A little about me....
I'm a 26 year old mother of three boys. My acne has always been hormonal. I break out twice during my cycle, with about a week of clearing before it starts all over again. It was tolerable until I started getting AF again a few months ago. I may try Aleve once the baby is weaned; I occasionally take some ibuprofen when I feel a big one coming

I guess I would say it's mild/moderate, but looks worse because of red marks. Prevent breakouts = prevent red marks = pretty skin!
So I ordered Dan's b.p. (been wanting to for 2 years!) and started the regimen last night. It takes a little more than 1/4 finger to cover my entire face because I break out all over, into my hairline, jawline, around my nose, etc. I never know where they will be. Like now there is one healing between my eyebrows, yuck, the cyclops zit

. Fortunately, I am at the end of my second breakout this cycle so I shouldn't get too many more while my skin adjusts. I love the consistency of the b.p...no smell, no streaks, great! I used Neutrogena O.T.S. in the past and it is horrible compared to this stuff.
I am not completely satisfied with the cleanser/moisturizer I'm using right now but at the same time don't want to switch products too often. I've done some research and have a few in mind from the past to consider so I will probably go shopping soon. Don't know how often I will update, but it helps to have a place to write it all down. Thanks Acne.org!

Hi there,
Well, I've been on the regimen for near enough two weeks. I'm from the UK, I'm male and I'm 15. I'm going to try and post here as much as possible, whether as just a break from being a sole battle with acne, or just to collect my thoughts, I'll post here.
And I'm starting my log on a pretty ***tty day. I am using 5% aquagel in the morning and at night, so my face is literally the driest in the school. And, people notice. Friends notice and, well, let's leave it at that.
People think they are the experts just because they don't have anything wrong with their skin. Really, they're just ignorant.. they're also incredibly lucky. The self-confidence damage acne can provoke isn't clear to them. And it only seems to be my friends who say anything!
Anyway, because of this, I am laying off of the aquagel for one day, just to give my face a break. I'm getting this Neutrogena stuff tommorow - Cleanser, BP 2,5%, Moisturiser - everything. I've been on the regimen for two weeks so I'm up to full amount. And it's going to work. It will work.
I would class my acne as moderate so, I read some of the stories on here and I think I am lucky. God Bless You. Your all amazing people and never let acne get you down! It's what's inside you that counts, and that's what people really care about.
So, although it's near enough Day 14, I'll call it Day #1. Thanks for reading and see you around!

My title lied to you, i already started this morning.
Day 1-
Applied like half a pea size of BP in moisturizer, want to start out small in case of disasters etc... No sunscreen yet so i'm off for that now. Thinking this log is probably going to be exceptionally boring for the first couple of weeks at least. Can't wait!

-----
My also pretty darn boring regimen....
-Cetaphil Cleanser
_2.5% BP, Panoxyl
-Nutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer
-Probably a little Jojoba.
-Drinking Lemon Juice (Evening)
-Drinking Water, 10 glasses a day.
-2 Dairy things a day max.
-Zinc,Omega,multivitamin and vitamin D3

Okay, well here we go. Once again, looking for a solution to persistent and annoying pimples and blackheads. Day 1: August 30th, 2005
A little about me: I am a 35 year old female, have mild to moderate acne, and am also plagued by hyperpigmentation (from years of birth control pills, which I have now been off for 4 months). My skin has been described by estheticians as "thick" and in the past has always reacted very very well to all sorts of exfoliation and peels. For example, if a scrub said "use 3 times a week" I could use it every day and my skin just loved it. I never feel dry or flaky; more likely, I'll feel clogged and oily and want to scrub. All of the pores around my nose, chin, and between my eyebrows have always, always looked large and like they are dirty, even when I have just washed. So I feel like my problem is more blackhead related than pustule or whitehead type of stuff. I wish there was a little vacuum cleaner that I could use on my face that would suck out all the gunk from my pores ! I am curious to see if this regimen will work for me, and I know it will be hard for me to just do the super gentle washing, after years of scrubbing. Man, I love my scrubs ! But I see the success that so many people have had by following this system strictly, so I am prepared to do the same. Nothing to lose ...
So, I looked at the products recommended today, and I have to say - I have never spend so LITTLE on a skin care regimen ! This is great, and a little weird. I have been conditioned over the years to believe that I have to spend a couple hundred dollars to get quality products. I ordered some of the Cetaphil antibacterial soap bars from drugstore.com, and some of the 2.5% BP gel from Dan's website. Those are on the way, and until they arrive I am using the following (because I already have them in the house):
Cleanser: Philosophy "Purity Made Simple" cleanser. I purchased this as part of their "Makeup Optional Skin Care Kit" which is actually not a bad set of products. I'll have to set them aside for now and possibly reintroduce some of the fun stuff in there later. But the cleanser is a nice basic gentle cleanser, and it foams up nicely in my hands, so I don't see why I can't finish up the rest of the bottle and then start my Cetaphil bar.
BP: Right now, I have a brand new bottle of the Proactiv 2.5% BP cream, and I applied it today exactly as Dan does in his video. Felt a little weird to use so much, but I can get used to it. My face was a little but itchy - just a tiny bit - for awhile afterwards but that passed. Like I said, I have "thick" skin which seems to be pretty much the opposite of "sensitive." My skin thrives on products that would bring other people to tears, I swear. It must be genetic.
Moisturizer: Again, I went back to the Philosophy skin care kit that I already had, and I used their "Hope in a Jar" moisturizer. It is very light, with almost no scent, and it feels like you are rubbing water into your skin. For people who have found some of the other moisturizers too heavy and oily, this might be a good one to try, but you have to order it over the Internet, as far as I can find. It's about $20 for a medium sized jar - not as cheap as some of the other products that Dan recommends. So far it is working great, I don't feel dry or flaky at all, but maybe after a couple of days using the BP regularly, I might start to feel drier and want something heavier. I'll play it by ear ...
My skin felt really good after my first application of this regimen, and I am hopeful that I will have great results. I plan to follow the plan exactly, and to avoid the temptation to deviate and modify it myself, at least for several months until I see it working.
I will try to update daily with progress.

But hey, my parents are paying so so what xD. Im happy.
Cleanser: so far so good

cleanser smells good (almost no smell), feels good , and feels like a good cleanser, and it lathers nice xD.
PB: So for so good, had the feeling that it wasnt that much but i used 1/4th thick finger so it should be good... No burnings no flakiness (yet) no smell no sting.
Moist +Jojoba: stings a little bit, and also a little bit shiny
Overall: feels good , good smell, moist stings a bit and btw the packeging if you pump the first 2 times the stuff comes out of the top around the pump , and not out the pump. But after that it goes good so who cares

07:30: The clock beeps. It is time for another day at work. I sit up on the bed brink and take my both hands and stroke them over my eyes and face to wake up. I feel some pimples, especially a couple of big ones aching...
I run to the bathroom and find a couple of big pimples and a lot of small ones distributed all over my face. Once again I need to go to work with pimples in my face, attend meetings with customers as a professional but not having any self-confident and hiding my face. I feel like 14 again.
This is not an unusual day. The pimples make me feel that I am really young, immature, ugly, and unfit for my work etc. I KNOW that if I have a nice and clean skin my self-confidence will increase so much.
The few days my skin looks good I often get’s compliments saying “Wow, you have a good day today” and I do my presentations and meetings with the customers better. The pimples ARE affecting my life in such a negative way that something’s needs to be done and boy I have tried!
I have used Clearasil, benzoyl peroxide (of different brands), scrubbing of all sorts etc. etc. Today I received a method I haven’t tried yet: Beauty Skin
If it works it will be worth every pound it cost without any questions asked. I will try to put up some photos on my current skin soon as well so you can follow the result on this log.
Day 1, week 1 – 2009-11-17:
Today was the first time I used my Beauty Skin. I have such high hopes on it. I am afraid that the acne will get worse the first couple of days but I just need to get through it. It is a long-term solution and if it can sort it on a long-term solution I just need to get through those couple of days.
I started with washing my face with a Dove soup and wet my face and used the Beauty Skin for 15 minutes with a disctance of approximately 20-25 centimeters. I only used it directly in front of my face and not on the side.
I will most likely use Clearasil Scrub and Clearasil Deep Pour Wash tonight together with a oil-free lotion.

So I wanted to start a log just so in the future, when my skin is (hopefully) cleared up a bit, I can look back and see what I went through haha
A little backround on my skin, I've almost never dealt with actual pimples or cysts, but I have extremely oily skin. Tons of blackheads, whiteheads and just bumps. I have a problem with picking my skin, and I love messing with my blackheads as gross as that sounds haha. My main problem areas are my T-Zone. Whiteheads looooove to form on my forehead right between my eyes, it looks gross! I have tons of blackheads on my nose and I have very large cheek pores.
I dread going out in the sun because everyone can see all the gross bumps in my skin. On Saturday, Oct 31, 2009 my mom saw my skin and literally gasped because she'd never seen it right under light and she was able to see all the bumps...she let me order it on Sunday and I recieved the three steps on Tuesday!

Day 1-2
I started at night, because I recieved my products in the afternoon and I was just so excited to start! No redness at all, no drying.
Day 3
Ahhh my face was burning on this day. My cheeks were hot to the touch all day as well. I almost considered already stopping the regimen because of how much my face burned. Redness beginning to form. The stinging, caused my the moisturizer, was really bothering me on this day.
Day 4
I realized that the burning was from me not putting the BP and moisturizer gentle enough. I applied everything very gentley, and only experienced minor burning. My face was BRIGHT PINK the whole day, even after foundation and concealer! I was so embarassed and self-concious I wanted to cry. My neck is beige and my face was bright pink, bumpy, and cakey looking since I applied concealer over my now-flaking skin. I just looked awful and felt awful. I noticed right before bed, I was beginning to flake a lot more, the outsides of my mouth were flaking off, and my forehead felt very tight.
Day 5 (today)
My skin felt great when I woke up, no tightness, no burning, very nice....then I realized I needed to do the regimen all over again and I got sad lol... My face feels so tight and stiff right now. For breakfast I ate a large peice of bread and when I opened my mouth to bite it, my skin felt like it was ripping apart. Sooo dry. Outside of my mouth is starting to peel like crazy, looks pretty nasty. I am so glad I didn't have school today, I don't know how I would go like this flaking to school... My mom saw how self-concious I was about my skin yesterday and asked my if I was going to quit the regimen. Definitely not! My skin doesn't seem as red as yesterday thankfully! All of the blackheads on my nose and forehead seem very erect, and it's so hard for me not to pick at them! No new blemishes, and my forehead actually looks a bit clear, except for all the blackheads. Mom mentioned that my skin looked "Stiff" today, which I can definitely agree with. It's like I got botox and I can't move my face lol
That's it for now, I'll update again tomorrow! I took before pictures but I'm kinda embarassed to post them right now, I'll definitely post them when I see a bit more improvement. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask! Thanks for reading!

Alright! Here goes nothing! I'm trying out this regimen! I just abruptly stopped my derm stuff this morning! No more duac, differin, and ziana! I was on them for about 3 months and saw a very gradual improvement but not the results I wanted. Also, my face was so irritated from the duac in the morning! I really hope this works! Proactive worked for a while, so I'm hoping this regimen will do better! Wish me luck! I'll post tomorrow in regards to day 2.
Day 1:
2 healing pimples on my left cheek, 3 red spots
1 healing pimple on my right cheek
1 active pimple on my right cheek
no pimples on my chin
no pimples on my nose
no pimples on my forehead
mostly my cheeks are the problem area.

Hello,
I just started Dan's regime last night after reading his regime and other people's success stories: I am convinced that this is the ultimate way to get clearer skin (I have used everything before

..)
I have been having acne problem for three years now, and I am almost 21..I really don't even know when my skin will be beautiful and smooth like it used to be..but I hope this regime will help me to get there or at least help me to get close to it...
I have really bumpy white heads around my face and a lot on my forehead. I don't think it is severe, but it is definitely noticeable and it doesn't look good.
My routine:
AM:
-Baremineral's Rare Minerals facial cleanser (powder form, activate with water)
-BP (Dan's 2.5%)
-Murad SPF 30 oil free sunblock ( I am super oily)
PM
-BE cleanser (same as above)
-BP
-Baremineral's Rare Mineral facial moisturizer (contains jojoba oil, I heard negative feedback about the actual jojoba oil that Dan uses in his regime..plus I have super oily skin..I will however definitely choose products with jojoba oil as an ingredient)
-along with daily multi-vitamins: E, fish oil, multi, calcium.
I am glad that I have found this site and I am glad to have found so many people that I could share my experiences with.
Good luck to me,
Night!

So i started my Acne.org Regimen on Saturday using the pea-sized amount of BP only once a day. Now it's Tuesday and the redness, blotchiness, and itchiness are definitely here! Started noticing it yesterday and today it seems worse, so started to get worried. But was reassured by the What to Expect page that this is the exact reaction i should expect for the first week. Starting next Saturday i plan to up the dosage to the required twice a day (12hrs apart), so we'll see how that goes.
My biggest problem with this reaction is i want to put on makeup at work to help even my skin tone, but don't know if it's bad for the treatment? Taking off my eye and face makeup also presents a problem because i need to use eye makeup remover, which isn't part of the regimen. Should i be worried?
A little background about me, I'm 23yr old female with mild to moderate acne for the last 10 or so years, but in the last year and a half i keep getting concentrated breakouts on my cheeks, chin, and around my mouth, and have tried many things to fix it. I switched which side i answer the phone on at my receptionist job, with no change. I started changing my pillowcases more often and not going to bed with makeup on, with marginal change. I tried Proactive last year for about six months, admittedly not following their regimen consistently, but because it caused more breakouts and never seemed to make it better. Switched to Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub 2-3 times a day (with an AHA toner and unscented moisturizer), which did actually seem to help, and has soothing cucumber which i liked, but plateaued after a point. Just last month switched to Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Daily Cleanser because i thought a gel-base would be better than a cream-base, but didn't produce any immediate results.
I am getting married next July and am desperate to have acne-free adult skin on my wedding day and honeymoon. So here, hopefully, begins my journey towards that goal!

The DKR has gotten me clear, and I am so thankful for it. Really, I should say that I am ecstatically and enthusiastically thankful for it. And now that I'm in my thirties and am getting older, I'm wanting to start thinking about improving the other aspects of my skin. I use sunscreen every day to avoid premature aging, but skin ages anyway, and I want to do what I can to keep my skin looking as young as I can.
I know that retinols have good anti-aging properties, but they typically are de-activated (simplistically speaking) with BP. I definitely don't want to stop with BP and have my acne come back so I did some research. I found out that Diacneal isn't de-activated by BP. Diacneal is a retinol-based anti-acne product that also has the nice side-effect of smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles and improving skin texture, like retinols do.
I had used Diacneal on its own before, but it wasn't enough to keep my acne at bay. The DKR is definitely what works for me with my acne. So now I'm embarking on an experiment, modifying this one part of the regimen to see if I can keep the amazing benefits of the DKR while adding another benefit. We'll see. My new regimen is the DKR + Diacneal. I still cleanse with the DKR cleanser. I still put a few drops of jojoba on my freshly cleansed skin. I still apply the DKR BP twice a day in the same amount. But with the BP at night, I add a thin finger of Diacneal. Then I moisturize with Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer. I used to use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion at night, but I figured that it would probably be too irritating to use with the Diacneal.
I am not recommending that anyone follow this regimen, but I thought that some others in my boat (in their thirties, and onward, and still battling acne) might be interested in the thread. I'll let you know how this works for me.

Hi, I'm Brandon and I'm 17 years old and I am going to start off with a little info about my acne over the years. I've suffered from acne for about 6 years. At first it wasn't too horrible in the beginning but the pimples I got would feel like bruises and a head would never come up. At the time I used AcneFree which cleared them up somewhat but a new pimple would come back at the same spot a week after. Soon, it started to get real bad and I had pimples all over my face they would be tender and sometimes pop and leave scars or they would be very hard and then get real tender. I started to use Proactiv over a year ago and it helped slightly but the current state of my face is horrid. I have red marks from past pimples and sometimes another pimple comes up after that one disappears. I ordered the DP regimen a week ago and I started to it use it yesterday. I will be posting my regimen under here. I will edit the post later and add pictures of what my face looks like before I use the regimen.
Morning Regimen -
DP Cleanser
DP Benzoyl Peroxide
Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturizer SPF 15
Evening Regimen -
DP Cleanser
DP Benzoyl Peroxide
DP Moisturizer

I need to note that I started the regimen on Saturday, October 24th, 2009.

ok im new here and i think i seriously need advice in my regime.
Here is what i do two times a day(Morning and Night):
First, i use the UV cool cleanser by Follow Me
I'm quite comfortable with this. It really leaves a cool and refreshing feeling after cleansing.
[attachment=23224:uv_cool_cleanser.jpg]
After patting dry, i use this bio serum which claims to be useful for repairing scars. (I apply using cotton wool throughout my face since i have scars all throughout.)
Rosken Skin Repair Bio Serum
[attachment=23221:rosken.jpg]
Next,I spread this pimple gel throughout thoroughly on my entire face
Then i dib an excess,on any obvious pimples i have.
Follow Me Oil Control Pimple Gel
[attachment=23223:follow_m..._control.jpg]
*Contains tea tree, salicylic acid and arctostaphylos uva ursi leaf extract
Does it matter if i use pimple gel to treat acne?Cause i have both acne and pimples.
Last but not least, moisturizer for the entire face (i would 'splat' a pea-sized amount on the four major areas of the face and spread them afterwards)
Acts as a sunblock and contains fragrance. Is the fragrance harmful to the skin in any way?
Nu Teen All Clear Moisturiser
[attachment=23222:moisturiser.bmp]
Can i still continue this regime?Really need help asap. Thanks in advance.

Righto. Hey all, im Tom- 22 years young, mod acne sufferer since about 14.
Tried alllssooorrrtts of treatments over the years inc. numerous prescriptions from my doctor and dermatologist, which were all, well, useless in the long run.
Last 3 years- bar some slight, short-term improvements here and there, i havent had a day without mil/mod 'all-over face' acne (thats the best i can do description-wise). Its not a world-ender, dont get me wrong, but as the years tick by, the more of a nuisance it becomes- il be graduating next year and entering the big wide world, so now is the time to shift it me thinks.
To try and keep it short - ive pale and VERY sensitive skin. So much so, ive had nurmous run-ins with contact allergies in the past- from hair gels, to shampoos to cleansers (and even some moisturizers- score!). Had some similar (albeit milder) symptoms during the regimen a while back, which scared me off after a meagre week or so. However having trialed 5 and 10% quinoderm along with some pretty piss-poor generic brand cleasners and moisturisers its not surprising things got a bit red and scaly (niiiccee....).
On reflection, im pretty confident i just didnt give my face enough time to adjust and/or was using terrible supplies; so here i am once again- this time, equipped with dans instructions a few solid months of product trial and error under my belt. Always got some steroid creams on hand if things start to go pear-shaped...
So my starter regimen is as follows. Just to note- ive ordered some of dans bp. well alot of it -about 17quid plus postage gets you 12ounzes- 340grams! thats actually a lot less than it costs to buy the same amount of panoxyl in the uk (any order under £18 is custom charge free remember people!) ...
but in the meantime il give a small tube of panoxyl 2.5 a go just to get the ball rolling until dans stuff arrives.
Also, the nick lowe products wont be a permanent fixture thats for sure- theyre basically what ive been using for the last couple of months (with some success) and contain a low % of salycilic acid in them. Briefly, the moisturiser is very thick and works alone as a treatment (and isnt to 'moisturising' to say the least)- and goes a weird colour when used with bp...like green. They are also very expensive (for me anyway- at £20+) and not feasible in the long run - but i figure il stick with them over the next week and use them during the day just to give my face a bit of time to adjust to the bp, which il use at night.
sorted.
Thought id pop a few zinc tablets here and there aswell...
Morning/Early Afternoon
Dove sensitive soap followed by Nick Lowe sebum control toner
Moisturise with Nick Lowe oil control moisturiser
30mg of zinc gluconate
Night
Dove sensitive soap followed by Nick Lowe sebum control toner
Panoxyl 2.5% (low dose) soon to be dans bp...
Moisturize with Simple regeneration age resisting day cream spf15 (as recommended by fellow uk regimen users)
15mg of zinc gluconate
Il update every couple of days i guess with the grizzly details.
My camera is SOMEWHERE in my house. A cupboard perhaps? who knows.
Il try find it over the next week or so and get some weekly progress pictures on the go...
feedback, questions, comments, advice, stories, anecdotes, jokes, banter and amusing quips are all welcome.
cheers all!
Tom.

Hi, this will be my log documenting my trial with the Acne.org Regimen.
Some back round information on my acne and me. I have been suffering from light to mild acne since early teens. I have used many different products from BP, retinoids, antibiotics, to soap, healthy eating, exercising. It wasn't until I went to the dermatologist that my acne began to disappear about 3 years ago.
The dermatologist had me taking bactrim in pill form and using a retinoid at night. This cleared my skin alot but i was still getting a few pimples and my face would become red and irritated from the retinoid. I have very fair skin. After a while I became tired of putting the retinoid on my face due to me traveling a lot. Plus I was outside a lot in the summer and I hated gobbing sunscreen on. And I am sure the bactrim was making me feel tired and worn out during the daytime (add in the fact that I don't think taking antibiotics for long periods of time is healthy).
So I decided to just stop everything, start eating healthy, and just use a cleanser and moisturiser. And this leads me to today.
I ordered Acne.org's products because my skin still breaking out on my forehead (might be because I have long hair) and around my jaw line (also most likely due to shaving). Hopefully this simple regimen wont be so harsh on my skin and help clear up the few spots I have.
11/10/09 Wish me luck! Ill try and update this every week with new photos and information on how I am doing.

Okay so today I recieved the supplies and Im about to start using them! Wish me luck!
I have just applied it for the first time. I noticed that the products have a faint smell, it's not very strong, but when it applied directly under your nose you're bound to notice it. It doesn't smell bad, but it doesn't smell quite heavenly either, but if it works then I have no problem having it on my face. I did exactly what it said in the "Get clear" site so let's hope it works. Oh and yea Im not gonna say "OMG I can feel it working already" like on those TV shop programs but I don't really notice it's on my face except for that faint smell, which will probably go away once I've gone outside.

Well hello everyone!
To start off my name is Taylor, and I am 15 years old. I have suffered from acne since I was about 12. When I was 12 it was just the occasional pimple. When I was thirteen I got way worse. Then by 14 I always had acne on my face, and now I still always have it on my face it feels like they never leave.
Today was my first day using the Regimen. I'm using Eucerien cleanser, but i'm going to switch to Dan's Cleanser once I get some. Then I use Dan's BP a half - pump. Then I use Dan's moisturizer.
I took three pictures, but i'm not sure that there to great. The full face looks like I have no acne, i'm not sure how to take the picture, and not have the lighting make me look clear. Any suggestions?
So here are the pictures...

I have just started the acne.org regimen about a week ago for mild to moderate grade acne and I am completely clear besides 3 small active pimples.
A little about me: I'm the type of person that didn't think this regimen was going to work for them. It's just too simple, too cost-effective, too obtainable. Surely, I thought, it would be harder to get rid of acne that just a little BP and AHA, right? WRONG. I have had bad acne in the past...bad enough to prompt my doctor to place me on accutane over 10 years ago as well as many attempts to try everything on the market that was out there. I did another mild round of accutane about 2-3 years ago. Again, it cleared me up and about a year ago, I started to break out with my face becoming increasingly worse. So bad that I actually didn't even go out last week and turned off my phone and felt sorry for myself. I couldn't understand why I was trying to fight wrinkles and acne at the same time! My face was behaving like a 16-year-olds. I was angry and upset.
I ordered the products and I'm still finding out what is best right now but this is my current regimen:
Morning:
-Dan's Facial Wash with my Clarisonic tool (I use this but Dan recommends that you wash by hand as to not aggravate your acne but I find it useful to remove previous dead skin cells from the night before more efficiently)
-Dan's BP (one finger length)
-Dan's Moisturizer (I love this even though I wasn't sure at first; it works in well and doesn't leave a weird residue)
Night:
-Dan's Facial Wash
-Dan's BP (one finger length)
-Dan's AHA (love, love, love this; leaves skin super soft and it's perfect to get rid of my hyperpigmentation from my previous acne)
-Dan's Jojoba oil for my lips only (keeps them super soft!)
Like I said, it's a work in progress. I've been using another company's BP for about a week prior to getting my supplies but found that it was not working as well since I couldn't get it to absorb as well as Dan's BP and it would leave a strange white residue behind.
My skin was a bit dry this morning so I skipped the BP and applied the AHA and the moisturizer instead. I follow Dan's steps precisely and make sure that I have a towel just for my face that I change out every couple days and I also change my pillow case every 2-3 days.
If I stick to his regimen, I have no doubt that I will not only be clear in the next couple weeks but also that I will be able to go out of the house makeup-free as my hyperpigmentation will have faded by then. I'm excited and hopeful. Best of luck to everyone else.
Give it a try, what do you have to lose?

Hi my name's Marti, I'm 26 and I live in Victoria, Australia. Boring part as follows:
My first pimple erupted with a vengeance at the tender age of 9 - it wasnt large by any means, but my mum bought me aapri apricot scrub to try and combat it. If you ever used that stuff (circa 1991) - it was like getting the roughest sandpaper and trying to remove your face with it.
Since then, I have had an ongoing battle with "accers" - almost 18 years. I've been on differin, minomycin, diane (contraceptive), benzac washes, otc washes, creams, spot treatments - anything that promised something, I bought. I've tried proactiv - but luckily I only used it for a month or two (gift from a friend) before it could have any lasting effects.
I've had glycolic peels, been poked and prodded, lanced and squeezed.
I can't do roaccutane because of some problem with my lipids/triglycerides/cholesterol - diane actually took my cholesterol to 12-13 (meant to be between 5-6) and triglycerides to about 80 (meant to be 2-3 or something similar) - and my doctor still thinks Im a medical marvel, I had nurses staring at me at the dermo because they had never seen a LIVING person with those kind of levels... but I digress.
I ordered DKR on 7 Feb 09 and I'm anxiously waiting its arrival. I've gotten to a point where I'm sick of feeling like I have concentrated sunburns on my face, sick of wasting money on things that just.dont.work. and so tired of crying in the mirror when I wash my makeup off. My partner suffered SEVERE acne in his teens and early to late 20's, but its hard to listen to him when he says "It'll clear up on its own, or it may never, you'll just have to wait and see". I dont WANT to wait, I want it to be gone. I'm sick of it ruling my life, sick of not being able to go get the papers on a sunday morning without making up my face...
My doctor has also put me back on minomycin - 2x50g a day, so maybe that will help work on the inside while I focus on the outside...
When I get DKR, I'll post some pre-DKR photos up before my first use and update weekly - to do it daily would be like watching paint dry. I know it wont happen straight away - lord knows I've waited long enough. Maybe no-one will read my log, maybe they will - and if they do I hope that if this stuff works, it convinces them to STOP buying otc stuff...
Anywho! I'll update when my goodies arrive!
Thanks for reading... whoever you are!

Hello everyone,
We will start with my supplies:
(AM)
Step 1:Clearasil Gentle Cleansing Bar
Step 2:PanOxyl 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide
Step 3:Clearasil Moisturizing Lotion
(PM)
Same as AM Regimen, only I apply Step 1 while in the shower.
Well I am starting a bit late, but I started DK's Regimen on the night of October 30th. So that means today is the end of Day 6.
After waking up on the 31st, I immediately noticed small results. I went through my first full day on The Regimen, doing my routine once I woke up, and then that night before bed.
On Day 2 I woke up and my face was slightly burning and looked mildly sunburned. It was the same Days 2-4 but Yesterday(Day 5) and Today(Day 6) my face has not been burning, but it looks badly sunburned and I am peeling and flaking, even after I apply the moisturizer.
I almost feel like I look even worse, I can't walk into my University Cafeteria without keeping my head down, and my mouth feels cracked and dry so it's hard to open my mouth fully to take bites of food. I have to talk a bit softer also, as it sort of hurts to open my mouth because my whole face feels tight.
I am confident that the regimen is going to work for me as I have tried many things, and nothing has ever proved this rigorous or helpful to me. I am a 19 year old male who has been suffering from mild to moderate acne since I was 15, and I am tired of it. I am very outgoing, friendly, and social, but deep down I've felt helpless. I can only hope these side-effects soon fade.

Ah, the first post... where to start? Probably with an introduction I guess!
Im a 22 year old Canadian female who has ALWAYS had acne. My acne is relatively mild to moderate, with a handful of small non-red bumps and at least three bigger red guys on my face at all times. Occasionally painful, but generally just irritating!
Over the past seven years Ive been on Minocycline, clindoxyl, differin, four different types of birth control, and the proactiv system.
Im currently using a mild facial cleanser (Cetaphil), the BP from the proactiv kit and Cetaphil moisutrizer (cream and lotion, depending on how flakey I am) until my DKR comes in the mail (which I ordered a couple of days ago). I'm willing to dedicate myself to this regime for the next three months as a last ditch effort before going to talk to my doctor about accutane.
My primary concern with accutane is that I am not willing to go on birth control again due to having copious amounts of fertility issues within my family, and I have heard that doctors will not prescribe accutane without being on b/c. Im not sure if Im willing to go on b/c again, or accutane due to the issues that may arise from taking it in order to have a clear complexion yet... especially if the accutane doesn't end up helping my skin out anyway.
So... today is day 4 on the DKR and I'm already seeing a fair amount of improvement! The blemishes I had are clearing up (about five on my chin and jawline), my pores are looking 'tighter', and the redness from where I had picked at old blemishes is diminishing every day.
This isn't say that my skin is clear already, by no means at all. What IS happening is that my skin is drying out. I haven't experienced any of the redness or itch that a lot of people say happens, but the flakiness is here. Im flaking primarily on my chin and along my jaw, ie. where I suffer from acne as my forehead, nose, and cheeks have never been an issue. Moisturizer has kept the facial dandruff (ha) at bay over the past few days and its already starting to tone down a little bit (time to up the BP?).
Also, over the past four days I have had, get this, THREE pimples. Which is by far the best I've ever had it, all three had clearly been developing before starting the DKR and two surfaced very gently, no redness or pain or pustule at all, while the third (below my lower lip) is deep and slightly painful.
To finish off, I have also been avoiding touching/picking at my face as much as humanly possible lately and I'm quite surprised to see that I'm able to do this. I've tried to quit picking before, since it obviously only makes my skin more irritated, red, swollen, painful, and usually leaves a scab behind which is even more difficult to cover up than a pimple, but for some STRANGE reason, I haven't picked at anything but my dry skin (gently, with tweezers to get the super obvious flakes off) in the past week. Okay, semi lie, I tried to pop a painfully deep papule and it obviously didn't work... but that was the last time! I am so damn proud!
I will try to get some photos up next week as I'm currently on vacation for a wedding and no where near my camera!
Until then, here's my worst area of my face, with makeup and a shitty webcam... not really doing my skin justice to how bad it is, but still. A starting point!

I'm an African American female with sensitive, combination skin. I tried Dan's regimen and it cleared up my acne but created a whole other issue of terrible dryness.
What worked: The BP dissolved my blackhead issue
What didn't work: Jojoba oil was a nightmare. It made my skin break out.
So I adjusted Dan's regimen with much success!!
And wanted to submit what is working for me ;-)
AM
1. Wash gently with Clean & Clear sensitive skin foaming facial cleanser.
2. Pat dry and wait 5 minutes.
3. Apply Neutrogena Healthy Skin face lotion (2 pumps).
PM
1. Wash gently with Clean & Clear Sensitive skin foaming facial cleanser.
2. Pat dray and wait 5 minutes.
3. Squeeze out the full length of your pointer finger AcneFree Terminator 2% BP and apply evenly to face.
4. Let dry 15 minutes.
5. Apply Neutrogena Healthy Skin face lotion (2 pumps).
6. Let dry.
Try to do the PM regimen 10-12 hours before you plan on washing your face in the AM.
This has worked for me as an adult. Hope you find success too!!!!

So hello there.
I am Katherine, and I am 15
Let me tell you a bit about my skin. I have combination skin...kinda? Combination skin is where you have oily parts and dry parts right? Well mine I have oily parts and normal/tiny bit dry parts. My forehead is the dryest of all places, it isn't
dry, just on the borderline between dry and normal skin. My nose is probably
the oiliest bit of my face, and my cheeks are a little oily too. The rest of my face is pretty normal.
I have redness on my nose, cheeks, chin and a bit of my forehead. I break out mostly at my hairline, some bits on my forehead, and my cheeks. I also break out inside my nose and ears which is disgusting I know, I'm sorry! Is there anything you recommend for that?
I started a new regime a few weeks ago!

butttttt, I haven't been a good girl and stuck to it!
So from now on, I am saying that this is the day I officially started my regime, hopefully this site will keep me sticking to it!
Here is my regime:
Morning:
Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes
Nivea Visage Young control shine Mattifying Gel Cream (this is a moistuiser)
Night:
Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes
St Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish Fighting version
Nivea Visage Young control shine Mattifying Gel Cream (this is a moistuiser)
Weekly/Fortnightly:
I like to use a deep cleansing masque!
So that's my regime, I will hopefully post photos of what my skin is like currently

I uploaded the photos of my eyes because you can see how rough my skin is, and some blemishes, and my hair looks greasy, it isn't, i just washed it, so it's dampish.
byebye!

Ive had acne since I was about 12-13 but I would only get it on my chest, and back. Then around age 18 it moved to my face and it was relentless. Im 20 about to turn 21 and the acne calmed to a moderate level after anitbiotics, topicals, and natural remedies
I started the regimen on Sept. 28 about 2 weeks ago and it started off great but then in week 2 my skin turned red and it started peeling, it felt like if my skin was on fire but I stuck it out (im guessing my skin was getting use to the BP) After that I had an EXTREMELY bad breakout. And I am now currently stuck with the breakout. Maybe the medicine is working by getting all the acne that were deep inside my pores not sure or if it was irritated by the BP. I read somewhere that Dan's BP penetrates deeper into the pore and acts like a metabolic vessel to bring the acne to the surface quicker. I am hoping that is the case cuz these pimples hurt bad. I do notice that my smaller pimples clear up extremely quick but these pimples I have are red and tender and usually come to a head. These will come to a head quicker and clear up a bit quicker than before but it still takes about a week instead of 3 weeks. My skin on the other hand feels so smooth after it stopped flaking and turning red.
Has anybody else experienced this? Any tips on how to get through it faster?
Week 3: I am currently goin through the initial breakout (I think). Planning to stick thru to the end!
"I like a challenge because taking the bull by the horns is fun!"
Thanks to All for reading!! And Thank you for your support!

Hello everyone,
I've been on the Regimen since the roughly the beginning of January 2009, which makes it nine months to date. In that time, I've had the regimen clear up 90% of my acne. I have been so happy with this result, that I haven't really bothered to care about the occasional pimple or two that has popped up on my face every fortnight or so since then (usually on my chin). But, as I start my first-year of undergrad at the University of Toronto, in Canada, I find that I want to be truly and completely acne free. (Also, I find I have been breaking out slightly more since I started university then any other time on the regimen).
They say that improving in the ninetieth percentile is always the hardest. If you're failing a class, it's relatively easy to bring that mark up to a 50%. Just takes a little studying. It's still pretty easy to bring it up further to 60%, or 70%, even 80%. A couple more hours of studying. But once you reach the 80% mark, the amount of studying it takes to go from 80% to 90% increases exponentially. Increasing your mark upwards from 90% takes the most effort and pain of all. But that is what my blog is all about. I want to go from 90% to 100% clear.
Wish me luck.

Hi,
I am Kristin and this is my acne blog on the acne.org regimen. Let me give you a "quick" rundown of my acne history...
I am 22 and have suffered from acne since I was approximately 15-16 (it was really a problem once I was 16). I suffered horribly for nearly a year before getting the opportunity to go to a dermatologist who prescribed some stuff that cleared me up within 6 months! I was ecstatic! My acne slowly came back as I was unable to continue using the Rx he prescribed b/c I refused to go back and see him. I went on different birth controls (for the sake of birth control) and finally found one that seemed to actually clear me up. I was on it for about 2 years then decided to switch because I was tired of spending $70/month on BC!! My doc prescribed Loestrin that he could give me a prescription savings card so I now only have to pay $24/month for it. Well it made me start breaking out almost instantly! I started this pill in June, so since then I've been searching for an acne solution...leading me here...(I know I should just go back to that other BC, and I may, but for now I want a cheaper solution).
Ok, so I've been using Neutrogena's benzoyl peroxide as a spot treatment off and on since I was 16, I've just recently, with the onset of this influx of acne since starting the new pill, started using it as an all over treatment. So for the past week I've been using a good bit of it. Today I received my acne.org full regimen in the mail and will now start using his benzoyl peroxide...it's much better already! So much easier to spread and doesn't feel as thick.
Here's where I stand today in pictures (I promise it looks worse in person...for some reason these pictures make it look bearable, and to me, in the mirror, it's not!):
Those two cysts I have on my right side are the first cysts I've had in a while! I am so frustrated with them as they have both come up yesterday and today

. I figured it's from me using so much benzoyl peroxide in the last week...so let's hope they start clearing up! And I will only be using the bp once per day for at least a month, if not indefinitely...I'm not a fan of putting it on under makeup.

Here's the skinny... I am 24 years old, from Hawaii, but have lived in HOT Texas for the past 6 years. I have always had acne, but it didn't get really bad until moving to Texas. While in high school I had the occasional break out, but now it's almost a weekly thing. I have tried it all; Acne statin, proactiv, differin, and minotricyclin, all to no avail. Proactiv seemed to be working, but never cleared completely, and then it stopped working completely. AHHHH!
So I started the DKR 6 days ago. Experiencing dryness, but bought jojoba oil to combat that. My face is breaking out more than usual. I am using cetaphil wash, DKR BP, netrogena oil free moisturizer and aha. I know I shouldn't be using this yet, but I can't help it... I'm guilty as charged. I don't think that it will hinder my progress but if it will, please someone let me know!
So I tried the jojoba oil tonight and I was shocked. There were little skin balls all over my face. It was gross. This flaky skin is crazy.
Anyway, hope it all gets better.
