Pros: It's helped clear my acne up for the most part, i still have some, but it's not as bad as it use to be before taking the drug. Cons: i feel like i have to go anorexic just to take the drug. I take one right when i wake up in the moring, and then take one around some time when i get home from schoool. It's made me not have an appetite anymore, and i've lost a lot of weight. Bottom Line: I've suffered from acne ever since i was in like 4th grade, im not a junior in highschool, and i couldn't take it any longer. I was not graduating with acne all over my face. Pros: It reduced the frequency of pimples, especially those large "underground" ones that hurt. Although I still broke out around "that time of the month." Cons: Outweighed the pros! Made me so sick to my stomach and nauseaus. I had to take it after a hearty meal - and I'm not talking about a salad. I had to eat carbs for me not to feel sick. Also, I gained weight while taking it. Bottom Line: I HATED BEING ON THIS DRUG!! I finally switched dermatologists and my new doctor has me on minocycline. I do not get nauseaus now and it is working. However, I have tried every over the counter wash, scrub, etc. there is. Even used Proactive for a year. I've now been on antibiotics for my acne for two years and am getting very sick of taking pills every day - I also imagine that it can't be very good for my body to take antibiotics every day. Every time I go off the drug my face freaks out. Also, often when I go off the drug I wind up getting sick with cold/flu-like symptoms. I'm seriously considering Accutane to get rid of my acne once and for all but am afraid of the side effects. Recommended: No Usage: Elizabeth has used this item for about a year. Pros: I bought tetracycline from the philippines which work very good for a hundred pack it cost me ten us dollers . Now have no more tetracycline from the philippines and the acne is back so I went to the doctor and got tetracycline it might be generic. Cons: tetracycline did clear my face but the one I purchase in the philippines .my face was glowing it look like I never had acne.It cleared my face in a week also the spots . Yes it does work for me. Bottom Line: Will the purchase of tetracycline from the philippines made a big differents in a day then anything I used, then what I got here in the us which has no results with use. Pros: not sure if there is any at the moment. Cons: you have to wait an hour atleast after taking a pill to eat. taking loong, making acne look worser so far more huge white heads Bottom Line: has made my acne worser so far and didnt work straight away i dont think this works! Pros: Dont know yet Cons: schedule meal time, i am getting some major headaches but not sure if it just using too much computer or actually the pills Bottom Line: Hi, I am a new user of this forum so my apologies for any mistakes. I used to get mild acne close in my teenages..i was not very worried about it because stevamycin worked fine for me..and I only had a couple. Right when i turned 20, I started getting cystic acne. I usually get about 1-2 acne over a week. The top part (pus) of the acne disappears over a day or two but it's leaving a small portion of cyst under my skin which causes a dark-brown scar to appear around that area.I went to a homeopathic doctor at first but it only brought my bank balance down. Right now my family physician has prescribed tetracycline (4pills for 1st week and 2 for the next weeks),clinodoxyl gel over night, Diane-35 (for 21 days even if i get my period on the 18th day).I am using these pills from october 15th, my old cyst have not shrunk and i have not seen any major changes yet.ANYYY COMMENTS ??? i would really appreciate all the help.I DO NOT want 2 go on accutane Recommended: Yes Usage: Alia has used this item for about a week. Pros: NOTICED A DIFFERENCE IN MY SKIN IN ABOUT 1 WEEKS TIME. Cons: MADE ME VERY NAUSEOUS...TIME AROUND MEALS WAS HARD TO KEEP TRACK.. Bottom Line: THIS PILL WORKS BUT WHEN YOU STOP TAKING IT,YOU HAVE TO REALLY TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN AND CONTINUE TO SEE A DERMATOLOGIST BECAUSE THE PROBLEM WILL COME BACK.. Pros: Really helped in about 3 weeks. No new breakouts. No real side effects besides initial breakout. Cons: Initial breakout during first 2 weeks was pretty bad. Had pimples where I never had them. Whiteheads popped up in strange spots on face. And planning around meals is kind of a kick in the head. Bottom Line: First medicine I ever used for acne. Besides initial breakout I would suggest this drug to anyone with mild to moderate acne. Recommended: Yes Usage: Edward has used this item for about a month. Pros: Cheap Cons: Made me dizzy and nausea. Bottom Line: I only could use this medication for 1 week so maybe I did not give it time. But I could not handle the side effects and it actually made my acne worse. I would wake up in the morning with large cycts on my face, especially on the jaw area. I stop using it and brought some benzoyle peroxide and starting cleansing my face with medicated soap. My acne is starting to clear up. I would not recommend Tetracycline because is has to many side effects and it can really mess your system up. Recommended: No Usage: Faith has used this item for about a week. Pros: Ive been taking Tretracycline for 2 weeks now and my skin has looked better than it ever has. I also use a Benzaclin topical gel in mornings and at night and since I began using it I have not had any breakouts. My skin is finally smooth and brillant! Cons: No cons Bottom Line: Ive sufferd from acne for 11 years now. But ive found somethings that works for me, hopefully it will work for you too.
