  • Doesn't help with fading scars or hyperpigmentation.
  • moderately severe
  • for a few months
  • $ 1
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.

I've had acne for 30+ years. Grandma said "use this old bottle of peroxide up & see what happens." I did & will never look back. Thousands in "quick fix" remedies or $1.50 for a bottle of HP...hhhhmmmm tough choice. I apply it once a day about an hour after shower. My back & chest are spotless. Initial results took three days.

Pros

  • Quickly cleared, reduce redness, got rid of acne

Cons

  • None, I'm thrilled
  • severe
  • for more than a year
  • $ 1.5
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I have been struggling with acne all my life but for some reason as an adult (I am currently 36) it has come on with a vengence. It has truly affected my life and I am so tired of dealing with it. I have tried everything BC pills, prescriptions, expensive topicals, miracle spot eliminators etc and have spent a fortune trying to clear this mess. I tried this a few weeks ago as I read the other reviews on here about it and for the first time something actually worked to start drying up the acne.

Pros

  • very cost effective
  • works immediately
  • reduces redness

Cons

  • drying on the areas you apply it too
  • moderate
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 1
  • I recommend using this treatment.

Try this first over other more expensive remedies to determine possible satisfactory results.

Pros

  • Great effective and inexpensive home remedy for certain acne conditions. I had a persistent small acne infested area on the chin that didn't respond to a number of topical treatments for several months. Two weeks of cleansing 2-3 times daily followed by applying HP with a swab finally cleared the infection. Applied a non oil based crème at night to moisturize.

Cons

  • Skin drying and flaking. Possible bleaching of clothing if not careful.
  • moderately severe
  • for a few weeks

I am 30 with mild acne but I still think I should be entitled to clear skin. After reading about it on the internet I immediately went to this site to see if other's have tried it. Since it has had such good reviews, the past 2-3 weeks I have used it. The bottle is so cheap how can you go wrong. I use a weird regimen but whatever works right?

I use Neutrogenta T-Gel to wash my face in the morning due to it''s higher concentration of Salicylic Acid. Then I tone by face with Neutrogena Acne 2 in 1 Acne Scar Fader, then the peroxide, then Murad's Exfoliating Acne Treatment followed by moisturizer. I will give one hint though...I use Aquaphor on my lips so I protect them when using these products!

Pros

  • Dries out acne extremely fast
  • Fades old acne scars after about a week of use morning and night.

Cons

  • Stings for about a minute after you use a cotton swab and wipe down your face
  • If you leave the cap open or loose it loses it's effectiveness.
  • moderate
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 1
  • I recommend using this treatment.

It's working great for me. I have tried soooo many acne treatments from over the counter to prescription to home remedies you name it. This is the best 'toner' I've tried so far. I think I finally have my acne under control. I use Noxema as a face wash. 3% HP as a toner (must wash off before moisturizing) & Nivea as a moisturizer. Also I take Zinc(50mg)pills once a day. & Drink plenty of water!!!

***Note: Any HP over 3% is too harsh on your skin. & Will do more damage than help.

Pros

  • Works great after one use.
  • Doesn't dry out skin much
  • Inexpensive
  • Easy to use

Cons

  • None so far
  • moderately severe
  • for about a week
  • $ 3
  • I recommend using this treatment.

Hydrogen peroxide is probably one of the oldest home remedies for acne. While it does help disinfect minor cuts and scrapes it's probably not suggested to use on the face and i'll tell you why- After prolonged use of killing the bacteria on your skin, your skin will not longer produce anything to fight against infections; virtually everything will be killed off your skin and your skin will become so used to it that it will stop producing any kind of 'good' (if you will) bacteria to help protect it. Yes, this is a good topical treatment to use on pimples that are truly infected and won't go away but I would not suggest this as an everyday product to use in your regimen.

Pros

  • inexpensive <1.00

Cons

  • not reccomended by dermatologists
  • moderately severe
  • for a few months
  • $ 1.12
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.

I think it works, i have stress induced acne and im stressed all the time so i break out from one day to the next. i use hp with oxy clinical spot treatment. i usually try to put this stuff on 2-3 times a day because my skin is so oily. but it really stops my skin from getting greasy and has helped with some acne. ive only used it for a week so it should clear most of my acne up. ive use so many products like neutrogena, clean and clear, pro-active, st.ives face scrubs, zit zappers and anything else i could find. I used good grade vodka for a while to clean my face and that worked for a while until it stopped and my acne came back with a vengeance. i suggest you use it as a spot treatment so you dont over do it. and if your face can handle it hp then go all over your face with a face pad.

Pros

  • its cheap, easy to find, stops oily skin, makes your face feel clean.

Cons

  • might smell funny if you really dislike certain smells. can dry out skin if you have dry skin.
  • moderate
  • for about a week
  • $ 1
  • I recommend using this treatment.
