Alright so I've only been on Dan's regimen for a month and have had fantastic results.
What I've done thus far is simple and easy for guys to do: - Shave daily with a 2 or 3 blade razor in the shower! - Cleanse in the shower immediately after shaving. - Let your face dry and re-shave. - Then apply a generous amount of BP when your face is dry again. - After 15-20 minutes, moisturize and add more if you need it. In my personal quest to defeat my acne, I've found that removing the dead, flaky skin that BP creates is essential. Not only do you want to shave in the shower, but shave lightly after you get out. When I'm out of the shower, my skin will start to get real tight and flaky. I re-wet my face with water and then I get my razor wet. I then puff up my cheeks and start to shave the skin off. It may sound weird but it works! Having a nice round surface to shave makes it easier to get all that skin off. And of course you want to be GENTLE but CONFIDENT. Do the same to the area around your chin and even up towards your temples. Anywhere that you have flaky skin can be shaved in my opinion. In all honesty, I even shave my forehead if it starts to flake; just very lightly. By shaving that skin off you're also allowing for new, fresh skin to surface eliminating some rougher areas affected by acne. Also, you get more out of your BP and moisturizer application! Instead of rubbing your BP and moisturizer on top of dead skin, you're applying it to new fresh skin. Good luck!

So I stumbled upon Acne.org a while back and ordered the large kit with jojoba oil. After about three weeks my skin was better but not where I wanted it to be. I asked a good friend of mine what I should do because he had severe acne and his skin is now clear. He told me to start taking Pantothenic acid. A lot of you on here might have seen posts about it but I swear to you it's working. I've been doing the DK regimen while also taking 10 total grams of pantothenic acid throughout the day. I take it 4 times a day; 8 a.m. Noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. My skin did get a little worse a few days ago; 6 new zits but they only lasted a few days and they're fading quickly.
On a side note, I used to use Proactiv, which is a great product just not enough quantity, and I still had the refining mask (6% sulfur.) Wow, I can't believe I didn't use it sooner! After cleansing, I put a generous amount of sulfur on my face and let it set for about 10-12 minutes. It works wonders on cleaning pores. Then I continued with the BP and moisturizer. Right before I went to bed I put the sulfur on fading zits and some red marks and when I woke up in the morning, my face looked a lot different. The skin around the zits was flaking and the redness had reduced dramatically. I would recommend anyone in need of help with their acne to purchase some sort of 6% sulfur cream. At night you just need a little dab on problem spot/areas and you wash it off in the morning. So while doing Dan's regimen and also using these other products, my skin is clearer, and new zits haven't been coming back. Also, jojoba oil is an absolutely great product. I'm going to moisturize with it more frequently. |
