I have noticed an increase in the number of threads asking people to please rate them in attractiveness, and I have also noticed an increase in the number of flippant and mean replies. I would like to remind people that this is "Acne.org" - This is board that provides support for acne sufferers. All acne sufferers. There is no sign on the front page that says "ONLY FOR THOSE WITH REAL/SEVERE/PERSISTENT/WHATEVER ACNE."
It simply says "ACNE.ORG." Some of us do have very mild acne, and as such, "should" not be affected as much as those who have moderate or severe acne. Unfortunatly, human pain, insecurity, fear, and upset isn't limited to what others think we "should" or "shouldn't" feel. I'm sure all of you have run into this in your own life at some point or another and have been frustrated with it yourselves. I know it can get frustrating for some of us to feel like people are fishing for compliments, but let's be honest, why are any of us here to begin with? Because we are having problems with the way we look. All of us. None of us would be here if we weren't at least a little insecure about what is going on with our bodies, and I would ask each of you to please respect that in others and respond with kindness. If you find you are having a bad day (and that's okay, all of us have those, even me) then I would ask you to simply move on to the next thread until you can respond with support and care. We are a community here, and I think a rather damn good one. I'm very proud of the people and the family that we've developed here, and I think that's worth treating with respect. Thank you all for listening and please, keep sharing - we are listening.

Product Website Highlight: Acne.org Posted on October 6th, 2008 By J.W. Crump in Advertising, Usability, Video, Web 2.0 Many product-selling websites include a lot of Web 2.0 tricks to convince the Internet surfer that the product is worth checking out. Heck, even Cheerios has a website which includes a flashy splash intro. Most product sites seem to be nothing more than an excuse to have a site, like a self-fulfilling prophecy of owning a company: "Well, if we have a product, we must have a website!" Certain consumer products have useful and inventive websites, such as this one I recently found: Acne.org. I found this site through a linked video in YouTube. The site contains many of these videos, which is a brilliant idea for free advertisement .... The site is massive in content. From just the home page, a viewer can tell the large amount of information conveyed throughout all of the separate pages. The top menu bar alone contains more than twenty different sections from which to choose, all separated under broader categories. Many of these sections include video demonstrations of the tips and tricks that the web master (and product creator) hopes to teach. These video clips are high quality, short, well-scripted, and have reasonable volume. Other sections of the site take advantage of a multitude of Web 2.0 tools. Members of the site can use the forums to voice their complaints and compliments of all of the different acne products and treatments on the market. Going one step further, members can upload pictures and video, showing their progress to healthy skin. The overall feel of the site is very personal. The blog serves mostly to thank people who contributed to the site and to make announcements about upcoming products and updates. The store section is very thorough and does not pressure the user to purchase. In fact, the site details various over-the-counter substitutions for all of the products found on the site. Finally, the About Me page shows everyone why the creator of the site started the product line, and amazingly, the story comes across honest and thought-provoking. It's a refreshing change of pace from most "why we did this" pages filled with boring, cheesy anecdotes. Any negatives? I found that I couldn't find articles using the search feature as easily as I would have liked (the site needs something more specific than the custom Google search), and certain forums and user-generated content seemed cluttered. At various times, I felt like my senses were being overloaded with the slew of content on every page. However, these small complaints were nothing to detract from the usefulness found on the site. I would love to see more product sites that utilized Web 2.0 tools to both engage and comfort the reader. I personally felt like I learned a lot from the site and was rarely bored with the presentation. Other product sites could learn a lot from this one.

On my way to work, I passed an accident in which they were using the Jaws of Life to pry someone out of the car.
That someone did not much look like they were alive. Time has run out for some poor sob on the side of the road, and I was driving by, seeing the wreckage of a life ended in steel and glass, impaled and twisted into something no longer recognizable as a human being. And as with all things bloody and frightening, it reminds me to tell my loved ones how much they mean to me. You all mean so much to me. I hope you know that. I know it must seem that sometimes this is just an internet board, and that none of us know each other, and that it's only words on a screen. But to me, all of you - older and newer members - mean so much to me. I really do care about you, and I know we really do care about each other. I love you all. Please know that.

So I just saw Dan's video and new section on back acne. http://www.acne.org/back-acne-regimen-light-moderate2.html
I don't have *back* acne but I do have chest acne fairly moderately (more severe than on my face). I treat my chest the same way with the DKR, but it doesn't seem to do the same thing that it does for my face, and I'm looking for a way of treating my chest acne that will clear it up as well as it did for my face. I actually get more self-conscience about the acne on my chest than I do my face, so I'm just wondering if this would be a good thing to try...??

Nothing serious, just wondering if anyone else is noticing that the picture quality seems to be less (I just changed avatars, so that's how I noticed)....
