Pros dont know
Cons all im going to say is dont take your natural skin for granted... be happy with your skin. the dermatologist will manipulate you like a car salesman.
Bottom line my skin tone was great. i am a korean american and my skin tone brightened up my day feeling refresh. but i had a laser treatment because of my minor scars. now that my skin tone has changed to a brownish color, i am very displeased with the outcome. dermatologist are very deceiving and can be very manipulative. i try not to over generalize all the dermatologist but in a large percentage of them are trying to make money. my dermatologist did not tell me the risk of discoloration and hypopigmentation. i am very upset and regretting how stupid i was to take my skin for granted. i seriously dont know what to do now. i am very disappointed.
Price paid $150.00

Pros I had the full face co2 laser resurfacing 3 weeks ago. My face looks great! No more fine lines, you could hardly notice a deep wrinkles, the whole face looks like I've done a face lift
Cons Readness and itching. A small scar, as a spot, I hope it fades away.
Bottom line 2 friends of mine did Erbium and Fraxel laser. My face looks much better! But recovery time is longer, and it hurts more.
Price paid $2.80

Pros I had the co2 laser done right after they finished my face lift. Deep wrinkles are gone but you can still see where the wrinkle line was.
Cons The redness and itching. One eye has the dark circle problem. My chin area looks very burned. I now at 3 weeks. They do have medication to apply to the area to bleach out the skin. I'm now trying that.
Bottom line I would have requested the doctor to be less agressive. If the redness ever goes away or can be easily covered with make up then I would do it again. Or maybe first tried a wrinkle filler before doing the laser. The pictures that they show never look any thing like you end up looking!
Price paid $3,500.00

Pros Brown age spots are much lighter.
Cons Expensive. Texture of skin looks worse. Crepe paper. New wrinkles around mouth and eyes that weren't there before.
Bottom line Paid for 4 treatments for a total of $3400. I've done two, and I don't think I'm going to finish the other two, because I think it's making the wrinkles and texture of skin worse.
Price paid $3,400.00

Pros CO2: improved skin texture, some reduction of scars
Fraxel: no downtime, smoother skin, small pores
Cons CO2:recovery time, persistent redness lasting six months CO2 cost 2,350
Fraxel:need to repeat many times, 3 to four days downtime per treatment fraxel cost 800 ea.
Bottom line I had CO2 resurfacing in 1998. I have dark hair and eyes with olive complextion. I noticed some lightening around the mouth.I have tighter smoother skin then before. The acne scarring was improved approximately 35%.
Skip ahead to 2007 I have had 4 fraxel treatments so far and I am seeing improved skin texture and reduction in pore size, scar improvement probably 15% to date. I will have 2 more fraxel treatments then decide whether to do CO2 again or the erbium yag laser.
I would recommend researching and finding a board certified plastic surgeon with hospital privledges who specializes in laser procedures. For me the CO2 laser has shown the most improvement. The downtime of 17 days and months of redness was worth it for the best results of the two procedures. I was told I would probably need to repeat the procedure 1 or 2 more times to eliminate most of the scarring.

Pros Smooths the skin only minor redness and swelling.
Cons Some swelling for about 2 days.Dry skin for a few days.
Bottom line Definitely worth the discomfort.I had a procedure called 1540 done at United Laser Clinic in Woodridge,il.I've had severe acne scars and now am wrinkling since I'm in my 40's.I can't believe after only one treatment.I am so much smoother and they didn't even tell me I would be.It does look nicer every day and I can't wait til Im done! You only need 4 and it feels like a sunburn after,no biggy.
Price paid $1,598.00

Pros I didn't have any Pros with PSR3
Cons I have scaring in three different areas that I didn't have before and also really bad hyperpigmentation, my face looks worse now then it did before I had it, it's been over a month.
Bottom line I would not recommend PSR3, the recovery time is longer then they tell you, I work from home but if I had a 8 to 5 job I probably would have lost it...I could not wear makeup for at least three almost four weeks. It's now been over a month and I have three places that are scared and VERY bad hyperpigmentation. I'm only 32 years old I don't think the Dr. should have recommended this for me to begin with. My face looks horrible, I have to wear Dermablend makeup to cover the brown spots. And on top of the price below I've spent almost $500 on prescriptions because five places got infected.
Price paid $5,250.00

Pros Some shallow acne scars looks better, but some deep scars are still there.Laser also diminished my pores.
Cons expensive, terrible redness occured and hyperpigmentation.Luckilly hydrokinolone helped me to get rid of it.
Bottom line I had cystic acne and there were many different kind of scars on my cheeks.I went for co2 laser treatment.I think the improvment is only 25%-30%, because laser shallowed some scars quite well, but my deepest scars are sill there like before and it makes me so unhappy.
Price paid $800.00
