I have been on Sortet for 4 months. My skin is so dry!!! I am going to get off it early, because I found somthing better and it is natural with no side effects except healthy skin and a happy body. I can't even run anymore my joints hurt too much. I am taking manatech, a whole food supplement that helps cells communicate and counter act all the free radicals and icky stuff in the body that causes things like acne...try it!!!

I had moderate acne and then tried accutane. I was on the take one pill one day and than the next day take two schedual. I was totally cleared of all acne and black heads for a few months after finishing the medicine but then acne started coming back. I went on accutane a second time and it didn't work as well as the first. This was a few years ago now and I still have moderate acne. The dryness that came from taking accutane was also a pain.

Accutane is the best acne treatment there is, no question. I tried EVERY over the counter cream, then went to my doctor. I was on tetracycline, some other cycline's no luck. I went to a dermatologist, tried like 5 different bp creams still no good just dry skin. Finally I was put on Accutane. I believe I took 1 pill one day, 2 the next, 1, 2 etc. By the end of the 5 month treatment my skin was cover model clear. I started getting a bit more acne about 6 months later so I went on it for another 5 months. That was about 5 years ago and my skin is still perfectly clear, I don't use anything on my face other than cetaphil now and it's still this way. The only problem with it is the side effects. The only ones I really had were increadbly dry skin on my face and chapped lips. If possible, take accutane in the winter. First dose I was on I did and it was fine, second was summer and I camp a lot and such so I was really peeling badly. You won't leave home without a tube of complex 15 moisturizer and chapstick when you're on it. Those are the only side effects I encountered, and I had to get blood work done once a month to make sure all was well. My mom's work health plan paid for 90% of the accutane so it was very cheap for me. I can't recommend accutane enough, if you want to get rid of your acne then skip all the other junk and go on this you won't regret it, just deal with the dry skin for 5 months and come out with clear skin.

It totally worked for me. I had a horrible acne problem-I would miss days from work, school, social events because it was so awful. For about a year after I went off accutane I was practically acne free but 2 1/2 yrs. later I'm breaking out again, but never as bad as before.

I took accutane and yes, the acne disappeared. However, being an athlete and having to compete on the highest level i took steroids and the acne came back. Even though the juice messed it up big time, the side effects i had during the accutane process were too horrible. I still have to use Aquaphor for my lips because of the sensativity to chapping that occurs all the time. Dont do this [censored], it [censored] with your brain too, i would get real depressed its bad.

I took Accutane in High School. I had bad pimples for five years and nothing worked to get rid of them. I had all the typical Accutane side effects, but I don't remember them being that bad. Although the hair loss was alarming, it wasn't like I had bald patches or anything. Anyway, I am 29 now, and I use benzaclin for slight breakouts, but nothing like I used to have. Accutane was probably the best thing that happened to me in high school. I was "pizza face" my sophomore year, I took Accutane over the summer, and I dated the quarterback and homecoming king in my junior and senior year. Maybe that sounds like cheezy proof that it works, but it made a world of difference. My skin was literally perfect for two to four years.

I have severe acne and i wont too use this medeication but i wanted too ask if i shuld start using it or what.
Beacouse i dont would it helpt or not can maybe someone tell me those this medication work wel on severe acne or not? If so then how lang do I have too take this medication before it begins working and what are to most comen side effects whit this medication?

I had moderate but persistant acne only on my forehead and chin. As soon as I started acutane I got EXTREMELY severe acne all over my entire face and neck. Every day would be worst from the neck and I have never been so self conscience in my entire life. I literally hid from the world. I work as an esthetican and know so much about skin and consulted other skin specialists and Natropaths, and was literally living off of brown rice and cooked carrots. Finally at the end of month four things started to change. I get new lip skin everyday, and have lost so much of my hair. I have terrible back aches, dry patches all over my once soft skin, weal peeling nails and ears and no energy. My eyesight has altered dramatically, and I find when I'm tired that everything just goes fuzzy. I am now nearing my fifth month and hope to god I won't carry on to a 6th. My skin is really scarred from the evil first three and a half months. I really don't think I would have stayed with it if I hadn't had such amazing skin care prouducts and a mineral make-up line to cover up all the horrible cystic acne. If this is permanent then maybe it was worth it. All the power to those who make it thru this. All I can say is good luck to ya.
