I started accutane about 3 weeks ago. During the past week I have been experiencing a new kind of back pain, but am unable to say for certain its from the tane. I think I remember seeing that most people here have lower back pain, but mine isn't really "low"

I'm not sure how to describe it. I think the best way would be to say that it is around the bottom of my rib cage, but above my kidneys. Its not near my neck at all though. I only really notice it when I lie down or arch my back backward. Its pretty sharp for a minute but fades quickly.

It's not something I remember experiencing in the past. I just have a hard time saying it's the meds because I have been under a lot of stress, been doing a lot more walking, and have had to carry things long distances lately.


It would help if anyone else who has had accutane-caused backpain could describe it so I know if that's a possibility.

I would describe it as a dull shooting pain when i lay down in bed particularly at night after a loong day. I am sur eyou are familiar with having to slowly relax into position as it hurts too much to do it suddenly.

This fortunately went away for me after i finished tane.

My muscles and back are sore and stiff like I had been working out for hours upon hours at a time like I did in high school. The weather has been very cool here in Houston lately and so it has effected my muscles and knees and back as well.

I always found the pain would strike around the lower back region, riiiiight along the spine. Nothing a little Excedrin ES cannot handle (for myself - not to speak on behalf of others.)

I know what your taliking about, I had that too. I had back pain for week 2 and three. Now Im on week 4 and it is gone.
