I have acne scarring on my cheeks and have been going back and forth as to whether or not I should pay the $4,000 and get the laser procedure done. However I read about a procedure called cryotherpy today and was wondering if anyone has tried it or heard anything about it. I googled it and it said that it's typically used for warts and lesions, plus it didn't mention anything at all about one of it's uses being for acne scar removal so I don't know what to think. Like all of you though I constantly feel self-concious around other people and hate being in bright light. I'm sick of living life like this!

First and foremost, if you get any of these treatments DO NOT PICK ANY OF THE CRUSTING OR YOU WILL SCAR. They dont tell you that you can go temp insane from the look and feel of the recovery. And that you can come out looking much worse then you went in. I have suffered from acne since I was 13 and will probably have it for the rest of my life(judging from my family). The key is to get to know your own skin and keep it balanced. For all of you whom these procedures have worked for, Wounderful, and for the rest of us who are overwhelmed with frustration about this awful scarring we have brought on ourselves, lets just get on with our lives.

I figured out the best way to remove acne not scars but acne by studying acne treatments online for hours and hours and figuring the TRUE FACTS, go to a cvs store or any other similar store and buy lubriderm daily mostuirizer with SPF 15 which is a sun blocker and also the neutrogena ON THE SPOT cream which contains 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and last which is best to use for life even when acne is gone is CETAPHIL gentle cleanser which is great and feels really good when applied.

I had CO2 laser(full face) on 8/2/06. I had mostly shallow rolling acne scars on my cheeks. For about a week, I looked very red, swollen, and bruised. It is now 10 days since the proceedure. My skin looks noticeably better. My doctor told me that it takes a few months for the redness to go away. It does itch while it is healing, but Benedryl helps. One of the things that really helped me was to meet one of the physician's patients who had been through this in the past. I saw before and after pictures. She has been thrilled with her results. I couldnt even tell that she had ever had acne scars. I have a wonderful doctor who was honest and took a lot of time with me to answer all of my questions. I would highly recommend Dr.Eric Egosy, in Clearwater, Florida. He is fantastic.

Are there any chemicals or creams to remove scars? First of all, not all of us can afford to spend $500 to get Laser Resurfacing and second it is does not seem safe.

I had the CO2 laser done a few years ago for mild to moderate scars on my cheeks. Although I went to a top doctor and paid over $5000, I was left with more scars than before and many additional and unforeseen problems with my skin's texture. I now have strange scars that look like long lines down my face from the laser. My skin is also wierdly shiny, not from oilyness, but from the resurfacing. The shinyness causes the scars to be more noticable because light of the way light relfects off my face now. It's bizarre looking. My face is also oddly pale in some areas, and darker in others. Wish I had accepted myself as I was rather than making things worse!

I was beginning to think that I was the only person out there that had such horrible results from CO2 Laser. I had co2 laser skin resurfacing done six years ago and regret ever having it done. The plastic surgeon I went to said I would be a good candidate for the procedure. I now have more scarring then I ever did before and not even the thickest makeup will cover it up. I don't know if there will ever be another procedure to fix this up.
