Pros: Very short recovery time (30 minutes) Cons: cost Bottom Line: Tried the Smoothbeam laser. Received treatment once a month for 3 consecutive months. Didn't notice improvement until sometime in between the 2nd and 3rd treatment. My skin was firmer and the beam helped rid of some redness. Pros: Boost in skin's firmness and plumpness. Scars filled in a bit from underneight Cons: none really Bottom Line: I had 7 treatments of IPL photofacial done within a month. Usually these treatments are spread out more...but we wanted to really plump the scars. It helped. It only hurt a little like a little rubberband snap. No down time at all. Pros: I did not have laser resurfacing done -had laser blood vessel removal Cons: Scars and pitting if not done correctly Bottom Line: I have gone to two dermatologists for laser procedures on my face in NYC. The one guy, thouh experienced and trustworthy, left major divots in my face. That goes to show you that even someone with experience can screw up. The 2nd woman I went to is wonderful. She focuses on laser use and knows exactly what will work and what won't and what the risks are. If you are in or near NYC, I highly recommend Dr. Kauvar (NY Laser). She will be able to help fix some of the problems you might have experienced elsewhere. She also knows of solutions to problems other dermatologists aren't familiar with. Pros: smooth looking Cons: severe redness itchiness Bottom Line: i had upper blephroplasy done as well as laser resurfacing under my lower eyes. i was so excited, but i am absolutely panicing now. its been a little over 2 weeks, and it is unbelievably red, and with all the negative things i seem to keep reading, it feels like it will never go away! has anyone out there had a good experience? and should i still be putting vasoline on it at day-17? and most importantly, does the redness ever go away? feeling so regretful!!! Pros: None Cons: Very expensive, long downtime, no lasting results, redness. Bottom Line: I've had Erbium laser resurfacing 3 times for pitted acne scarring around my lower face and before this 10 micro-dermabrasion treatments with no results at all. In fact i would say that the scarring in some areas is actually worse than before. The first laser consultation the doctor advised i would see a 50 - 60% improvement and actually had zero. I have also got slight melasma caused from going into the sun a few weeks after resurfacing. I wouldn't really recommend this treatment to anyone as I didn't even see improvment on the smallest and flattest scars let alone the deeper ones. Over $5000 dollars wasted and a bunch of false hopes from the Cosmetic surgeons. I have been advised from the surgeon that did my face that the Fraxel laser could possibly help however after seeing some of the posts submitted here, it doesn't appear to do anything either. I will try Scultra injections next to fill out the scars and lessen the apperance as nothing else seems to work. Recommended: No Price Paid: 5,500.00 Was this comment helpful? Pros: Made a minor improvement in the slightest of acne scars. Cons: Had no effect on deep scars of skin imperfections. Some areas healed worse making them almost appear deeper. Didn't even remove a fine wrinkle I have. Bottom Line: I had 5 fraxel laser treatments with experienced doctors, and had the laser intensity eventually go to the maximum level. This was done at a laser treatment center-so they're the pros. It looked good the next day, but after the slight swelling goes down until there is absolutely no swelling at all (which takes about 2-3 weeks), then you will see that there is almost no improvement. I had about 30 close-up pictures taken by doctors before and after, and you can't tell the difference. My face still has all of the scars and imperfections and slight wrinkle, but for the very minor scars, you can almost see a slight improvement for some. BIG WASTE OF MONEY and it gets your hopes up for nothing. Recommended: No Usage: Matt has used this item for about a year. Price Paid: 7,000.00 Was this comment helpful? Pros: I had very good results. My skin is very smooth and free from malasma. The wrinkles around my eyes and between my brow are virtually gone. I had it done 3 months ago. I hope to see more improvement as time passes. Cons: The procedure was very painful toward the end because the pain medication wore off. The first 5 days of recovery was miserable. I felt much better after 2 weeks. Bottom Line: It was worth it. I might have done fraxel instead of co2 lazer because of the awful recovery period. Gave bleaching cream. went back to doctor today for sever redness and pealing. doctor advised me now more bleaching cream. gave me two creams to put on it clidimyein and cloderm. see again in two. noly put raiting bacause it is nessary for completion. Pros: Smoother results for 1 month..stopped break outs for 2 months Cons: Expensive...swollen for 3 days...felt as if my face stayed swollen a bit..Face looks fat as if sweling was slightly maintained Bottom Line: The Treatment 1. Microdermabrasion 2. Levulan Application 3. 30min Blu-U 4. IPL treatment (feels like an elastic salp on your face 100X per cheek) I did this full treatment twice 900$ x 2 Recommended: No Usage: KC has used this item for a day or two.
