| Pros: | It didn't have many side effects and seemed to clear SOME pimples. Or maybe it was just my skin clearing by itself. |
| Cons: | Didn't have that much effect on my pimples. |
| Bottom Line: | It didn't really work for me, but it may work for you, so try it out and see if it works.
I used to take 50mg twice a day, and nothing really changed, it didn't alter anything on my face (consistent amount of pimples). |

| Bottom Line: | I was hesitant to take this at all because I know antibiotics aren't that great for your body. I guess I was right to be hesitant because I broke out with nasty cysts throughout the first month using it. My skin was never that bad before I started the doxy. It also causes nausea if you don't take it with food (which some say you shouldn't). I had some pretty bad stomach aches and it also made me extremely dizzy. Seems to work for some people though..maybe it depends on the root cause of acne. |

| Pros: | Seemed to be clearing up my acne. had to stop taking due to wisdom teeth surgery and acne came back. |
| Cons: | can't take it with milk and gave me a metallic taste in my mouth. I've never had this side affect with any other antibiotics. |

Mino gave me severe stomach pain and cramps (coudln't even go to work). I guess some people react to one and others react to the other. |

| Pros: | Absolutly cleaned up my skin both pimples and excema! I have never had a problem with this product as far as tummy pains go and have used it on and off for about 8 years. I use it when nothing else will work and only need a week or so :o) |
| Cons: | No cons that I can think of at all - If you always have a weeks supply on hand for when you skin breaks out your alright! |
| Bottom Line: | Great product its obviously not some miracle cure forever but THE BEST DAM THING I HAVE TRIED and works long term for me, after taking a course my skin is clear for months!
NZ get government subsidy on prescriptions so is only $3 for a 90 day lot (not to be taken consectutivly, break it down for when you need it) |

| Pros: | Improvement began to show within the first two weeks, positive effects lasted for about 10 months, drastically reduced the follicular hyperkeratinization that causes my acne |
| Cons: | sun sensitivity, horrendous nausea if not taken with meals, loses effectiveness eventually |
| Bottom Line: | Because this is an antibiotic, I had anticipated that it would stop working so well after a while...and I was correct (my acne is back in full swing as of one month ago), but for the near year that it worked, I was very impressed. I still had regular breakouts, but the difference it made was vital in restoring my confidence. If only I could count on it to work continuously. I believe I have had my success, but it's time to move on to Accutane! Good luck to doxy-goers; I hope for the best of results and it undoubtedly improved my condition. |

| Pros: | Very inexpensive, after taking 100 mgs per day, I noticed that I didn't have any new pimples which is saying alot! |

| Bottom Line: | I am a 32 year old African American woman. I was diagnosed with PCOS 11 years ago. I have tried everything under the sun both OTC and prescription to no avail. I went to a new dermatologist and she asked all of the right answers. Turns out my acne is hormonal. She put me on YAZ birth control, 100 mg of doxycycline per day, and Benzaclin. My normal daily routine included waking up about 10 minutes earlier than need be just to pop any new pimples that erupted overnight. I have only been using the doctors regimen for 2 days and I haven't had any new pimples. I know for some people that isn't saying much but for me it gives me hope that her method just may work. I have been suffering with acne for 18 years now so I know how hopeless having acne can be. I plan on blogging next Wednesday to give a review of any improvement that I see. |
