Hi All
I was just curious as to which sunscreens everyone has found effective in using if you have very oily, sensitive (red) easily irritated, and acne prone skin. I have tried the Neutrogena ones (Age Sheild and Sheer Dry Touch) and they do not agree with me. I put them on my face and it reddens immediately and stays red all day. I have also tried Paula's Choice Ultra Matte and it left my face red also and I became extremely greasy. Thanks everyone

Hi everyone,
So I continue to work on my regimen for this very serious sensitive skin issue I have. On to oil blotting papers. I cannot use toilet paper or tissues because they are too harsh for my face (make it red). I do not want to use Clean & Clear or Neutrogena because they contain Mineral Oil. I also do not want to use any Blotting Paper that contains powder. What are my options? I would love to find something that I do not have to purchase online. I would also like to know if rice paper is very gentle. Cheap is very important too because I will be going thru a lot of these. Thank you everyone for your suggestions

I just started taking Doxy. on Monday and every day my acne keeps getting worse, in fact, the last time I had acne this bad was in my teenage years (many, many years ago).
What the heck is going on? I did not think I would have an IB with antibiotics. Most of it is cystic too and I scar!!! Should I quit?? Oh, one more thing, when I was in Junior High (eons ago) I took Tetracycline for about 3 years and it did not help me at all.

I just wanted to know if anyone had any success in finding this product in stores (etc.).
I really do not want to purchase online. Thanks!!

I used hydroquione on my face (2% Paulas Choice) well over a month ago. I only used it one time. It caused an extremely bad reaction.
The next morning I came to learn that I could not use my cleanser anymore which is very gentle (Olay Foaming Face Wash for Sensitive Skin). My face would burn and itch. So I discontinued washing my face with anything for about 3 weeks and used just water (which did not irritate). I used nothing, no moisturizer, no SPF, no makeup, nothing!! After the 3 week period was up, I tried to re-introduce the Olay and it was a "No Go" Since then I have tried: Dove Cool Moist Cleanser, Euricen Redness Relief, Cetaphil for Normal to Oily Skin, Clinique Mild Soap and Clinique Oily Skin Soap (both in liquid form), Neutrogena Foaming Face Wash, and of course the Olay. All left my skin burning and itchy. I am tired of spending all of the $$ and nothing is helping. My face is "Red Red Red". I have always had extremely Sensitive Skin, but not like this. I was always able to find a cleanser. These are the most gentle cleansers around (except for the Clinique for Oily Skin). I have Paula B's book and I am thinking of going to a cleanser for dry skin. Since I guess it is a belief that if you have sensitive skin, your skin is dry. I just "DO NOT" want to break out. I think also I have somehow lost my moisture barrier in the process, which is confusing since I have extremely oily skin and am afraid to use a moisturizer also. I also have about 7 active cystic acne on my face and I cannot do anything. A few that I did have came to a head. The others have not and are just sitting there and starting to get purple. I have reactions to AHA's (Glycolic Acid), BP, and now Hydroquione. Is there anything that can be recommended to me or something I can do? Thank you for your help. |
