When I first tried the honey mask it helped out a lot, I would do it overnight. Because when i wake up in the morning my skin has this nice glow and it reduced my acne by a lot. My skin was smoother. Except when trying the honey mask over night, it makes a huge mess.. While sleeping you should have a towel on ur pillow, so that when ur laying sideways on ur bed falling asleep, that honey mask stuff will get on the towel not ur pillow or bed. In the morning I washed it off with water, kinda gross, but underneath it left you with beautiful skin. It kinda smells bad and we'll leave that smell on your skin, so I suggest putting a ton of lotion on once u take it off. (: But otherwise it was helpful

Pros

  • It helped reduce my acne
  • Made my skin softer
  • Gave a nice glow to it.

Cons

  • It smells bad ;/
  • It makes a mess..
  • moderate
  • for a few months
  • I recommend using this treatment.

the best mask you can make is:

1 tablespoon of honey

1 tablespoon of oats

1 tablespoon of natural unflavored yougurt

i left this on my face for about 10-20 mins. then when to the shower and let the stream and water takes the mask off.

i had a pimple and after the shower and the next day that redness was gone and nearly invisible

Pros

  • takes away scarring
  • natural
  • reduces redness
  • prevents breakouts

Cons

  • messy but thats not a problem just a warning
  • light
  • for about a month
  • $ 10
  • I recommend using this treatment.

For about 12 years I have suffered from acne... Or I thought I did.

I have very fair sensitive skin. During my teenage years, I suffered from hormonal acne (didn't a lot of us?), and for many reasons grew incredibly insecure about my appearance to the point of obsessively fussing with my face in hopes I would stumble upon "The Miracle Cure."

For years, I spent hundreds of dollars on trying to "cure" my defect, tried covering up my acne and scars with make-up, and obsessively kept trying different products (Benzac, Proactive, Accutane, you name it, I probably gave it a shot) out of sheer desperation up to the point where my skin was incredibly irritated and covered with hives and rashes ( I thought it was acne for so long).

A few weeks ago, my face took a serious turn for the worst. A face covered in a rash that hurt after ANOTHER failed attempt at gaining control over my acne...

A drastic change needed to be made. "I NEED to be gentle to my skin," I thought.

So, after 12 years of dousing my face with chemicals and covering the blemishes with makeup which only made my skin worse, I decided to throw all of those products away.

After doing some investigating on the internet...I purchased a vegetable oil based soap bar and a jar of quality, organic, raw honey. I rinse my face with luke warm water, and while my face still damp, apply the raw honey all over my face. I let it sit for about ten minutes, rinse it off and go to bed.

The next morning after washing my face with the vegetable oil soap bar, I looked in the mirror and noticed a sincere change in the tone of my skin. It looked brighter, my face didn't look as irritated and red.

I have been following this routine for the past 5 days, and every day I notice a positive change in the appearance and texture of my skin. It's natural, there are active enzymes, vitamins, and minerals that are so gentle and kind to fair and sensitive faces. The rash is 75% gone, redness gone, old marks fad

Pros

  • Feels and smells great on skin
  • Reduces hyper pigmentation and fades old acne scars
  • Gets rid of white and black heads without over drying
  • Leaves skin silky soft and glowing
  • Inexpensive

Cons

  • A lil messy with the application
  • moderate
  • for about a week
  • $ 8
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I am in LOVE with this!

Okay, to clarify, I have combination skin. Oily t-zone, dry cheeks. This solves BOTH of my problems.

The acne I have on my chin, nose, and forehead are going away and the redness is already gone. As for my cheeks, the honey also seems to moisturize naturally, so they're soft and plump and supple. It's really amazing.

What I do is, right before a shower, dab some fresh lemon juice on all of the spots to my t-zone. Then I go right away into smearing the honey on my face in every spot. Less is more, in this situation. And wear clothes that aren't very important to you, the honey drips a little. I leave this on my face for 15 minutes, then jump in the shower for it to wash off my face by itself.

Afterwards I put some Oxy Cleansing Pads on my t-zone, and I'm done. It's not very time consuming, and very cheap and affordable.

The honey is doing such a good job I'm thinking about just tossing out the Oxy Pads when they're all used up.

But, keep in mind, I drink 16 glasses of water a day, and 3 cups of tea. Green tea, 'Get Gorgeous Skin' tea, and rooibos tea. I've also made healthier changes to my diet.

The honey mask is a really great, natural product to try, and you have nothing to lose. So if you're skeptical, I say that you should try it. :)

Pros

  • Lightens
  • Natural
  • Inexpensive
  • Evens Skin
  • Diminishes Blemishes

Cons

  • Sticky
  • light
  • for a few months
  • $ 6
  • I recommend using this treatment.

When I first used it, it didnt help at all, but I continued using this mask a few times and it worked! I put this on my face once or twice a week, leave it on with a bit of salt on my nose and forehead and step in the shower. The heat of the steam will help melt the salt into my skin to exfoliate and get rid of excess sebum. And the honey almost melts into my face giving me a glowy complexion. This method is super effective, I recommend!!

Pros

  • really does help with reducing pimples!!

Cons

  • takes time
  • light
  • for a few weeks
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I actually make a raw honey and yogurt mask and spread it really thinly on my face, really massaging it in so when it dries it's a little bit invisible and definitely not dripping off. I leave it on anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour before washing off, and sometimes I will get into the shower while I have it on so that the steam ( I like hot showers haha) really opens my pores to the yogurt and honey. Definitely give it a try - my skin is softer, more glowy and somehow more even-toned. I use this mask a few times a week. As far as I can tell, it reduces scars, redness and pimples, but not dramatically or quickly.

Pros

  • Easy, All-Natural, No side effects, Works!

Cons

  • None whatsoever.
  • moderate
  • for about a week
  • I recommend using this treatment.

THIS IS AMAZINGG! I've only used this product for one day and the results are immediate!

I'm 18 now, and I had clear skin for all my life. I randomly broke out 3 months ago, and I had these horrible dark marks on my face from the aftermath of acne. I would keep getting random pimples on my lower cheek, and chin. It was horrible. Yesterday I was looking through this site and saw how honey is very good to prevent acne and clear up scars.

What I did was take 2 tablespoons of clover honey and mixed it with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon . I applied it to my whole face 2 hours before I was going to sleep, and washed it off with luke warm water. Then before going to sleep, I did a spot treatment and applied it to my acne scars and my 2 acne pimples for the whole night. I woke up the next day to find that one of my pimples poped while being immersed in the honey mixture, and the acne itself disappeared! IT WAS AWESOME. so happy! my scars are already fading, and i woke up with such a clear and soft complexion. I didn't even wear makeup today cause, I felt like my skin looked good. Also because I didn't want to ruin my skin by applying makeup to clog my pores!

I am definitely going to try this every night now! I will keep everyone posted on the quality of my skin with this treatment!

THANK GOD FOR HONEY!

Pros

  • Clears Face
  • Makes Face so smooth
  • inhibits acne growth

Cons

  • drips
  • sticky
  • light
  • for a day or two
  • I recommend using this treatment.

I had such good hopes with honey. I read a lot of positive reviews, so I started using it, every night for some weeks. I would sleep with the honey on my face. I used organic honey.

It didn't clear up my acne unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the results. It didn't make pimples go away faster and didn't reduce redness. It even made my acne worse, I got a lot of small, red and pus-filled pimples on my chin and upper lip. Also I'd still get big painful under the skin bumps (which would become visible in 2 days and would take some days to go away).

Here's a picture of when I still used honey on my face (you can see the honey), but it doesn't show it that well, it looked worse in the mirror:

http://i.[link removed] decided to stop using honey. I then also cut out all dairy from my diet (I read dairy can worsen or even cause acne) and reduced my suger intake dramatically (so no more Coke etc.), because I read suger also has a negative effect on acne. I also started desinfecting my skin with rubbing alcohol after I popped a pimple so I would prevent bacteria from spreading.

I do use mineral foundation powder as make-up, cause I still have some tiny marks left. It's special mineral powder that claims to reduce acne. It doesn't clog pores (so it says and I believe it really doesn't, because even though I use the powder on my face everyday, I get very few new pimples now)

My skin now looks like this (without make-up), it's almost completely clear, especially my chin, but my upper lip has also improved a lot (just one or two pimples when I took the pic):

Pros

  • It smells and tastes really nice!

Cons

  • It's sticky, sticks to your pillow, your hair, it's a mess
  • It made my acne worse unfortunately, despite all of the positive stories
  • light
  • for a few weeks
  • $ 2
  • I do not recommend using this treatment.
