| Pros | Clears scars Prevents breakouts and treats current pimples Softens and brightens skin Easy to use |
|---|---|
| Cons | Stings upon first few uses (Personally, I found my skin had developed a 'resistance' to it, and I can now apply even more) Takes time |
| Bottom line | I have been applying store-bought pure lemon juice to my face every night after I shower for around three weeks, and I am beginning to notice the results. Method: Before starting, ensure the pores on your face are open. This is done by either having a warm shower or applying warm water to your face. Make sure you pat dry your wet face. 1. Put 10 - 20 drops of lemon juice in to a small bowl, depending on how much of the stinging sensation your skin can handle. (Your skin may be able to develop a resistance as you consistently apply lemon juice, which will allow you to use even more.) 2. Absorb the lemon juice with a cotton ball, and gently rub on ONE side of your face. 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other side of your face (don't use the same cotton ball). Let it dry and leave it overnight. 4. Wash it off with cool water in the morning. While it works instantly for some people, I did have to wait a short while for my skin to finally show the results of applying lemon juice to my face. My skin is clearer, the acne scars are beginning to fade, my skin has a faint glow and feels tighter. |

| Pros | reduces redness softens skin fades acne scars decreases sizes of pimples/red spots |
|---|---|
| Cons | stings a litte |
| Bottom line | I have very sensitive skin and scar terribly easily. I also stress about way too many things and sweat easily in my face and probably don't get enough sleep being a college student. All these factors adding up don't make for the most beautiful skin. I am Greek and Irish so have pretty light olive colored skin naturally when I haven't gotten any sun and so any little pimple or scar is very obvious and red and leaves me not feeling comfortable going anywhere without swiping some powder on to even out my skin tone and hide the various acne scars. I was determined to take the natural route with skincare before investing into another product and wasting my time and money. I came across this page when searching for "acne scar removal" and rushed to store last night to buy a lemon. After reading all your guys' posts about different ways to go about with the lemon I decided to try using it as a toner right before bed and let it set while I slept. A feeling of excitement and hope came over me this morning when I looked in the mirror and noticed the 3 red spots i have recently acquired from irritated pimples have decreased in size and redness significantly for only one night! And oh my did my face feel baby but smooth as I used a gentle cleanser in the shower this morning! I will give more feedback after a week or two of testing this out! Does anyone have suggestions on how often I should use the lemon toner? Is once a night before bed good or should I try more often? I don't want to dry my skin out. And thank you to everyone who posted on here! You have no idea much my confidence is going up just knowing there is a good chance this will really work with a little more time! I never have had something take over my life like my skin problems I just want to be able to go to the gym, go swimming or be running late to class and not feel like I HAVE to apply foundation in order to feel comfortable in my own skin! |

| Pros | works! smells nice! |
|---|---|
| Cons | stings until it dries... |
| Bottom line | I use lemon juice as a toner after cleansing in the morning and I use diluted AVC at night. It works great. I can feel that it helps to maintain a good pH level and I also feel less breakouts forming... You must be patient though! I have been applying this for 2 months now! Hang in there and don't give up! |

| Pros | reduces the size of pimples |
|---|---|
| Cons | stings a lot can be very harsh |
| Bottom line | I decided to try lemon as my first attempt at a natural remedy, and found it to be very harsh. I woke up and the pimples were much better, but my skin began to flake even though I diluted the lemon and moisturized after. For me, I found a mask of baking soda and lemon to be a better combination for my skin (which is oily and prone to white heads). After reading a lot of reviews on here, I was actually afraid to try it but I'm so glad I did! I have periods where my acne can get really bad and this cleared it right up. I've been using a mask for about a week now and I am very happy with the results. I put olive oil on my scars to soften them for about 5 minutes. Then, I take a wet wash cloth and heat it up as hot as I can stand it (for me, about 45 secs in the microwave) and put it on my face until it becomes cool to open my pores. I like to put baking soda in a small bowl, add a few drops of fresh lemon juice (note, if your skin is very sensitive you may want to forego the lemon) and then add water until it's a little softer than a toothpaste consistency. I put it on my face for a minimum of 10 minutes and then wash it off. The hardened baking soda exfoliates your skin as you wash it off. Make sure you moisturize a lot afterwards and that's it. Note: when the mask hardens it can begin to flake so be aware of your facial expressions! Worked much better for me. |

| Pros | Stopped active pimples Faded scars Works after first use! You will not flake Natural Cheap! |
|---|---|
| Cons | Kinda drying but no where near as bad as other medications (There is no flaking no worries) |
| Bottom line | What else can I say besides it worked? Honestly! What I did is a little different though. I mixed lemon juice and sugar to make a kind of exfoliant and i gently massaged it on my face. The next morning, WOW. Active pimples were shrinking, acne scars were fading. It's like a miracle product! It worked better for my scars in one day than my Retin-A did in like 3 weeks. It's really worth it! Try this before you decide to take a trip to the dermatologist! |

| Pros | - Smooths texture - Exfoliates w/o abrasives - Vitamin C - Softer skin - Brighter skin - Tightens pores - Shrinks pimples over time - CHEAP |
|---|---|
| Cons | There's no cons for me. |
| Bottom line | A fresh chunk of lemon is the miracle cure for my occasional chest and back acne. Clears it up in a matter of a DAY OR TWO. It works wonders on my face. It will sting for the first few applications, but once your face has worked up an immunity to the sting, it's fine. |

| Pros | IT WORKS & ITS CHEAP!!! seriously your skin feels brighter and tighter and really clean. |
|---|---|
| Cons | it can sting a little. have to give it minute to work its magic. |
| Bottom line | try it. its like $0.38 so its not as though your wasting your money!!! I do my normal routine wash my face with a cleanser then cut a small piece of a fresh lemon and squeeze a little on a cotton ball and gently rub it on my face. I usually let it stay on my face for 5-10 minutes. its gonna feel a little sticky, but once you rinse it off with cool water all you end up feeling is refreshed. Its important to put a moisturizer on afterward. im someone who has sensitive skin and is allergic to a lot, but the lemon did nothing but help me. |

| Pros | Natural (No unknown chemicals mixed in it that may cause skin cancer that most treatments for acne scars have these days) Lightens skin in a short period of time |
|---|---|
| Cons | Stings like a b*tch! Seriously, I really felt the juice burn my face although it only lasts a couple of minutes upon application. It's all well worth it though! |
| Bottom line | I was skeptical. But now? I'm glad I tried this! I have naturally tanned skin (not too dark though, but more of a "light" brown). So when I get pimples/acne, the redness isn't as obvious as others who have a lighter complexion. And when they heal, I don't get red spots left over either but they instantly turn a dark brown, sometimes almost a dark gray. So although I get acne from time to time (usually when it's almost that "time of the month"), my main problem is actually the scars. Thus, the lemon. I tried this exactly 6 days ago. I was pleasantly surprised. It's no miracle of course. My scars didn't fade overnight (like some reviewers here have claimed). I use the lemon juice (squeezing a thick lemon slice and putting the rest in the fridge for another day's use) and squeeze all the juice into a cup. I use the juice directly on my cheeks with a cotton ball where most of my scars are and a portion of my neck which has a dark area (although I have no idea why that area is slightly darker) without diluting it (I assume my skin could handle the natural remedy after years of using other random chemicals). After the stinging from hell, I leave it on until the next time I have to wash my face, which is at night and do the same process again. I used the lemon juice as a toner by the way (after I cleanse: morning and night, and exfoliate: every other day). So after I cleansed a few minutes ago, I faced the mirror if I could see any noticeable results from the lemon juice. My face has been softer and firmer since initial use. The scars on my cheeks have lightened slightly (or maybe that's just my optimism). But my neck however, has gotten considerably lighter! Not just the patch of darker skin but the surrounding skin that was hit by the lemon is lighter too! It may look weird but I was happy the lemon actually worked! I just hope my cheeks would get as light as my neck did as well. I'll be sure to review again after 2 weeks of use. |
