Hi there,
I've been taking 100mg. Doxycycline for a couple of years now, and was just reading about 40mg.Oracea for acne. It's a time-released version of Doxy, but with less side effects. I was wondering if anyone else out there has tried it for their acne, and has had any success with it.

Hi fellow Fraxelers,
I haven't been on this board for quite some time, and I have a question for you. Next week I will be getting my 3rd and final Fraxel 2 this winter. I will have had a total of 13 Fraxels over a 2 1/2 year period.

According to Dr. Oz, when you have repeated injuries to your body, such as sunburn, the cells are rushing to that spot to repair itself, and if this happens repeatedly, the cells eventually weaken and split in half, thus risking your chance of getting cancer. My question is, having had all these treatments, am I at a higher risk of getting cancer now?

I also wanted to let you know, I've had over a 50% improvement in my skin from these treatments, but I hope I'm not going to get cancer from this. Any opinions on this?

I read on here awhile back, and can't find it now, that there is a % of cortisone that the doctor's should use to prevent scarring. I want to send my son in because of a couple of bad cysts, and I want to ask him what he uses. Can anybody remember about this thread? Thanks.

Someone told me they used Neosporin Acne Pads treatment for their scarring, along with the Palomar laser, and saw good results from using these. Has anyone else tried these and had any luck with it?

I forgot to mention these pads are specifically for acne scarring and he found them at Walgreen's.

My son's dermatologist perscribed Nicomide for him about a month ago. It is a perscription supplement
containing zinc, copper, and folic acid. I have no idea why you have to get a perscription for this. He's 21 and has gotten cystic acne around his nose, mouth, and chin for a couple of years now. He has acne similar to mine(I've had it for over 30 years, and am on antibiotics for almost 9 years.) He takes 2 pills a day, and I can't believe the improvement in his skin. It is almost perfectly clear now. It would probably be totally clear, except he forgets to take it twice a day sometimes. We are currently in a holding period with our insurance. They don't want to cover this, calling it a supplement. It's quite expensive, $60 a month. His doctor faxed them a letter yesterday saying he needs to take this because of acne, and not just as a supplement. They are supposed to get back to him in 24 hours, after they review this. I want to start taking this too, and see if it will help me. I would do anything (except Accutane) to get off of antibiotics.

Has anyone one else taken this? If so, I'd like to hear what you have to say about it.
