Pros: Works like a charm, get knocked out with general anesthesia- so it's painless Cons: Expensive, 14+ days of downtime Bottom Line: I've got great results from Co2 laser resurfacing. I just got it done a 2nd time (1 year apart) and the results are better and better. Evened up the skin tone and smoothed out the pitted scars. Pros: Fraxel lasers have a low down time compared to some proceedures. Cons: Expensive if you have severe scarring. You will most likely need more than 1 treatment. Bottom Line: I've had 3 treatments so far. I've seen mostly improvements with the skin tone. I wasnt as concerned with that as much as the deep pitted scarring. I've seen a 20% improvement so far. I'm going to keep trying since I'm still hopeful. The proceedure itself can be a bit painful, but will be worth it if it works. Recommended: Yes Usage: Reviewer has used this item for a few weeks. Pros: Skin looks younger, smoother, firmer. Wrinkles and brown spots gone. Cons: Not a lot of change in scars or pore size. Painful, lots of post-op maintenance, 1-2 weeks down time. Bottom Line: I would recommend this procedure for wrinkles and freckles/age spots, but not for scarring. My doctor gave good instructions to avoid infection. In some of the negative reviews, I wonder if those people got infections. My doctor warned me that infec. could cause scarring, so I was meticulous. Also I got realistic down-time estimates. Some negative reviews are from people who have not yet healed. It does look scary at first! Scary lasts a week to 10 days, then bright red for 1 week, then light red, and slowly fading. I think going to a VERY GOOD doctor is vital, which you may have to pay for. Looking at some of the prices people paid, I wonder if they went to a reputable place. Don't bargain-shop your face! A "cheap" skin treatment is likely to give "cheap" results. Recommended: Yes Usage: Venus has used this item for about a month. Pros: My face looks so much better and my pores are smaller Cons: Much more painful then I was expecting. Also the bleeing I did not expect Bottom Line: I got the profractional laser treatment and micro laser peel done a week ago. It was more painful then I thought and I looked messed up for the first 3 days. Its been a week and I look normal again with only a few red areas. My pores are much smaller and my skin is smoother. The Dr. said I should see improvement for the next several months. So far I am very pleased with this procedure and would recommend it to others. Pros: it works somehow for me. Cons: it depends on the doctor. but you have to get to know the Doctor by putting your skin in his hands Bottom Line: I have my second fraxel just yesterday. I have to wait like three months to start seeing the results. I have a great surgeon that helped me with my shallow and deep indent scars. He did first a fat transfer(2003), then subsicion(2004). He saved my face. My face was like disfigured before I met him. He helped me look better. But with the Fraxel; the Doctor I have in New Jersey was really good at it. So, one Doctor was better in working with the deep scars and indents (acne scars) and the other one was better with the laser. Fraxel has improved my skin a lot, but the scars don't dissapeared, they just get a little smoother. I prefer to go my country to get my skin smoother. Pros: nothing!! PEARL CUTERA Cons: I'm on day #5 and my skin is rough and red STILL! I broke out all over my cheeks ( i never broke out there). My skin is the worst it has ever been. Bottom Line: I'm only 23 and I think I have ruined my skin :(. If anybody went through the same thing, and can give me some advice that would be great. Pros: calmed down acne breakouts significantly. made skin less oily Cons: probably temporary. everything depends on practitioner--they can make it worse. no lessening of depressed scarring or tiny veins. Bottom Line: i had a series of 4 (once a month) last summer. the (suprisingly amazing) control of my acne breakouts (have acne for 11 years) seems to have gone away 6 months later. I went for mild depressed scars on cheek and jaw and red spot scars. (smoothbeam/v-beam combo). Most scars look the same now--but beware! The last treatment was more intense (leaving bruising) and I was left with 4 or 5 pretty noticable spider veins around my nose--when i only had one small one before--and even tiny little veins going up my nose to my eye area. upsetting. red scars not changed. Also, there was one depressed scar that is now more than twice as big. thats the worst part--be really aware when u do this that it could happen no matter what they say--because some scars are actually bigger underneath, and somehow they get exposed. I had the low-risk skin for this too bc i have fair skin and im really careful with my face (sunscreen, always follow directions, no fragrance products). Pros: The procedure hasn't shown any results yet. It has only been 1 month since CO2 laser resurfacing. Cons: downtime, pain, redness. Bottom Line: I don't think I am seeing the kind of result that I had expected. My face is now blistering (water filled and blood) and breaking out. Doctor told me to put some cortisone on the blisters, but not helping yet. I will need to have Restylene injections done for the deep scars, so maybe that will help. Pros: nothing really. Cons: had 8 treatments done for 7000. 5 for smooth and small pores last 3 was fraxel.been 3 months and no result. Skin is sensitive and burns after medication, more acne appear and more scares. My skin is worst and it wasn't that bad to start with. Bottom Line: if your gonna do fraxel make sure your doctor is sure it's going to work and what to expect after. Don't do it if you know it's manageable. I regret doing it now because i'm left with more scares and uneven skin tone. Recommended: No Usage: mika has used this item for about a year.
