Pros A natural product
Smells nice
No new acne since I began using it
Inexpensive
Cons Didn't 'cure' my rosacea like I had hoped
Bottom line I wash my face morning and night with a well-known mild liquid cleanser followed by freshly squeezed lemon juice on a cotton ball. I have been using this method for almost 6 months and I have had no new acne.
My skin is smoother and more even-toned. It has improved my rosacea redness somewhat, but not cured it. I am a 32 year-old female and I have tried MANY products over the years. This method works best for me.
My skin is combination dry/oily. This method may be too harsh if your skin is very dry.

TIPS: Add some of the extra lemon juice to a glass of water, or you can store the freshly squeezed lemon juice in a small glass jar. It keeps for a couple of days. I've also heard it helps your skin to drink the lemon juice. I tried this, but found it too bitter-tasting to do long-term.
Acne severity moderately severe

Pros - Faded Scars
Bottom line I was getting really frustrated with getting new acne all the time right next to the scars of a breakout from months ago. Nothing would fade them, and I was getting desperate so I tried lemon juice. When I woke up after the first night I put it on my skin I was pleasantly suprised. They already looked less red and less noticable. Lemon juice is one of my best friends. It doesn't help get rid of my acne but it works amazing with scars.

Pros Works wonderfully as an astringent
Great at "eating up" facial oil (for those with oily skin)
Cons Stings a bit
Bottom line Please only use this when you are not using retinoids or all these other acne topicals, like Finacea, Avage, Epiduo, Cleocin T, Benzaclin, Benzomycin, anything with Benzoyl Peroxide as a matter of fact...actually, anything based in alcohol. Your skin may be reactive to these chemicals mixing with those of the lemon and it may cause an allergic reaction, which will probably cause more acne bumps (cysts, nodules, papules, postules etc). Try letting your face rest from all these harsh chemicals for 2 or 3 days and then try rubbing lemon juice on your face.

This stuff is WONDERFULLY as an astringent. It stings a bit but it cleans out those pores and leaves one's face dry, which is great for those with oily skin. If you have naturally dry skin (or chemically dry skin aka skin which is stripped of essential oils due to acne topicals), I would not recommend you use this.

My acne was once severe but now I have no acne at all.

Pros Cheap
Easy to get hold of
Smells lovely
Natural
Didn't make my acne worse
Cons Made my face itchy
Burn abit
Didn't see any changes to acne or scars
Very drying
Bottom line I would recommend this because the fact that its natural and cheap and very easy to get hold of and its worth a try if your desparate (like me).

My own experience with it wasn't so good but just because of my own experience doesn't mean on others it won't work.

My skin is sensitive and I guess the lemon acid my face can't handle. It stings and burns alot for me and my face goes red so definately a irratation on my skin. I used it once- twice a week for a month just to see if it would help even though it stung my face. Nothing happened so it wasn't really that great, good thing was that it didnt make my acne worse.

Pros Smoother, less oily skin
Helps with & prevents acne
Fades scars
The subtle smell of lemon
Cons Some initial irritation
Bottom line Lemons couldn't be any more cost-efficiently.

I never got to the point to actually give any of the expensive remedies a try simply because of the trouble involved - but I've been no less motivated to cure or at least better my acne.

At this point of time I've applied lemon juice to my face and slept with it on for about a week, and though its effects are not instantaneous it's worked wonders so far (relative to the money and effort put into it).

It's not necessarily the cure for acne, but if you stick with it you'll notice improvement. As for me, I've got a long way to go still, but I've got the fridge racked up with this yellow fruit.

Pros cleared up my acne
inexpensive
smells good
made acne scars dissapear
shrunk my pores
blackheads dissapeared
Cons itches the first few minutes
lightened my skin (some people might like this but, I'm already really pale)
Bottom line using lemmon as a way to clear acne is really smart and efficient way to clear acne. I just cut the lemon into slices and then rub the slice all over my face. Wash it off few minutes later. It leaves your skin feeling soft and will clear up the acne in no time (alond with scars and blackheads)

It did lighten my skin which i didn't like too much since i'm already so pale but, if you don't mind the fact that it lightens skin then go ahead and try it.

Bottom line- its a great way to clear up acne and scars.

Pros Helped with the redness & irritation of my acne.
Cons Dried out non-acne areas.
Bottom line I would definitely recommend this. BUT; only apply to areas that are sever/moderately covered in acne. I used it all over my face, and it dried out the non-acne areas.

Pros Exfoliated skin well. (if used with sugar)
Cheap.
Cons Stings.
Redness.
Bleaches your skin (could be pro for you).
Didn't get rid of acne at all.
Bottom line I used this for about 2 weeks and I had to stop even though it exfoliated my skin well and was cheap, it stung my skin and I had alot of reddness. It bleached my skin and didn't get rid of acne and all.

Pros Did whiten my complexion ^^
Dried up some of my acne, but not all.
Faded a little of my scars and spots
Cons Will flow down to your whole face and sting clean areas.
Didn't reduce much of my redness, still e same. ><
Bottom line Used it last night and this morning. So, in total twice.
My method, i squeeze the Lemon Juice and make it into ice cubes.
So when i apply it on my face is much much more easier, and convenient too.
I have oily and acne-prone skin so i think lemon won't be too harsh on my face.
:)
By the way, i'm now using Cleanz Plus Anti-Bacterial facial form (by skin doctor) & a weekly Simple, Oil balancing exfoliating wash, is it good ?

Pros Brightens Complexion
Reduces Redness
Reduces Acne and Bumps
Feels Good
Natural!!!!!!!
Cons Itches at first
Bottom line Try this!!!!!! I was skeptical but my dad urged me to try it before I visited the Dr. who would most likely prescribe antibiotics or some dreadful chemicals. It itched sooooo much the first time i tried it and i was desperate to wash it off but i kept going and now i hardly notice the itchiness. Just cut a thin slice of lemon and rub it onto your face and leave it on for around 10 minutes and you'll notice the difference to your skin in days. I feel so much more confident now and don't feel the need to cake my face with makeup!
