Below is a link that has intrigued me because this doctor says that if you use the amino acid l-carnitine along with your pantethine that it would improve it's effectiveness in clearing acne! I did some digging and found that pantethine is absorbed twice as well as pantothenic acid (that also has to be converted to pantethine) so according to this finding you would use as much pantethine to acheive the same results as twice the amount of pantothenic acid. For example you would need to ingest 3 to 5 grams of pantethine to achive the potency of 10 grams of pantothenic acid. Now add carnatine to the mix and maybe we got a more effective treatment?
Please refer to this article for this topic: http://jeffreydach.com/2008/09/04/pantethe...ey-dach-md.aspx I am right now for a week and a half been using pantethine for experimental purposes ( just got off B5 again for safety concerns and inconvience) so I don't think that it could hurt to give this a carnitine a try. Let me know what you think.

Hello everyone!
I'm so tired of taking supplement after supplement only for a new side effect to appear or it to stop working all of a sudden. Something works for a month or two then stops. As of this day the only thing that has ever got me 99% clear was B5 then came the nasty side effects like extremely sensitive teeth, night sweats, and huge weight loss but we aren't talking about B5 now... A few weeks ago I was about to order another bottle of Pantethine when I noticed a product that I never seen before on Vitacost's website and it was Praventin. At first I thought, nice another crappy product take advantage of my skin situation. But now after a little research (and little is all that I could find), now I am curious. There are a few products out there with Praventin as the main ingredient but what would work best if it even works at all. It is a derivative of a milk protein after all and we all know by now how dairy products can make acne worse. Here is just one of the few actual links that I found about this product: http://www.health24.com/news/DietFood_News...-3420,36397.asp Very interesting huh? A product made from milk to clear acne? Kind of an paradox. I am actually concidering purchasing to try but I can't decide what to get. Vitacost has their own version of this but it is expensive and I had nasty luck with anything made by NSI (Vitacost brand). The other brands have added different kinds of herbs and other stuff that supposed to help acne but I have a feeling that it is all hype that some scientist or marketer with beautiful skin and doesn't need these products put together for a marketing ploy. Hmmm Need more information here. Oh well I'm hoping to order tomorrow to try one form or another of this stuff. I'm getting desparate now. I'm almost 30 and I still break out like a teenager. I have tried everything I could find and research internally and out and I need a final solution. (And NOT Leo Keison's final solution! RIP OFF!) Sorry to vent here. Well anyway anyone try this yet? I don't want to do this alone. Any resources on this Praventin that someone could post would be appreciated. Regards, Dave PS... Hi,
I had a long talk today with my wise old grandmother and she kind of hit the nail on the head when she said "where I come from if you are disabled you date someone disabled, otherwise anyone else won't really understand" then she said "since you have acne, date someone who has acne too and you will be happy". Man this makes so much sense! Yes I have thought about this before but have been unsuccessful in finding a girl that has acne. I did meet a girl on a train years ago that had bad skin. We talked for a little while and I never felt more confortable talking to anyone like this in my life. But she was too young for me to date so I had to let her go. I live in Chicago, IL and work downtown and there are beatiful women everywhere! But none I've seen have acne or maybe they did a really good job at covering it up? Growing up I always felt that I could never connect with anyone as much as I want to because they just don't know what it's like to walk around with a time bomb for a face or suffered greatly and had their life seriously effected by their appearance to the world. Well actually that's not totally true because one of my ex-girlfreinds had a weight problem and it was effecting her self esteem but her skin was beautiful! I'm not looking for someone to be depressed with or constantly moan and groan about how bad our skin looks (or how fat they are) either. Instead I feel that our relationship would be like that of partners who both are overweight. I was a cable guy for a while and I met a lot of people and one thing that I did notice was the fact that people that where overweight together were happy together but when you have one obese and one skinny you have problems. This also happened with people in which one had bad skin and one had clear skin. Just imagine... You and your partner have bad skin so there would be nothing holding you back and no remorse, just happiness. I don't know... I guess I just want my next girlfriend to be thin with acne + scars like me. I'm not saying the girls don't find me attractive either, I would just feel more comfortable with a woman with skin issue like mine. The last girlfriend I had had beautiful skin but she could never look me in the face. Now I do have good eye contact with anyone so I don't know if she was shy or not, but just because she couldn't look at me except for shot periods I felt self conscience about the way that I look. Of course she said that I look gorgious but I was always left wondering. I feel that if I had a girlfriend that had problem skin that this would not be a problem. Now here's the big problem... On occasion my skin would clear up completely (rare though) and I wouldn't have a problem with women with clear skin but I am always wondering what would happen after going out on a date while clear then on the second date during a breakout? I don't just break out either as I do have cystic acne and when I flares up it's scary. I'm almost 30 and ready to get settled down already! I've had acne since I was 15 and now I am finally getting it under control. Even if my acne goes away for good I still have scars both physically and emotionally. I am tired of feeling like a freak because I am with someone with nice skin. I have always felt that this is one of the compatibility issues that will never make me feel like I am on level ground with my partner. Oh well it's late and I don't even know where I am going with this but maybe someone can point me in the right direction? Anyone else have this problem? Anyone ever felt this way? Anyone single women living in Chicago that would like to test my theory Dave

Hi All,
I was just looking over some threads and many of you are still using B5 or Pantothenic Acid. Is there anyone that is using Pantethine? I just started taking some every day to see what would happen and after a week something is starting to happen. I used to take 12 grams of B5 a day slit up (about 5 years ago) and my skin was beatiful for a long time but I just got tired of taking so many BIG pills as mine were 1 gram each. I'm hitting a wall here so now I am trying old remedies but now in the form of Pantethine. This stuff is a lot cheaper than when I was using Pantothenic acid 5 years ago. Also since then I have tried everything on this forum and elsewhere, nothing has worked as good as B5.

Hi All,
Anyone ever experienced a weird trend that whenever you forget to take any supplements at night or after dinner, you didn't breakout worse or even cleared up a little? I just noticed that whenever I forgot to take any supplement in the evening, my skin is usally clearer in the morning. I just realized this for the last couple years no matter what I was taking at that time. |
