The only real BCP that has worked for me when it comes to regulating my period as well as clearing up my skin is Diane -35. I would go back onto it once I have more cash flow coming in but for now, I'd like to try something different.
Now that I'm on Spiro, I'm strongly considering going back onto a BCP because my periods are practically non-existent but I'm afraid to because when I had tried Alesse over a year ago, it made my skin really, REALLY bad. If I were to try something like Tricyclen Lo, would it make my skin break out the way it did with the Alesse? What types of BCP have you tried that worked well with the Spiro? Thank you.

I know this sounds strange but I'm just curious about this. Can spironolactone cause kidney disease or problems with the kidneys? Since it makes you pee a lot more, I didn't know if that would put stress on the kidneys.

I've heard that there is the possibility that a person's potassium levels can rise while on Spironolactone so it's best to avoid or limit foods high in potassium but how does one do that when there is potassium in almost every food out there?
I had started this pill yesterday and after reading up on foods that are high in potassium, it seems like the only thing I can live off of is water because so many foods contain potassium. Wth? Are we all suppose to become anorexic once we start using Spiro so we don't consume to much potassium? I'd really appreciate some insight on this. Thank you.

Hello everyone.
I have PCO and Spironolactone was one of the medications that was recommended to me to clear up my oily skin and acne. I had gotten the pills last night and I'm going to start them today but I have some questions about it first. 1. I had tried Yasmin a year or so ago and I gotten some bad side effects from it. I know that the progestin in Yasmin is derived from the water pill so will I react the same way with the water pill as I did to the Yasmin? 2. How common is it to get allergic reactions to this medication? Thank you! p.s. if this is in the wrong forum, please move it. |
