I have had acne for the last ten years. When I was a teen is when I had it the worst, it was very sever, and I was seeing a dermatologist once a week to help me reduce the acne on my face. He would never let me do accutine, and was one of the best in my town, and that is one reason that I have never seen another one. I have tried almost every other medication that you can think of, and nothing really helped. Now that I am older, my acne is almost completely gone, I get about one new one every few weeks, but with my regimen it is gone in about two days. As for my scars, they bother me a little, but not enough to get surgery, I have grown to live with them, my main concern is for the ones on my shoulders and chest to just turn white already.
I have two sisters who are only one year younger then I am, and they had the same problem, when they were about 16 they started getting acne. They went to the same dermatologist as I did, but after one treatment they were cleared. They used some product that you had to get over the counter, and they have not had acne in the last four years. It was hard to cope with because I never was that lucky, and you would figure sense we have the same genes that we would heal from something like this the same way.
It is always hard to see my friends that can never shower or wash their face, and never get a pimple in their lives. I have always had the worse acne out of my group of friends, but came to the conclusion a few years ago that it is my concern, it is my face, and I do not give a shit what other people have to say about it. I have random people ask me why I never tried a certain product, or try to give me advice, but they never had to live with it like I did, so I tend to ignore them and blow them off.
The best advice I can give people is to not stress about a break out because it is only going to make things worse. The more you analyze the worse you are going to think it is, and everyone knows what stress can do to the body. So when/if you continue to break out just ignore it, and continue to treat your face/body/scalp the way you are and they will go away.

I have relized that my face is not sensitive to the medication, and that the higher the percentage is the better it clears up my face. Currently I am using a 10% but was wondering if anyone knows of any thing that is over the counter at a higher percentage
