| Bottom line | Had co2 lazer procedure 4 years ago for deep rolling acne scars, noticed little if any improvement for acne scars, some decrease in hyperpigmentation. Would say not worth the money if your scars are deep |

| Pros | Laser treatments can help with some skin conditions and should be considered. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Know what laser the DR. is using for your scars. |
| Bottom line | Reasearch all options! don't be afraid to ask questions. And go to serval DRS. before you choose your treatment. |

| Pros | At 60 I am a long time sufferer. I had Dermabrasion done about 40 years ago and Laser Resurfacing 10 years ago. I saw some limited improvement from both methods. |
|---|---|
| Cons | The results did not even approach the promise of either method |
| Bottom line | Reading Don from Louisanas post was an inspiration for me. His comments about looking in mirrors and hiding from lights has been my life story. I have an appointment with a plastic surgeon to talk about Fraxel treatments in a couple of weeks and I will post on my progress. |

| Pros | Over 50% improvement in all types of acne scars in a single treatment. |
|---|---|
| Cons | One week of down time |
| Bottom line | I have been treating acne scars for 28 years with every treatment that has become available. A new technique that I call "tangential laser rsurfacing" using a erbium/carbon dioxide laser (Derma-K) laser in combination with a blending TCA peel on the non scarred areas of the face, consistently gives excellent improvement in all types of acne scars. Much less painful than fraxel or traditional laser resurfacing and much more improvement in a single treatment. Depressed scars are treated with Silikon 1000 (a permanent scar filler) or Perlane one month after the peel. |

| Pros | I've had two of five treatments, and things are looking good |
|---|---|
| Cons | It's still a little slow, especially when you just want to have your face back from acne |
| Bottom line | I'm 26 and going through hormonal changes, which triggered the worst acne of my life (by far) I tried everything, from prescriptions and TV promises, to acne fighting yoga, and acne psyco-analysis/hypnotics. I finally turned to laser treatments, and am thrilled. First treatment, they determined the sensitivity of my skin (not too sensitive from the beating I'd given it with topical solutions), so no real change. Second one, my scars glowed for about 24 hr, but were dramatically reduced the next day. I was also a little chapped around the mouth, but that cleared up within a day too. It's been three days, and I haven't gotten a new pimple since the second treatment (which is about 7 less than I usually get) And the best part, my little town is charging $35 a treatment. Yes, I made them repeat the price three times to me when I first made the appointment, considering that I had been quoted $375 a treatment in Calgary (nearby city). So, hooray for the small town! |

| Pros | Skin looks awsome immediately afterwards. Even, pink tone, and it feels firm and soft. I have never seen my skin look that good, but its only for an hour afterwards. |
|---|---|
| Cons | caused a break out. |
| Bottom line | Just had lazer rejuovenation yesturday. I am a little dissapointed, but its only been 24 hours. Apparently the laser works by "damaging" the outer layer of skin, which in turn causes the skin to repair it by forming a new, younger layer to emerge as the damaged outer layer sloths off. I expect to see the full results within two weeks. The procedure cost 300$ and included the entire face. Its my understanding that most people require 3-6 treatments. I will see how the wallet is feeling before i decide to get a second treatment. |

| Pros | I think Fraxil is wonerful.I have had three so far and am scheduled for my fourth at the end of the month. My skin looks great, wrinkles signifigantly reduced, and pores minimized. I cant say enough about Fraxil |
|---|---|
| Cons | The pain, and three to four days down time. Take meds prescribed by the doc before and you will be fine. |
| Bottom line | I love Fraxil. It has worked wonders!! |

| Pros | Permanent improvement, unlike superficial treatments. Relatively safe if done by a god surgeon. |
|---|---|
| Cons | Post-surgery redness and itchiness. Can't leave the house for about two weeks. First week after surgery will suck, period. |
| Bottom line | CO2 Laser resurfacing worked well for me. I had severe acne as a teen. When my skin cleared after accutane, I was left with bad scarring and pitting. I had two CO2 treatments. My first treatment cleared up about 60% of the scarring, pitting. My second treatment cleared up about 25% more. I paid about $6,500.00 total and feel like an 85% improvement from where I was was money well spent. You can camoflauge (sp?) the redness with makeup after two weeks. I have no idea what men could do other than look like a tomoato. So, I guess the treatment is more suited to women. I was red (without makeup) for a good three months. Then I was pink for another two. That said, there's really nothing else you can do to get a permanent improvement. For me, it was a life-saver. I feel bad for the people for whom it did not work. |

i had my acne treatment done at the Laser and Dermatology Institute in Covina, CA. I was very disappointed with the result- i had some moderate acne scarring on my face and was promised that with the 2 package treatments which cost about more that $5,000 each that my scarring would disappear totally. Well after my last treatment was done my face had cleared up of acne but my moderate scarring has never improved - then the very unprofessional doctor there suggested that I need sanding on my face. What a waste of money. Don't believe their promises!!!
