| Pros | Cleared up my skin beautifully for months during treatment and about two years after. Breakouts started returning after that but haven't reached as bad as they were before. |

| Cons | While dermatologists would disagree, I believe it's responsible for the keratosis polaris I've developed. Only a month or so after the end of my treatment KP started. Also horribly chapped lips started almost immeadiately and remained thru treatment. |
| Bottom line | If your acne is bothering you, use this stuff. It really does work wonders. I've seen friends with horrid acne have smooth skin and I know how good it worked for me. The KP I've developed may or may not be a result of acne but it's definitely much less of a problem than my acne ever was. |

| Bottom line | I was really hesitant to give accutane a try, but I must say that it has ben worth it. I'm going into my fourth month and I'm so pleased with the results so far. Acne really does a number on your self esteem. I've struggled with acne for @10 years, but it became progressively worse...until accutane. I don't mind the monthly blood tests and pregnancy tests. IT IS WELL WORTH IT! I've tried EVERYTHING from Retin-A, Differin, other topical agents, anti-biotics etc, etc, etc. |

| Pros | I took 40mg per day for about 2 months, then 60mg per day for about another 4 months. I now have absolutely perfect skin. No pimples, none at all, ever. |

| Bottom line | I used to be jealous of my friends perfect skin, now they are jealous of mine. Accutane works so well. My skin got worse for around the 1st month, and the dryness (especially the lips) is very, very annoying. Other than that the side effects aren't as bad as people make them out to be...although, definately aren't something to be sneezed at. If your looking for the treatment that will cure your acne forever, or at least for a very long time until they discover a miracle cure, than accutane is definately for you. (I didn't mean to sound so much like I was on an informercial, sorry) It was also very affordable because it is on the pharmaceutical benefits scheme in Australia, only around $30 for a packet of 40 tablets. |

| Bottom line | I had horrible cystic acne, many red lumps and inflamed spots that really got me down. I started a six month course of accutane on June 1st 2006 and finished on December 1st. I am happy to say that the last zit I actually got was on August 13th 2006. I never get spots anymore, but the occasional SMALL blackhead on the edge of my nose, but that's it. Accutane works wonders... I really recommend it as it's a wonder drug! |

| Pros | No more cystic acne! After five months of treatment my severe cystic acne has completely gone away. I have been off for about three months and now only have occasional, small zits. |

| Cons | A few side affects-dry lips, bloody nose, and dry eyes while going through treatment. I now have minor hair loss and hyper sensitive skin, but it was totally worth it! |
| Bottom line | Accutane saved me. I was a mess before my treatment. I cried constantly and was so depressed. I didn't leave my room unless I had to, and couldn't even look anyone in the eye when I talked to them. I was embarrased and disgusted with the severe cystic acne covering my face, chest, and back. It even started to show up in my ears and on my arms. It was so hard. I was giving up hope until I finished my course of accutane. It has given me my life back. I can finally do everthing I use to enjoy with confidence, such as exercise. Before I would spend an hour applying make-up before leaving to do anything, but now I can just wake-up and go. It feels great! |

| Cons | Really dry lips (elizabeth arden 8 hour cream really helps), dry skin (moisturise all over EVERY DAY), can't wax or use any scrubs. Worst is that my skin became heaps worse about 3-4 weeks into treatment. |
| Bottom line | I'm glad I have gone onto it. My skin has been difficult for years. I'm 26 and it has been a constant but mild problem. I have been on Isotane for 4 months and finally it is looking better. Don't give up on this, even if your skin gets heaps worse to begin with. It did with me and then it got HEAPS better. |

| Bottom line | Fabulous stuff...don't hesitate to take it out of fear of the side effects. I was suprised by the number of friends who had taken it but had never mentionned it. If it were such a dangerous drug, I doubt so many would have taken it and experienced little to no issues. |

| Bottom line | i've been on accutane for a little over a month. the first two weeks, my acne was worse than it's ever been in my life. but, now, as i look at before and after pictures, i can see that my skin has been clearing up immensly. this comes from somebody who's tried [literally] EVERYTHING and accutane is my last resort. bottom line is this. if you are willing to cope with the side efects mentioned above, plus monthly blood tests, accutane is the way to go. i'm finally starting to see hope for clear skin! |

| Pros | I had SEVERELY bad cystic acne and started taking accutane, and it helped drastically. It cleared up my cystic acne within a year. And for the next 4 years, I only got minor acne. However now, my acne is starting to flare up again. |

| Cons | A lot of stomach and abdominal problems. But they go away after you get off it. |
| Bottom line | By far, the closet thing to a cure out there, and the only thing that REALLY works. I've taking antibiotics for years, and they kinda help, but Accutane really does get rid of 95% of acne. |
