Pros Does prevent further breakouts
Cons I have a strange condition of ultradryness in spots where I had applied too much MaMa possibly. No acne there, but the skin is dry, scaly and hyperpigmented. You can definitely overdo it, so don't go too crazy with it.
Bottom line I use this product with caution, as things that are truly effective ALL have should be used carefully. Except for the dry patches on my back, I love this product. It has transformed my skin, and I don't need to use it much at all anymore.

Pros Overall, when drying got manageable (by day 5 or so, at 1x a week) skin looked smooth and fresh
Cons Caused me to have numerous huge cystic acne that I'm still trying to get rid of months later, little white bumps all over where I didn't have acne ever before (cheeks and forehead), incredibly dry flaking skin for days after treating
Bottom line Inititally INCREDIBLY dry skin that flaked no matter how much or which moisturizer I used. Used 1x a week, by day 5 my skin wasn't flaky, but by day 2 after treating had huge eruptions on jaw (which I'd had before) and new cystic acne in places on my face I'd never had before. I thought it was purging and stuck with it for months, but the more often I used it the more I broke out, until my mild acne was worse than it's ever been in my life.

I bought it as a promo from another web site, and was supposed to submit before and after pix and never sent after pix even to get my money reimbursed because I was so embarrassed about how bad my skin looked.

I made the mistake of trying it with a few other new products, and since people RAVED about thsi stuff, I initialy blamed the new acne on the other products, and months later after stopping the others, realized this stuff was the cause.

Pros In my experience this product works very well for acne, aging skin, pigmentation, scars, dry rough feet and elbows etc.
Cons People with acne my break out for a few months at first as the pores, blackheads and pimples come to the surface. If the skin is dry or sensitive or dark use only twice a week at first for a few weeks. Use Lubriderm lotion before MAMA Lotion.
Bottom line This is a great product. The greatest mistake is to go too fast, especially if people have not used a strong AHA or Retinoid before. To avoid irritation apply Lubriderm Lotion before applying MAMA Lotion until the skin gets used to the product. Be patient, it really works if you go SLOW and give it some time.

Pros Cleared up my acne, helped keep away blackheads
Cons didn't really notice pore size going down or fading red marks left over from previous acne
Bottom line I've read about people saying red marks have faded, pore size is minimized and texture has evened out. I haven't really noticed any significant difference in my skin in any of those areas using Mama Lotion.

What I DID notice, however, is that it has been very effective in keeping my skin mostly acne free and helping to keep away the blackheads on my nose. For me, that's more than enough. After trying loads and loads of products and having none of them be extremely effective at keeping my skin acne free, to have clear skin for this long (about 3-4 months) for the first time in years is amazing.
I've also started using mineral makeup and Neutrogena clear skin tint, which I think also helps in not clogging the pores and working to keep skin renuewal up.
My skin isn't sensetive, and I've never had too many problems with other kinds of acne clearing formulas (other than them not working very well). But people with sensetive skin might want to be cautious about increasing

Bottom line I have been using MaMa Lotion for over a year. My acne started cleazring afer a few weeks and I haven had any major outbreaks since starting. I have also noted benefit in my pore size and a general brightness to my skin! I had been having it shipped to Canada from the US for the past year but now see that it is available in Canada from http://mamalotion.ca This has really saved on shipping.

Bottom line I gave it a good 6 weeks. It slightly improved breakouts, but after week 1 it left me with tiny bumps (purging?) all over my forehead until I stopped using it last week. It did not do anything for my hyperpigmentation marks at all. I peeled and peeled and kept hoping they would fade, but they did not. I think it may work for some skin types but not others (I have sensitive, oily, acne-prone hormonal skin!). I was also nervous about it because I read that polyacrylamide (one of the main ingredients) is carcinogenic.

After what seems like the perpetual pursuit for the perfect acne panacea (that illiteration was unintentional - I promise!), I finally feel like I have come as close as I ever will. This product is great. Initially, I noticed results within a week, and have had to cut back to using it only once a week, because it has left my skin somewhat dry, which is a nice change, because it was always oily before MaMa.

This stuff is a miracle.. within 2 days of using it, my face feels so smooth and my mom even complimented my face and how the red marks and uneveness are finally evening out and fading. I can tell a difference too! I didn't leave the house for weeks before getting this stuff, and already within 3 days, I've been out more than I have within the past month. Here's to hoping it will completely dissolve the rest of the mess on my skin by next Friday so I can go to the club! teehee..
