I've been applying lemon juice on the most acne-prone spots on my face for the past 3 weeks and it has made a world of difference! This has worked better than every other acne medication I've tried (except Accutane, which eventually cleared up my entire face, but then my acne came back 3 years later). Since I don't want to deal with the side effects of Accutane again, I've been trying everything and am so happy I decided to try this. My face isn't 100% clear (although it keeps getting better, so maybe it will be eventually) but is much, much better than it was before I started using lemon juice. I usually apply it in the morning after washing my face, leave it on for about an hour, then rinse it off and apply moisturizer. I'm very happy with the results so far.

Pros

  • clears up existing and forming acne
  • reduced redness after first application
  • looks like it's helping heal scars faster too

Cons

  • dries sticky so I wash it off before going out
  • moderately severe
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 0.1
  • I recommend using this treatment.

had been using acv beforehand with pretty good results. heard that lemons might be even more effective. turns out that these might be a step too for my skin at the moment. I only used it a couple of times but after the second time my skin felt severely dry and irritated for about 3 days, now paying for it with cysts coming up.

i would recommend this if your skin can handle it. maybe only use it once or twice a week, because it is effectively an acid peel

Pros

  • feels fresh on the skin
  • didn't really sting for me

Cons

  • dried my skin up so that it felt tight, even with moisturiser
  • cysts forming underneath layers of dead skin
  • moderate
  • for a day or two
  • $ 1
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.

This is a very cheap and very effective way to help eliminate acne. I usually slice the lemon and rub it on my face for 30 minutes before rinsing it off and applying a moisturizer. This is less irritating for me than apple cider vinegar, but burns much more. If you can put up with the burn it will help a lot. It burns less with subsequent use if you use it regularly. I do not use it as much as I should only because I do not always have time to let it sit on my face for 30 minutes, seeing as I work and go to school full time.

Pros

  • Visibly reduced acne with each use
  • smaller pores
  • evened skin tone
  • reduced blackheads

Cons

  • Burns like crazy!
  • Takes time
  • moderate
  • for a few months
  • $ 5
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I've only been usuing lemon juice for 2 days and there has been an improvment on my face, th spots arent as red. and my skin is smooth.. i have sensitive skin and it hasnt irratated it yet, (not saying it wont for anyone else with sensitive skin).. I leave it on over night & all fay if i am not going out and re-apply throughout the day.. it smells good and does work, I reccomend people to give it a go! Although dont put it on open popped spots as that would probably sting unbelivably .. and if you become irritated wash off immediately, could make skin worse.. or mix with some sugar to create a sugar scrub exfoliator, natural remedys are the best!

Pros

  • Smells nice
  • Easy
  • Cheap

Cons

  • Stings a little
  • Sticky on face
  • light
  • $ 0.5
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I think the reason this didn't work for me was because I have very sensitive skin. When I started to rub some lemon juice on to the red scars, I started to feel small spots forming on the scars and my skin would get a bit dry.

Although this product is known for reducing redness, I do not recommend this product for those with sensitive skin like me.

Pros

  • It smells good
  • Easy to apply with cotton wool

Cons

  • Didn't see any improvements
  • Didn't help redness or spot size
  • Stings
  • NOT good for sensitive skin!
  • moderately severe
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 2
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.

So I've been on Accutane and my face was finally starting to clear up, then I got mono and my doctor took me off Accutane and put me on steroids for a week right before school! I broke out TERRIBLY, and I was so pissed that I suffered through a summer of Accutane only to have worst skin by the start of school. I started drinking about a shot of lemon juice in the morning and at night yesterday as well as applying it on my face twice a day. So far the results have been great and have stopped my break out from getting worse and has also taken away some of the redness from the 4 big pimples I now have on my cheeks. I have one more day before school starts so I'm hoping it will continue to make my acne go away! So far so good :)

Pros

  • Evened complexion a bit
  • Reduced pimple size

Cons

  • If you drink it as well it can cause tooth decay if you don't drink it right!
  • moderate
  • for a day or two
  • $ 2
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I'm 23 years old girl, I'm asian and have white skin

I've started retin-a about 9 months ago, and after 6 months, i cleared up my dace. But the thing with retin-a is it does not give my face the glow that i really want.

so i decided to try lemon juice.

Here's my routine, after shower, i usually put aloe vera gel ( fresh from plants) and let it dry, and then i put the mixture of lemon juice with aloe vera gel (again just a little bit) as a toner. Lately i've been drinking lemon juice in the morning

Lemon juice overall gives whitening effext to my skin, and my skin has this nice glow. I eally like lemon juice, because it's natural and cheap, and has the same effect as whitening cosmetics, if not more effective.

I recomend try using lemon juice, topically and as a drink, (drinking it will gave you glow and stamina boost), there's no harm in trying anyway

Pros

  • Whitening skin
  • smaller pores
  • gives glow

Cons

  • stings a bit
  • light
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 0.6
  • I recommend using this treatment.
