'm following the regimen closely. I wash twice a day with SpectroDerm, which is the only cleanser I have ever used in my life that doesn't make my skin feel tight and dry. I use 1 pump of BP twice a day and moisturize twice a day with L'Oreal Futur-e. I've been doing this since last Wednesday (June 17). So far the pimples around my mouth have cleared up. Only two remain on my chin and one just came up at the bottom of my right nostril. My face also doesn't feel oily anymore. I don't plan on adding any other products (probably Dan's AHA which I use for my arms for KP) to the regimen until I can go two weeks without getting a single new pimple. Hopefully these pimples from the past few weeks will be gone in two weeks cause I've got a presentation.
So here's the beginning of my log, I guess this would be (Day 6) since I started the regimen properly last Wednesday lol. Hopefully I'll update it every two weeks or so to make sure I stay on track with the regimen. Also I bought Complex-15 because everybody seems to love that moisturizer. So I'm going to be switching that with my L'Oreal one once it comes in the mail.

My shipment of Acne.org medication came in today, and I couldn't resist starting it tonight. I have either mild/moderate acne and I'm hoping after some time the DKR will clear this all up. I've also cleared up my diet and other acne-forming habits I had. I'll keep a log on my progress with the DKR
Cleanser: It is 100,000,000,000x better then the Proactiv cleanser. I loved it!
Benzoyl Peroxide: Once again better then the Proactiv solution, I followed the video exactly and it took me forever to apply it. I think I squirted out too much at first, so I applied a little to my face at a time and put some back into the container.
Moisturizer: Also took a long time to put on, but it feels great! Believe it or not, I've never moisturized before.

Hey guys!
So, I'm on day 3 of the clear skin regimen. Now, I never had acne before, only some small bumps here and there although at one point when I was 13 my forehead was basically covered in what I assume were papules, which did not last long because when I went on vacation to Arizona, for some reason my skin virtually cleared up, and since then I never had a problem with my skin (I'm now almost 19). It wasn't until about a year ago, right before I left for my freshman year of college that my skin started to break out. It wasn't bad, just in a new spot - I've never had acne on my chin before. At first, the break out looked like eczema, which I have dealt with all my love and have gotten on my face before. So I tried treating it the way I've done before, and it started to go away - at least the irritation did. but then, when it started to clear up in about October, it got worse again after Thanksgiving break. Finally, over winter break, my skin was so bad, and I was so upset, that I turned to Proactiv which accomplished nothing (I used it up until about a week ago). I turned to acne.org for the clear skin regimen.
Now, it's been 2 days of religiously following the regimen and my skin is no longer irritated, half the papules on my forehead are gone or significantly smaller, and my chin is clearing rapidly. Here's what I did - I followed the regimen steps (cleanser, benzoyl peroxide, moisturizer) but tried something slightly different. Instead of getting the products from acne.org, I am using Aveeno Active Naturals foaming gentle cleanser, and positively radiant skin moisturizer from the same brand, as well as Neutrogena 'On-the-Spot' in between for the peroxide. The reason I used these products is because (aside from the website listing on-the-spot as a product to use) I have used both the cleanser and the moisturizer before, a few years back when my skin reacted badly to some theater makeup and my skin broke out in eczema. When that happened, nothing I did worked, and my face felt like it was burning for about two weeks until I used the Active Naturals wash and moisturizer, and the irritation went away almost instantly.
I use all three of these products twice daily, in this order - cleanser, peroxide, moisturizer.
After two days of use, I'm hoping since my face feels 100 times better and looks much calmer as well, that this will work - because nothing else has, and this is working without burning my face.
So to those of you in the same position as I am, mild to moderate acne with very sensitive skin, if nothing has worked for you as of yet, maybe this might! I'm certainly seeing results and the cleanser/moisturizer has calmed my skin before.
Wishing everyone luck!
-Brittney

Hello, I'm Matt just like 90% of the world I have struggled with acne from about 12 years old.
19 now and I have tried more and more products but nothing as worked. Stumbled onto this site a little over a week ago, watched some videos, success stories, and product prices. Hesitant to buy I did buy Dan's starter kit. Should come in the mail with in a couple more days.
I'm planning to follow the regimen to a "T" but we are not all perfect.
I have a couple of questions if someone could clear things up for me(irony if someone gets that)
1. What type of acne do I have? (pictures will be included)
2. I sweat a lot at work I feel/see the oil, is there anything at work I can do?
3. Is there a secret to not pick at these damned things?
I'll update with a 3 to 4 day post with a weekly picture update.
Sorry ladies, I am taken.

When i use the BP. The next day my face is dark. And when i wash my face, dark stuff peels off. This doesn't happen when i use a lot of moisturizer. But when i use a lot of moisturizer, my face looks really greasy. I cant go out in public looking shiny. I think my face is naturally dry and the BP DRIES OFF TOO MUCH!. This is my theory. Do any of u guys have the same problem? By the way,the regimen is working great! But I'm only applying the regimen at night, when i go to sleep.

For the same reason.

The DKR has gotten me clear, and I am so thankful for it. Really, I should say that I am ecstatically and enthusiastically thankful for it. And now that I'm in my thirties and am getting older, I'm wanting to start thinking about improving the other aspects of my skin. I use sunscreen every day to avoid premature aging, but skin ages anyway, and I want to do what I can to keep my skin looking as young as I can.
I know that retinols have good anti-aging properties, but they typically are de-activated (simplistically speaking) with BP. I definitely don't want to stop with BP and have my acne come back so I did some research. I found out that Diacneal isn't de-activated by BP. Diacneal is a retinol-based anti-acne product that also has the nice side-effect of smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles and improving skin texture, like retinols do.
I had used Diacneal on its own before, but it wasn't enough to keep my acne at bay. The DKR is definitely what works for me with my acne. So now I'm embarking on an experiment, modifying this one part of the regimen to see if I can keep the amazing benefits of the DKR while adding another benefit. We'll see. My new regimen is the DKR + Diacneal. I still cleanse with the DKR cleanser. I still put a few drops of jojoba on my freshly cleansed skin. I still apply the DKR BP twice a day in the same amount. But with the BP at night, I add a thin finger of Diacneal. Then I moisturize with Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer. I used to use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion at night, but I figured that it would probably be too irritating to use with the Diacneal.
I am not recommending that anyone follow this regimen, but I thought that some others in my boat (in their thirties, and onward, and still battling acne) might be interested in the thread. I'll let you know how this works for me.

hello everyone, as i have mentioned before i have what i think of as really bad acne. I try not to let it get to me and be my happy self but everyday i look in the mirror i just cry. I sit and wonder sometimes what my 2 year old son thinks of my face, because sometimes when i have pimple he points at it and say "mommy have boo boo"

as far as my daily regime I use Ambi facial products. even though the products say no oil my face still feels oily.
am regime
wash with daily ambi cleanser
apply thin layer of ambi anti spot cream
apply ambi facial lotion with sunscreen
pm regime
wash with daily ambi cleanser
apply thin layer of ambi anti spot cream
Last week (monday) i even stop using the cleanser and just washed my face in the morning and night with warm water, but by saturday my face felt so oily i washed with ambi exfoliating wash. i have tried every product in the store, i have stopped pro-active and started it again plenty of times, I been to the same derm on 2 different occasions, i have tried vitamins, i have even tried squeezing a fresh lemon and applying the juice to my face. I have read so many post about Accutane but with all the side effects and having a 2 year old son i don't think it would be good for me. i don't wear makeup everyday (only when i go out) because i think it will make my acne worse. i mean i just dont know what to do anymore

BY THE WAY I'M 24, IT'S TERRIBLE!!!!

Hi All!
I'm 43 years old and have battled acne since having my first child... who is going to be 26 this year. I have cystic acne. I tried everything over the years and I mean everything... nothing worked... acutane, birth control, all the topical treatments, antibiotics ... you name it I tried it... I stumbled across acne.org after using MaMa lotion and Nucelle for the past year and a half... which helped but never cleared it up. I decided to give the regiman a try... why not ??? I tried everything else... I started on Sunday May 24, 2009 with Cetaphil cleanser for normal/oily skin, neutrogena on the spot treatment, jojoba oil and Cetaphil daily moisturizer SPF 15. The same day I ordered Dan's BP.
The first week- the texture on my face seemed smoother and less oily, not really that dry but less oily. I was hopeful... May 27th I received Dan's BP in the mail so I was able to start using it that evening. during the first week, I was only using about 1/2 pump of the BP..
The second week - I had a breakout, which seemed pretty persistent and I started doubting the regimen, but realized I hadn't increased my BP. I ramped up the BP to 1 1/2 pumps and my face started to clear. Then I made the mistake of not using my moisturizer a couple nights.. and wow! my face looked HORRIBLE... once again doubting the regimen, but decided to stick with it... then I read online about the use of AHA and ordered Dan's AHA+ and started incorporating that into my regimen. WOW !!! What a difference once I was using the moisturizer and the AHA+... my face really started to smooth out and look so different! Still had the lingering of last weeks breakout.. but it was clearing nicely.
Week 3- I started using 2 full pumps of BP.. Everyday my skin seems to clear a bit more.... this week I've had a couple pimples come to the surface but they heal very quickly.
I did a bit of research online and found that if you use the AHA right after you wash your face and while it's still wet, it goes in deeper into the skin - so thats what I do with the AHA+. IT'S AMAZING!
I'm coming to the end of week 3 and very excited for more time to pass to see what kind of a difference is to come!
This is my regimen:
Morning:
Wash my face in the shower with Cetaphil Face Wash
Immediately after getting out of shower- dispense AHA+ into palm of hand and apply all over face and neck.
let face dry for 15 min - apply 2 full pumps of BP
let face dry for 15 min - apply 3 pumps of Cetaphil moisturizer mixed with 6 or 7 drops of jojoba oil.
let face absorb moisturizer for 15 min. - then use paper towel to gently blot excess before applying my makeup ( ALMAY COLOR SHADES)
Evening:
Repeat morning regimen but instead of mixing moisturizer with jojoba oil, I just use jojoba oil, more of it, and I don't blot it.

So it's been 1 week since I began the regimen! I have to say that I am very impressed.
I have what I would classify as pretty mild acne. I usually get it mostly on my forehead and around my chin. About 2 weeks ago I broke out worse than ever around my chin and finally decided to start taking some serious steps toward getting rid of this problem. I had used Proactiv before, although I will admit I wasn't as dedicated as I should have been, so I wanted to try something new. I came across this website and read a lot of personal stories in the forums and watched a lot of Dan's videos and decided to give it a try.
Like I said I've been using it for about a week, following the regimen very closely. The BP hasn't actually given me any adverse side effects, I'm thinking it has something to do with using the Proactiv Cleanser for so long (which also is 2.5% BP). I haven't experienced the redness, dryness, or itching that I read about all the time on here.
This whole process has been pretty spectacular, each day I have noticed it get progressively better and better and for the past 2-3 days I have actually woken up with no new blemishes on my face.
I hope to update this regularly! I can't wait to see the results in a few months!

So I started the Acne.Org regimen today. I did one pump of all three (Cleanser, Bp, & Moisturizer) & I also added about 4 drops of Jojoba oil into my moisturizer. My face is RED!!!! I was freaking out!

However, I do have hope that this will finally get rid of 7 yrs of bad, nasty, disgusting acne! I started breaking out when I was about 12 years old and I am now 19. Nothing has worked & I've tried every damn over the counter product. So I'm hoping & praying this will lead to a life long happiness of clear skin.

]
Here's sum pix of how I looked earlier, before I started. My worst area is under my chin leading down to my neck. My forehead & cheeks aren't as bad. I also break out the most right before I start my period (which boys r sooo lucky to not suffer from!)

]
Wish me luck!!!
