I had laser resurfacing a couple years ago and now feel more desperate than ever. I feel upset about my large pores still.

Thank you all so much for takimg the time to do this. I was considering looking into CO2 laser treatments for my hole-like acne scars, but now I will probably just continue to live with them.I'm close enough to wrinkels setting in anyways! (27) The thing I don't like is that I can't even cover them w/ make-up. Anyone find any good make-up?

i had three treatments of CO2 laser back in 2001. i noticed a slight reduction in the redness of my scars which is now resurfacing years later. adding insult to injury, might i add that for six months, my face was beet red and swollen; my pores were enlarged and , my skin was still oily. highly overrated as an effective means of deep scar treatment. subtle results at best...substantial loss of time and money at worst

I had about 6 treatments of laser combined with micro-dermabrasion and didnt help at all. My scars are still the same although it did help with the redness part- but for acne scarring-dont try this method. :(

Not only did the operation do nothing to improve the acne scars, but it left me with more scars than I had before.

More precise ablation than Dermabrasion with fewer adverse side effects ONLY in expert hands. May improve shallow scars. Useful to flatten down punch elevation of deep scars. Spot treatments may result in treated area being lower than surrounding skin. Not recommended as a stand alone treatment.

Laser surgery did nothing, zero, nada, to help diminish my slight to moderate acne scarring. It did make my complexion look great for a few years. But it should never be hyped as a viable treatment for acne scarring.

I had CO2 laser done in 1997, big mistake. This laser left me lobster red for months, enlarged my pores, left me with some rolling scars and a lighter wallet. It did absolutely NOTHING for my remaining scars. Boo.

There are many different types of laser treatments but they all fall into two groups: the ablative and nonablative lasers. The ablative lasers include the CO2 and others that remove layers of skin through heat and light. The nonablative lasers like the pulse dye do no perforate the skin and allow the skin to heal without a visible wound. Treatments are expensive. Choose a dermatologist rather than a plastic surgeon who has special training and extensive experience with lasers (Board Certified is not enough).
