Hello
I was on tazorac gel for about a year, and it stopped working so i decided to try the regimen again, before i was on the regimen for about a year and stopped using it, would it be ok to come back on the regimen and use the full finger of BP?

Hey Guys
Ya so I'm in my 5th week and was applying full amount of bp... Though the redness hadn't reduced.. My face is still red after the regimen... and it burns and stings like crazy.... I was going through some threads and i stumbled upon some thread where a guy told that at times using bp can lead to Rosacea... I'm terribly scared... I dont want a red face forever.. and also i tried cutting down to Half a finger applicationg today.. but it still burnt like crazy and my face became red... What the hell is going on with me???
Thank you!

Hi everyone!
I’ve been a long time user of the Regimen, maybe four years now? Anyhow it has worked wonders up until recently. Sometimes when using the regimen in too strong of doses one area of my face would be blotched red. I would merely stop applying the BP to it and after time it would go away after a week or two.
However now it is happening more frequently and I cannot apply any BP to my face or else it becomes aggravated and seems to spread. I’ve attached a photo of what it looks like. They aren’t pimples or anything. Sometimes they are raised and if they are very irritated then a larger one may leak a little fluid.
This has been happening for the past couple weeks and I am trying to spot treat as needed but noticing since stopping double daily treatments my face is becoming very oily, back to the old days.. . and now recently single so it is the worst possible time.
I was curious if anyone has experienced this, knew what it was, or had any suggestions for combating it rather than just cold turkey on the BP and hoping for the best.
Thanks so much!

Hello,
I've been on the site for awhile now, and my acne problems have stemmed the last 4 years. Due to various treatments, topicals, emotional health and exercise, I've had about a year of clear skin in the midst of that. In February of this year my skin became quite inflamed again and it's been on and off with a mild-moderate but frustrating and upsetting quality for about the last 5 - 6 months now.
I have avoided Dan's Regimen all this time, because my skin is extremely sensitive and I get very worried about putting chemicals on it, so have tried a lot of holistic alternatives. I started taking Dianette 6 weeks ago, due to my ongoing distress, but have had little success so far. Do you think the regimen could help?
Thanks,
Grace

Hello, i just started yesterday and I have had some pretty bad experience.
Last night I put on Dan's BP gel (2 pumps) and it was fine. My face didn't turn red and I didn't itch at all. So i waited 5 minutes and then put on a Glycolic Acid Polymer moisturizer for oily skin and wow my face was on fire. There was burning, itching, stinging, every possible pain. I have been using this moisturizer before so I didn't expect this. It was so bad I had to wash it off.
So I thought I need to use a different moisturizer.
This morning I used Neutrogena SPF 100 dry touch moisturizer/sunscreen. I waited 15 minutes for Dan's BP gel to dry. But when I put this neutrogena product on it clumps. It was like rubbing wet paper on my face because it practically all came off like scrubbing dead skin or something.
Should I have waited longer before applying a moisturizer? How long do you wait? Can I just skip moisturizing and sunscreen all together

Hi from Norway! Been on the Regimen for a couple of weeks and very nice results! Almost no active acne! =) Many red marks though, should I just wait for them to fade or is there something I can do now? Red marks last 6 months? Or longer?
Take a look at the picture of the right side of my face. Suggestions?
Thank GOD for giving birth to Dan the MAN.

Hey Everyone,
I have just completed 3 months on the Regimen and I AM JUST ABOUT TOTALLY COMPLETELY CLEAR!! I have not had skin this nice since I was at least 16. I have only one problem area (right side of my chin) that is still lingering, but it is clearing up everyday (by using extra BP on it morning and night). I went through that horrible first month of red flaky skin, and I do have a lot more scars, but this is so worth it.
I also just recently bought BareMinerals which completely covers my scars, and doesn't cause me to break out. I know Dan says not to wear make-up on the Regimen, but without make-up I would constantly pick and scrutinize my face. I think wearing make-up (good make-up) will help your skin by letting you forget about it for a while.
I've been taking pics the entire time I have been on the Regimen. I will post them soon when I have time.
Keep with it everyone! Good luck!

Hey guys, I specifically joined this site to tell you about something amazing. If you have very mild acne, oily skin that occurs throught the day, rough skin or enlarged pores with uneven skin tone, then you've come to the right place! I've had all of the above, and my problems are slowly starting to go away since I've been using a very good face cream for about a week now. This cream is cheap, works well, and has a light smell. It is Olay classing moisturizing creme. The box looks like this and I believe all of you guys will see the improvement in your skin. I recommend that you use this product in this order for best results: 1) Wash your face with a good face cleanser, such as Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub. 2) Towel dry your skin LIGHTLY and make sure it is not completely dry, but not too wet. Your skin should feel a bit damp. 3) Take about a nickel size of cream and rub it all over your face. If you take a bit too much, rub as much as you can into your face, and then put it on your neck/chest. If you put a little too much, don't worry, it should wear off in a bit. Repeat these easy steps atleast twice a day, in the morning and night.

I am almost at the end of week 6 of my regimen. I've seen improvement in some areas like my forehead and temples. Also kept away hormonal cysts on my chin so that's a plus! However, I am still breaking out a lot on my cheeks and the sides of my face. The b.p. either makes pimples stay around longer and/or leaves little burn marks that take forever to heal. I am using half a finger in the A.M. and a full finger P.M. I tried adding more and got the sunburn-look/flaking and had to cut back.
Cetaphil lotion takes care of flakes, but I have to put on so much it feels very heavy on my skin, like it can't breathe. I stopped using Cetaphil facewash awhile back because it clogged my pores (and incidentally even made my 9 month old breakout!!) and I want to switch from the lotion too. I am on a budget so need something not too pricey...CeraVe and Complex 15 are out of my price range and Olay moisturizers make me break out, even the sensitive version. Could someone help me out here?

Over the years [with acne] I've included some personal hygiene habits specially to keep my face "clean". My boyfriend calls me Howard sometimes to poke fun; referring to Howard Hughes and his obsessive-compulsive disorder. Maybe some of you can identify with my habits. Just to make it clear I only do this when I wish my face

)
If I'm washing my face over the sink:
Once I turn on the faucets to wash my face I do not touch the faucet again bare handed until I'm completely done with my regimen. That means I use toilet tissue to close them when I'm done. I still have to apply the treatment and moisturizer and I want my hands as clean as possible. I don't touch a thing (not a glass of water, not my cell... nothing) with my hands until I'm done and if I do, I wash them again and continue. Slightly Howard maybe

)
A year ago I started changing my pillow case more often. Now I sleep on a fresh pillow case the first night, flip it over the next and replace.
I produce enough oil on my face to fry on egg on it. Seriously, it gets ridiculous sometimes so I wash my hair every other day. I have long hair and the only reason I don't wash everyday is b/c I know some oil is good for my hair. The shampoo and condition I use (I use Suave) contains no avocado oil. I don't need any extra, thank you.
I started the Regimen a little over two weeks ago and I'm amazed. I still have some scarring from previous episodes but my face looks tons better. My brown spots seem to be fading faster then ever and most of all no new pimples/bumps. I wake up in my morning, look in the mirror and smile.
Thank you Acne.Org!
Best of luck,
Me aka Howard

Well after suffering from acne since I was like 14 (Im now 21) I finally tried dans products after trying nearly everything else. On June 22nd I started the regimen and this has been my experience. Let me start off by saying without the support of this website there is no way I would have stuck with the regimen this whole time. Anyways, the first few weeks really got me depressed because I saw no results at all but i read everything and how I needed to give it at least 3 months and I told myself no matter what stick with it. A month past by and still the change was not really noticeable. I would clear maybe for a day or two and get all excited then I would purge like crazy. This continued to happen badly until the end of august beginning of september. As of right now the major purging I belive has stopped but I'm not 100% clear yet. I'm the clearest I have ever been. I still get a pimple here or there but nothing like the horrible minefield I used to have on my face daily. I actually used to wear makeup to cover some of it up (I'm a dude) and I havnt done that in like 2 months. My only problem is I still have just red marks around my nose area and chin and they dont seem to be fading at all. I also noticed the breakouts I would get didnt last nearly as long. Has anyone here had the red marks fade? If so how long did it take. Also, again if it werent for the message boards and this site I wouldnt have kept with it because you find yourself being so depressed and thinking your wasting time and money. When i would read other peoples storys I would get a little boost of confidence each time. As of right now I can say Dans regimen and products have been the best thing I've used so far.I'm not perfect yet but I'm sure I will get there thanks!

Hi, i've only posted once before on this board but that was to just explain how much better my acne was from the regimen. But what i want to know is can anyone help me with my skin by way of new routine for my current situation?
I have attached pictures to this post so you can see my skin. I have rosacea and experience flare ups of red marks around the tops of my cheeks when stressed, also, i have very oily skin especially on my forehead and the sections on either side of the nose and under the eyes. I do experience whiteheads at times but i use the regimen (or my own store bought edition for that). The reason is because i can't afford the Daniel Kern products due to the $50 shipping to ireland on all orders. I use a nivea for men extra soothing face wash, panoxyl 5% benzoyl perozide and the eucerin replenishing face cream with urea, day and night versions of both.
I want to know if a personalised regimen could be made up for me, to cater for my oily skin with rosacea. I know the products i use may be a problem but i'm desperate as i've had bad skin for nearly 7 years now. I'm on a drug called by-mycin for the rosacea at the moment on the doctor's advice to reduce inflammation and i take cod liver oil capsules every day. The real trouble is not only am i stuck with a red face in nearly EVERY social encounter, i have to deal with an almost miraculous shine on it as well... So please any help would be appreciated as i'm so sick of wanting to stay out of photographs! So I've been on he regimen for almost 3 months now.
My face has cleared all of the clogged pores but still a few pimples here and there.
Before the regimen my neck had like 1 pimple evey month, I decided to use BP for my neck and the first month it was fine. At the beginning of the 2nd however my neck was so dry and all sorts of clogged and inflamed pores came.
My neck now feels like a pizza crust right after I wash it and wait 10 minutes.
Should I stop using BP on my neck? Why is it so damn dry?
I use cetaphil gentle cleanser, when moisturing I use 2 full pumps of cetaphil along with 10 drops of jojoba oil during night time. Also AHA+ 3 times a week.
Oh forgot, I ony use 1 full pump for my face and half a pump for my neck.
My face still has dead skin that peels off every so often, does this eventually stop?

Hey everyone, new member here, first post
I have really weird case of spots -
all of my face barring a small area on my right hand side is pretty much clear, touch wood, maybe the odd small spot every now and then which disappears pretty quickly without any treatment. The right side of my face, between my cheek and my nose, has had breakouts for the last 6 months or so, they're not severe, but they are very irritating. Every couple of weeks I'll get another two or three small spots which then take ages to fade. Every month or so I'll get an ugly spot which if I manage to deal with it correctly goes away within a week but leaves a red/brown mark which takes another month to fade.
So my question is this; would you recommend the regimen? Living in the UK, the combined cost, including postage is over $50, which may not sound like alot, but I'm only 16 and not earning atm lol. Plus I'd need to re-order like every month? I could find a way of getting the money if it was definitely gonna help, but would you say my case isn't severe enough for the treatment, and it could make things worse/ no difference?
Also, any ideas why it would just affect this one area? I thought it may be because of spot picking, but when I do that now, I'm very careful and only do it the right way. It can't be becuase of diet if it only affects one small area right? and I try and make an effort to sleep on the left side of my face, so I don't think it's that either?
Sorry for the long post, TIA

All I can say, is that about 2 weeks ago. My acne that I have had ever since I was in 9th grade was as bad as ever! I have bought every over the counter acne product, it all sucks. Period. I have also been seeing my dermatologist for many years. I have been on retina-micro, tazorac, differin, epiduo, and many pills including, minocyclin, which I am currently on, tetracyclin, even that god awful Accutane! which gave the skin on my arms a very dry rashy thing. I dont know if minocyclin does anyhing for me, but I still use it. Epiduo gave me the best results out of the topical medicines.
However!!! I was about to turn 20, and I was fed up with my acne, and I decided to wage a WAR! After searching online at 3am for hours I finally found acne.org Now at first, like anyone who looks online, I thought that it was just another one of those crap acne programs that would never work for me.....I mean why would it! i was seeing a professional dermatologist for years and that was doing hardly anything. But in a act of desperation I bought Dans starter kit, wid my credit card. A few days later it had arrived, I followed the instructions imediatley just as Dan did on his videos online. And wallah! Its a miracle. My skin looks better then ever and it has only been 3 days! Luckily for me, I had been using epiduo which was is a 2.5 Benzoyle Peroxide gel, so my skin was used to dans product right off the start. Right away I caked it on! as much as I thought my skin could handle haha. And I am so incredibly happy! and at the same time very upset that I didn't find this 8 years ago! Thank you so much Dan I will be ordering the bigger kit as soon as I run out.
Just a heads up to anyone with bad acne. I would say my acne was moderate to sometimes severe, it was pretty horrible, often to the point where my face would hurt alot! Just try Dans product! its the best thing I have ever done! My total was around 50 dollars, and I can only imagine the amount of money I have spent on other pointless products. Like Neutrogena Spot treatment! LOL what a Joke 6 dollars for a little tube of crap, I bought this with a moisturizer because I ran out of Epiduo before Dans products came, it was terrible dried my skin right up, and just felt like crap, and didnt help my acne. Just please Believe me when I say, STOP BUYING OVER THE COUNTER PRODUCTS! Dans Product is the best period!
If you wish to continue to see the dermatologist its your choice, I feel like smacking mine for not telling me to try Dans Regime, or his products. Before Dans products came I was there, and I told them that I had ordered this product from acne.org. They kinda shrugged and said, it may work, people have different results! How could they not know about this amazing treatment if they go to college! and there job is to make sure you have good looking skin! Probably because they want to keep getting money from my health insurance or something, AHHHGHAHAHAHAA so mad. Anyway thanks Dan you saved my skin! Without you id be in the same place, depressed and desperately trying to fix my skin with absolutely no results!
I am now just starting on my journey with the regimen, but this is the fastest i have ever seen my skin clear up, and look so damn good at the same time! My pimples are almost all gone, and even the red spots that were behind them are starting to disapear! Dont second guess yourself try Dans product, I know it will work, if it doesnt I dont know what to say. This is my golden ticket and I AM SO HAPPY!

Now I know this is not recommended but what are peoples thoughts on this?
I'm very tempted to just wash my face with water for the day time and apply BP for night time application, the things I dislike about applying BP during the day =
- Redness at times
- Flaking if I accidentally brush my face on something
- Face looks oilier because of moisturizer
- If it rains/ I sweat sometimes its evident I have BP/moisturizer on
- Have to wake up 2 hours before i leave the house to make sure redness has subsided
- Staying over someones house (I can get away with sneaking into the bathroom at night and applying BP but in the morning it's a whole different story...)
I know it's not the way the regimen is meant to work but It would be a lot easier...
Opinions?

so ive been on Ziana once a day for about 2 1/2 months, and i dont really see a difference in my face, well...it seems like i get less big pimples, but i seem to have a lot more little ones that dont really come to ahead, just kinda looks like clogged poresaround my cheeks. Should i just stick with Ziana, or get on dans regimen. My acne is on the more mild side of moderate. Im just starting to worry that ziana wont work because it seems like ive been usign it for so long, almost done with my first 30 (g or mg? i forgot) tube.

I've been on the regimen for about 6 months now and it's cleared me up tremendously. But i'm still having one problem. About every two weeks the skin around my mouth and goatee region gets dry. To avoid this I have been putting 2 pumps of moisturizer on since I started getting this problem, but I'm still getting flakes. What should I do? Should I switch moisturizers?

would toning with apple cider vinegar be way to irritating and drying along with the regimen? I know, you're not suppose to add any extra steps until you are completely clear, but has anyone used acv along with the regimen without too much irritation?
