Has anyone tried the acne products by Aptos Beauty Society?
I hadn't even heard of them before (except the massive lashes). I am curious what people think of them if they have tried them. They sound great, but lots of products sound great. They must be pretty new because I can't find many reviews on them.

See: Acne & Candida, also see small bumps thread
In the blackheads & non-inflamed acne thread. I think I have discovered that MY acne is caused by yeast or fungus. This is apparently in the skin all the time and can grow out of control for a number of reasons. I have a balanced diet and take good supplements, including probiotics, etc. but I get lots of bumps on my jaw line and I get some deep breakouts that never come to a head. I am using a natural topical for fungus (as described in the thread listed above) and I noticed a dramatic difference overnight - this may help others. Check it out!

So I have been looking at this as a possible cause of my problems. I never thought of this before really. I don't know how I missed this with all the research I have done on skin/acne/healing, etc.
I really liked the info on the thread on small bumps; that got me started. So, I am going to try an experiment, starting today. I have this stuff called SkinAid; I really like it but it hasn't totally helped my acne and I sort of stopped using it after a while. My sister-in-law had a really bumpy forehead and she was diagnosed with candida and possibly excema too. I got her to try SkinAid and she really likes it (everything irritates her skin, but not this). I still never thought that I had the same issue because my breakout is different than hers and on the jaw. I assumed it was all hormonal, but it doesn't respond like hormonal acne should. I was so impressed that I also ordered their anti-fungal formula for my husband, who gets jock itch occasionally. He LOVED it and said it was the fastest and easiest thing he had ever used. Now that I have read all about this candida fungus/yeast, I think I will try the anti-fungal version on my face! It is made by alphacura and their website is called skinremedy.com (warning: they have a crazy website that is a bit difficult to navigate, it is poorly designed and all over the place). All their products have herbal ingredients and are gentle. what they say about the fungus one is: QUOTE ...root of a miraculous Asian plant called Bitter Melon, also know as Ku Gua. The root of “Momordica Cochinchine- sis” has been medically proven to be a highly effective anti-fungal remedy... Today is the first time I have tried it on my face. I decided to mix 1/3 Skin Aid and 2/3 FungusRelief in a tiny 1.5 oz attomizer bottle and spray it on my face a few times a day. I will keep you all updated. Wouldn't it be great if it were that easy!?!

Hey just wanted to let you all know that my new favorite exfoliant mask is Jan Marini's SkinZyme, you are supposed to use it with the CleanZyme cleanser (which does make it better, I have tried it with and without). It does work best when the directions are followed.
It is gentle and non-irritating (to me) and really works! I have found that the CleanZyme cleanser lasts longer (amount in bottle) than the SkinZyme mask. The CleanZyme is also great on its own as a cleanser. I started using it on its own when I ran out of the mask. They use green papaya as the main ingredient and I am so impressed by the results. The mask, with cleanser, is good 1-2 times a week. I have been experimenting with the cleanser on its own too, I think it might be a bit much as your regular cleanser all the time. I think I will try the DayZyme moisturizer too. I will keep you all posted on that product when I get it and try it. I think there are brick & mortar places to buy Jan Marini, but I just got mine online at Skinstore.com (but, they don't sell the moisturizer yet, I requested it though), pretty good service and free shipping. But, there are lots of places to get JM products, look around.

The CleanZyme & SkinZyme system from Jan Marini is awesome!
I use it at night and have done it 4 nights in a row for a jump start. I will likely do it about 3x a week from now on. It is a bit spendy, but actually you don't need much per application. It is really subtle at first, just makes the skin smooth and glow a bit. But, after a few days I think it really made a big difference in discoloration and breakouts on my face. I have been using Dan's AHA afterward, either spot treatment or whole face (right before bed). I have also been using a high frequency machine to zap zits (so awesome for cysts). This combo seems to be working nicely for me. The AHA and the HF alone were helping my skin. I have also been using isClinical Active serum regularly (still unsure about this) and I just started using Colorescience Wild to mild under my mineral makeup. When I added the Jan Marini everything seemed to work better! I will have to update my "regimen". FYI - Dan's AHA is so awesome for arms and back too. I don't breakout there (thank goodness), but it really makes the skin smooth and supple - I LOVE it for my arms, and think I may try my legs too! |
