Pros I cant say
Cons I cant say
Bottom line hi everyone,

I am posting this comment here because most you havent done this particular treatment Fraxel REPAIR and are rating it based on older laser treatments or rumours.

I know there is a girl who had a bad experience with Fraxel Repair and has posted pictures of hers after the sutrgery because she did not make any charges agaibnst the doctor or the technician who performed the treatment we will never find out what was the cause of her face getting burned. IT could be bad maintenance of the machine, inexperienced technician or just a bad accident.

However the bottom line is do not rate this treatment based on what you Think or Believe. It is easy for people to say don;t risk your skin in getting this treatment but when people describe your face as bird sh*t you would try everything you can.

Again dont rate this treatment if you havent gotten it. Also, this is not Fraxel RESTORE this is FRAXEL REPAIR. If you are here reading reviews for Fraxel Repair then look at how much people here paid for it Fraxel Repair generally costs around $2500 - $4000 per treatment and from everyone who has actually gotten it, it seems to be the only thing that works for severe acne scarring.

I have tried Fraxel Restore and it doesnt work at all, I am dark skinned Man and am planning to get Fraxel REPAIR done. I will let you guys know how it turns out.

AGAIN, don't judge this treatment based on other lasers they are not the same. You only confuse people.

Pros Less scarring
Less red/dark spots
Less wrinkles
Cons Oozing & Crusting / Healing time
Cost
Risks involved
Bottom line After 2 treatments of CO2 laser my skin is so much better! The scars on my left cheek (the worse one) improved about 85% and you can barely see the scars on my right cheek now. In fact, I'd like to have the procedure done one more time just on the left cheek. (fyi - I had bad boxcar scarring from bad acne & cystic acne in previous years)

This laser requires you to be under general anesthesia during the procedure. It took layers off my skin and I left the hospital looking like a mummy all bandaged up.

My biggest advice is to make sure you get an excellent surgeon that comes with several recommendations and one that you feel comfortable with.

Check out my before & after pictures and documented healing over the two procedures (which were done about 16 months apart).

Pros None
Cons Left me with:
Rolling Scars
Scarred Pores
Orange Peel Textured Skin
Paid A Lot of money for worse skin
Bottom line It's been about 5 years since I went to a Laser Center to receive treatment for Hyperpigmentation and large pores. Being impatient and naive, I stupidly went to get laser treatment for red marks that would go away if I just waited and did cheaper less invasive treatments.

Instead, the consultant probably seen a sucker in me, and said laser treatments would work wonders for my seemingly mild problem. They performed CO2 treatments, along with a few other lasers over a course of 6 appointments.

I tried to hold out hope that my skin would look much better after all the money I dropped, but it looked much worse. I was left with rolling scars on my cheeks ( I am guessing the idiot left the laser on it too long,) along with scarred pores, and an uneven texture to my skin.

Basically I went from having red marks left from acne, to red marks and scars!! To make matters worse, it took me 5 years to pay off the treatments, because I was just a broke college student.

Not to generalize, but I think Laser specialists are out for one thing, MONEY, and it doesn't matter how mild or severe your skin is, they will just pry on your vulnerability.

Think twice before spending so much on a treatment promising to give you your dream skin. I wouldn't recommend laser treatment to anybody.

If you live in L.A., don't ever go to that laser center in Covina...there is only one!

Pros I've just undergone second laser C02 treatment, and would agree, better to have one or two big blasts than lots of small treatments. Very effective for lessening scarring. Strongly suggest, choose a dermatologist rather than cosmetic surgeon.
Cons Not for the faint hearted. Very messy afterwards - blood, gore etc. - and takes several days to heal, although after four days you should be through the worst. I had a general anaesthetic for procedure, although the aftermath was quite painful.
Bottom line If you're feeling brave, and in a good frame of mind, go for it. The results are impressive, although if you have severe scarring or deep lines like myself you may well need two treatments to get the desired effect. It also has the side effect of making you look more youthful too! People have commented on this, which is kinda nice. However, I wouldn't recommend this treatment for people with minor wrinkles or lines, or minimal damage caused by acne. I would suggest something less invasive would be more appropriate, at least in the first instance.Find a dermatologist who is skilled and experienced in the use of lasers as opposed to a cosmetic surgeon who is less likely to be a specialist in this field. The immediate after effects look horrific-so be prepared for that-you will resemble something out of a horror movie-but looks worse than it feels, although there is some pain and discomfort, but heals quickly.Redness lasts for several weeks so use make-up - guys too!

Pros Not too painful, downtime about 5 days
Cons Hard to tell if there was any improvement
Bottom line I have acne scars on my cheeks. Mostly rolliing, but a couple deeper ones. I had 5 treatments with IPL and Pixel. Afterwards my skill peeled and was red for a few days. I think the first few months after were better than it is now, over a year later. But still, since I am still looking into other treatments, I wouldnt rave about this method. It's one of those situations where I cannot tell how good it worked. Maybe it would look worse now if I hadn't gotten it, but I'll never know. I am still self-conscious about the scars, so I guess that is the bottom line. But the IPL did lighten some red marks that I had. It was also the more expensive of the two. $250 for the pixel, $500 for the IPL each session.

Pros not so many pros but more cons than pros
Cons Expensive lotsa downtime
Bottom line Anyone in sydney who suffers from acne scars dont go and get laser resurfacing see the Sheibner Centre, they have treatments with less downtime and better results. and no chance of getting more scars, I got profractional done left small scars where the lasers shot, spent lotsa time at home follow post treatment exactly and not that much of a result i got more better results at the Sheibner centre 1time than preofractional 3times wish i had found out about dr scheibner before

Pros Almost no improvement
Cons Treatment is very painful
and expensive @ $700 per
Bottom line Had (3) Fraxel II treatments over the course of 3 months to address rolling acne scars. After the first treatment I was really excited because I'd thought that all of my scars had disappeared over night, but after 3 days when all of the swelling had gone down I realized that all the improvement was just due to swelling. I went back for 2 more treatments expecting improvement and getting none. From reading messages on this board it seems that perhaps Fraxel alone is not the right treatment for rolling scars and maybe I should have tried subcision first. The place I went to did not even mention subcision.
I will try that next.

Pros NONE was worse after
Cons NONE
Bottom line My doctor was a board certified w/good rep. He was very professional when i first went in but when he saw the results he changed. Practically threw me out of the office. Before surgery he said he could take care of any problems that came [link removed]plete turnaround after. So many doctors didn't want to touch me.Sent me to other doctors.Found out he used the highest level on me & wreck my skin. I've had fraxel 2 x's, about 5 ipl, perfecta 2x's & affirm at least 4x's& still getting more. Had to get a filler for some that were too deep.Still don't go out without 1 or 2 hrs of prep time & so much anxiety every day looking at it. I found a silicone patch that seems to smooth them out a bit.Old marks were nothing compared to the problems I have now. The new doctor said he wouldn't try co2 or any laser to take off my top layer now. Skin is too thin now, has 2 b built up from underneth. At least I got my money back from complaining so much but spending so much more fixing.
