Hi. Has anyone tried either Acne-tab or Oratin. Both are sold over the internet and are supposed to have similar effects to Accutane in that they shrink your oil glands.

Thanks,

Irish

I think the main ingredient in Oratin is MSM, plus some vitamins and minerals, so it would be much cheaper to just buy these instead.

Hi. Just wondering why you think I should stay away from these products? Have you are anyone else tried them? Also, the main ingrediant in Oratin is a fiber based product, not MSM.

Thanks,

Irish

I have been on Oratin for over a month. I was on accutane a few years ago, but acne had come back and I was again struggling to get rid of it. I didn't want to go back on accutane as I the side affects from it are so terrible and I also don't want to take the risk because I want children in the near future. I was searching for an alternative and came across oratin. It is very costly, but I figured I have wasted so much money to get clear skin already it was worth a try. My results...........

The first week no change. The second week a massive breakout (probably a combination of monthy hormone surges and the new meds) Third week, breakout drying up quickly, chapped lips. 4th week, NO Breakouts on face or BACK! (and we all know how stubborn that bacne can be!) I am finally clear. My skin is a little dry, but I'm using Dove essential mosturizing lotion and that seems to help. I'm also only washing my face with Cetaphil 2X a day. I don't want me skin to dry out too much by using other products.

Personally, I don't care what the cost of staying clear is. Its worth it to me. My happiness is worth it. This stuff is working! I hope it continues. Just try it. What do you have to lose?

Hi! Irishharry7 again. Actually, Oratin is a combination of Glucomannon, B-5, and Bioton. I have been on it for @ 6 weeks and my face and back look so much better. I was taking 3 pills 3x/day, but I am now taking 3 pills 1x/day. So I will see if it does continue to work and keep you posted. My red spots also seem to be fading. To gmeasmile, I am glad it is working for you, too! I did not experience any of the dry lips. How much did you start with and how much are you taking now?

If these are the ingredients of Oratin, would it not be cheaper to take generic Glucomannon, B-5, and Biotin supplements instead?

Hi gmeasmile! Irishharry7 here. I was just wondering what doseage of Oratin you are taking and if after the 4th week you have decreased to a maintenance dose? I was taking 3 pills 3x/day for @ 6 weeks before I felt that it was working. I then decreased to 3 pills 1x/day because I was running out of pills. I then received my next order and am taking 3 pills 2x/day to see if that is all I need. I don't think the 1x/day dose was working that well. I am 15 and I also have face and back acne. I was wondering if you have heard of Acne-Tab? The website is Acne-tab.com. It is similar to Oratin, but uses herbs instead of vitamins. You take 2 tablets 3x/day. The only thing is that is comes from Pakistan and I am a little leary about using something from there. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Irish

Just stumbled across the Oratin website and am now interested in buying it. Is anyone still using it?

Hi DarkDragoon! Irishharry here. I can't speak for the others, but I am not using the Oratin right now. I stopped because my lips and eyes became very dry. I am thinking of using it again, but am not sure. Right now I am taking Accunaturals, which is more of a vitamin based product with one herb in it. Have only been on it for @6 days, so can't tell if it is helping. I know that Oratin is rather expensive, but it did seem to work and will most likely work for you. You may or may not experience the dryness that I did, as everyone is different. I also just ordered the Face Doctor soap that I read good reviews about on this site. Have not received it yet, so can't tell you anything right now. It is really hard to find something that works and works all the time, but I figure eventually something will be right! I hope this helps and I wish you luck with whatever you try. Also, the Accunaturals website is Accunaturals.com, I think. Also, keep me posted on your experience.

Thanks,

Irish

Hi!
I am also taking Oratin ( 15 days) My skin now looks very bad. I knew it was coming because when I washed my face I could feel baby pimples surging.( They say that it takes about tree weeks to actually show up on your face.). Therefore I think I can not blame on oratin for all the pimple and cist that I can see now on my face. I will keep you all posted next week. I think three weeks it will give me a good idea if it is working or not.

Have any of you tried taking Oratine and Acuzine( not acutane) at the same time?
