Hi Dr. Rapaport,

I had a CO2 laser procedure done about 6 months ago. I had an ice pick scar on my left cheek, and the CO2 made the scar larger also leaving me a larger scar with a clear demarcation; almost looking like a cigarette burn. It's all I see when I look in the mirror. I wish I never had the procedure done in the first place. I've read that you can take skin from behind the ear and place over scars....is this true. I would do anything to get my face looking at least as good as it did before the CO2 procedure. Do you think the excision would help the scarred area look better? What are the risks of it being worse. I can send you a picture if needed. I'm just looking for any help I can get, and I would be willing to travel to New York or California for a good plastic surgeon to perform a procedure.....but I can't leave it like it is. I don't even want to go out without makeup...I would appreciate any directives you have for me.

Sincerely,
Alex Green
