| Pros | Significantly reduced acne Toned texture of skin pigmentation Cleaned up my skin drastically |
|---|---|
| Cons | Irritates skin if not hydrated with Bio-Oil (oil) |
| Bottom line | NIGHT: After washing my face with a mild face wash, I pat dry. I then squeeze lemon juice onto the palm of my hands/cotton and rub it onto my face and let it dry. I do this a few times to make sure it gets into the infected acne areas. To make sure my skin does not become irritated, I put 3-5 drops of Bio-Oil(helps scars, uneven skin tone, aging skin, DEHYDRATED skin) into the palm of my hands and rub it onto my face. Leave on overnight. MORNING: I wash my face with mild face wash & pat dry. I put 3 drops of Bio-Oil(helps scars, ) into the palm of my hands and rub it onto my face. 5 mins later, I put on SPF 55 sunscreen, and mineral based make-up, if necessary. This combination and routine has worked wonders. My skin is so soft and drastically improving. I have spent so much money on acne products and nothing has worked as efficient as this. I hope this works for you, Good luck!!! Thanks to this web forum :) |

| Pros | reduces hyperpigmentation shrinks pores gets rid of new pimples cheap and natural |
|---|---|
| Cons | made my face red made my skin sensitive to the sun |
| Bottom line | I have been applying lime juice (I am in Colombia and cant find lemons) to my face for 3 days and the red spots on my cheek have improved significantly. My face has gotten really sensitive to sunlight though, so I would recommend using the juice at night. I put the juice of a quarter of a lime on my face, wait 15 minutes, and then rinse it off. Then I use cetaphil cleanser, acne.org bp, and cetaphil lotion. My pores are also smaller now. |

| Pros | Smooths skin Clears up acne Helps with oiliness Fades scars and dark spots Brightens skin Works wonders! |
|---|---|
| Cons | None, aside from the point that many reviewers make that it may make your skin more sensitive to the sun... but at least it makes me remember to use my SPF moisturizer! |
| Bottom line | Really effective, inexpensive, and easy to use. I first used it last winter and saw a remarkable improvement, but then I got out of the habit. I have recently gotten back to using it each day -- like a toner, a bit on a cotton ball after I shower -- and it really improves everything about my skin, even existing acne. I have mostly hormonal acne (on my chin, and I know you understand that, ladies!), and it even helps with that. I don't have any need to wash it off, since I use freshly squeezed lemon juice that's gone through a sieve to remove pits and pith. I just put it on, let it dry, and use my moisturizer... which is Olay beauty with SPF, nothing fancy. You can even use a slice of lemon in a pinch, and sort of swab it across your face as you would a cotton pad. It's worth a try since it's so cheap and easy! |

| Pros | Brightens skin More even tone Lightens spots and helps with hyperpigmentation Cheep Natural Can easily be mixed with other ingredients |
|---|---|
| Cons | Can cause over-drying if used straight or if left on too long |
| Bottom line | Lemon juice is a great, natural way to combat acne and scarring. I prefer to add the juice of 1/4 lemon to equal parts organic honey and sugar (about 2 TBS each) for a refreshing scrub. Sometimes I do a quick treatment in the shower; other times, I leave it on longer as a mask (30mins-1 hour). It does work best when left on for a while. Just make sure to put your hair up/back because it is sticky/messy. Wash of with warm water. The lemon juice tightens pores and brightens skin. The honey moisturizes and helps heal your skin. The sugar acts as a great exfoliant. My skin can tolerate both white and brown sugars. For those who have very sensitive skin, brown sugar would probably be best - since the granules are finer/less abrasive. Keep in mind, too, that the lemon is very acidic and does penetrate skin - so be extra gentle until you know how your skin will respond. |

| Pros | Within a week, i can notice that it dried out existing acnes, post-acne marks slowly fading (not completely but i can see the difference after using it), and makes my skin smooth. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Stinging sensation is to be expected; I think different ppl have different tolerance towards the stinging or "burn". Ive practically used everything there is in attempts to treat acne before, so putting 100% lemon juice (undiluted) didn't burn my face. Just to be safe, slowly start with diluted lemon juice for your first trial. |
| Bottom line | Tried this for about a week and i can say that i have a good feeling about this. I'm not expecting my face to be completely acne-free and scar-free, but one week trial with lemon has given me hope. I'm gonna keep doing this and hope it will be the cure that i've been waiting for! All the best to everyone! |

| Pros | helps my moderately severe acne quite a bit (doesn't get rid of it, but definitely makes a differences) |
|---|---|
| Cons | messy, can sting |
| Bottom line | When I used this with olive oil, i eventually started breaking out. But a few drops of lemon juice on its own or w/ aloe vera has helped. Can't wear it out because of sun-sensitizing potential (or at least, I don't recommend it). I don't like to leave it on, even at night, because it's sticky, so I just use it as a pre-wash treatment. |

| Pros | Cures acne Lightens and removes scars Smells nice |
|---|---|
| Cons | Does not stop outbreaks May "burn" a little, if not diluted |
| Bottom line | I've fought with mild to moderate acne for years now. But thanks to this natural remedy my acne is almost completely gone. My skin is smooth to the touch and only some very light blemishes is all what's left. Here you can look at my progress: [link removed] used a special procedure, though, which is a bit too detailed and too long for this review, so if you want to know everything, feel free to email me: john.brandon55@[link removed] |

| Pros | lightens acne marks it looks like! smells fresh didn't make my face red my skin tone looks more even and some of my marks look faded I don't think it made me break out |
|---|---|
| Cons | stings and itches for some minutes after applying, which is quite annoying doesn't get rid of active acne, at least not in my case |
| Bottom line | I'm very pleased with the results so far, however I've only used it for a week. My skin tone looks more even and my acne marks (I don't have that much active acne anymore) look like they are fading. But it could be a placebo effect :P It didn't break me out, I did however get about 4 new pimples when I just started using it, but I think that was just a coincidence because I was almost on my period, and when I'm having a period I always get new acne because of hormonal changes. So the new pimples probably weren't caused by the lemon juice. I continued using the lemon juice and I didn't get any new pimples this far. If you have a small paper cut in your fingers then you have to be careful! It hurts a lot if lemon juice gets in it! I first wash my face with a cleanser in the morning. Having done that, I apply the lemon juice (freshly squeezed from a lemon) on my face. After 30 minutes I wash it off with luke warm water and then I apply it again and let it on for the whole day. I wash it off again in the evening before I go to bed. at night I use Sudocrem on my face, which makes my face feel very soft and does seem to help with active acne. I'll post an update when I've used it for a longer period |

| Pros | *Great results within a week or so, depending on your acne. * Removes acne marks with discoloration of skin. *Stops new spots from forming. |
|---|---|
| Cons | *Stings a little but you get use to it after a few goes. *Makes the skin a little rough but that can be cured with olive oil. |
| Bottom line | This is the best thing i have ever done for my face, serially people if you have acne, put a small amount of fresh lemon juice on your face before going to sleep, its the best thing you will ever do. If you develop rough skin then use olive oil in conjunction with lemon juice. |
