Photodynamic Therapy: 3 sessions = $1500.00 CDN. Can't say it worked and was certainly not worth the expense and suffering that I endured after treatment. I am now going to try Fraxil ... wish me luck (as I wish you!).

Only just got my CO2 treatment 3 days ago and it is agony, having to soak my face every 1-2 hours and reapply vaseline but beginning to noticeit is not getting as crusty and weaping as much now. Is very red but still managed to go to work. I had to wait 4 years on the NHS for this so hope I will notice a difference. Can't wait to be able to put make up onto hide the redness, hopefully will be able to do that by this weekend and go out as staying in this weekend nearly killed me. Will keep you updated!

I had a lot of stuff done to treat my acne scars. I have a couple that are deep, some that are not so deep, and lots of tiny pits on my cheeks. I have to say that all of the microdermabrasion and non-ablative lasers didn't really help. And, I believe that Accutane made my scars worse to begin with my cutting out all of the oil in my skin. In addition, I had an Erbium resurfacing which gave me a healthy glow, but it did not do much for my scars. In fact, I believe it made some of them worse. If I had it to do over again, I would have just left my face alone. My body was probably best equipped to handle the healing process. Also, I would have just let my acne heal on it's on as well. I have very sensitive skin; and many of the things I was given to heal my acne made it get worse. NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS, THIS IS NOT A GOOD THING. If your acne gets worse, then whatever your using doesn't work!!!!!! I would have to say that I think that many of the SO CALLED treatments for acne scarring are just a lot of CRAP. Save your money, and accept your imperfections. Don't do anything which could make them worse!!!! The only thing that can really get rid of a depressed scar is collagen, and that has to be repeated a lot!!!!

Had co2 laser 10/17/05 in t-zone mainly for vertical wrinkles around mouth - at 9 days skin looking better now after treatment with 30+ sun block - skin terrbly red - patchy spots on upper lip area - will not peel off - moisture lotion last only minutes - have had several milita spots - am depressed - had a full face lift at same time - it looks great - would not recommend lazer at this time. My skin was not bad at all - it is now - the green makeup suggested just makes it look worse.

I have had 6 treatments of the Smoothbeam laser. I didn't have great results at the beginning, but after the 4th session, I began noticing a clearer complexion (scarring and all). The results are great though it is a bit pricey. For the most part, it has improved by 85%. I plan on doing a final 3 treatments or a derm abbrasion. Any suggestions?

I tried something called 'cool laser' for about a year. It was super expensive and absolutely did nothing!!! If you see some ads about it, just don't waste your money and time. And Derek is right, proactive is also useless. Don't buy!!!

I had really bad systic acne last year during junior year, but I took ACUTANE to get rid of it. To anyone on ACUTANE or planning to start using it, tho more expensive, laser is a more effective at removing systic and especially topical acne, plus it leave much less of a scar than ACUTANE will. Don't get me wrong ACUTANE worked like everyone said it would, and the side effects, including my daily nose bleed weren't even that bad, all in hope that I could look normal again. I guess it was worth it, figuring proactiv and everything else wouldn't even remove the acne. While the acne is bad, I can say that the scarring is worse. While most people have to deal with the deep scarring on the cheeks, I have it on my forehead. It sucks, but what can you do. I am currently undergoing FRAXEL Laser treatments and UCLA medical center, but like others have said, it's not great for the deep scarring. I wish I could say I'm happier with the results, but I'm not, especially with it being my senior year. To anyone upset with the CO2 laser, the FRAXEL laser is more subtle. It's easier with the pain, takes only a few days for the redness to go away, and I'm uncertain as to how long it takes for most of the results to be visible. Since it's not as harsh, more treatments are necessary for greater results, and I currently had my 4th. All I can say is that it works like they say it will, but still not enough to remove deep scars and raise self-esteem. I wish the best to all of you, good luck.

Hello, I have gotten about 3 full Erbium Laser treatments and 2 partial. I have seen significant changes in a very deep acne scar on my cheek. Haven't seen much difference in the pigmented scarring. Overall I am not ecstatic about my results but other people have went out of their way to tell me how great my skin looks. I tried proactiv, murad, Zenmed, and clear light treatments. I still have mild acne but after the clearlight nowhere near what I had before. I am 23 and have had bad acne since I was 14. Micro dermabrasion worked rather well for me in my teens. I am still in recovery from my last laser treatment. Hoping this will be the last. At 300 dollars a pop it ain't cheap. I pray for all of you and hope someday we will all be able to hold our heads high scarred or not!!!!!

I have had 2 treatments of the SmoothBeam Laser at $500 per session. My acne wasn't really that bad to begin with but I did it anyway. Well, now I'm out $1000 and my face has never looked worse. I am now going to see a derm. when that hadn't even been necessary before and am considering going on Accutane because it's that bad. Does anyone have a postive story about SmoothBeam? I don't even want to leave the house.
